I think the only thing bad I have to say about this knife just getting one in yesterday is the weight to size ratio. For over 3 ounces that's HEFTY for a little knife. Nice geometry, edge, and action aside from harping on the weight of it. It was my first buy from Vosteed alongside the Talarus, which I definitely like more even if it's arguable it could be a worse value in comparison on materials.
Any input on the standard Pup for $59 and the one for $99? I have both in my cart, just can’t decide if it’s worth the upgrade and what they are. Thanks for any help and understanding.
Difference is the blade steel. The more expensive one with S35VN blade is supposed to be a better steel that holds an edge longer. The cheaper, with 14C28N steel, is apparently a more durable metal than S35VN though. I literally just looked this up a few minutes ago wondering the same. I like the scales of the more expensive one but from what I scoured on Reddit it doesn’t seem like S35VN is worth being 50% more than 14C28N.
@@Bakez94 Great info, I appreciate the leg work. I think I’m gonna go with the base. I just saw a video about the S35VN and it doesn’t seem worth the difference. Thanks my friend! UPDATE: since my first post, I’ve purchased several knives with S35VN & 14C28N, along with Nitro V and D2(don’t laugh, it’s really not so bad). As long as you know how to sharpen and especially strop an edge, they can all serve you very well, even D2. It comes down to how often and how you use them, understanding each steels limits and weaknesses, and your willingness/availability to keep them sharp. I’ve learned a whole lot in this last month or two about all the new blade steels introduced over the last 10-15 years. I was actually the Cutlery Buyer for one of the Nations largest Sporting Goods Distributors back in the 90s, but things have changed drastically since then. Back when 440C was the High end, and AUS8 was coming on the scene. G10 was the latest and greatest handle material, lol. Spyderco & Cold Steel were the hottest brands. I’m amazed with what’s coming out of China these days also. Not personally stoked about it, but owning a few WE knives, many Civivi, some Kansept & quite a few Kizer knives, I can’t deny the quality of build, workmanship, consistency, and integrity of these knives.

@@TheRoadDawgI thought the same until I saw the Damascus one
@@Andyscollection69 That definitely takes things to another level. That’s on my short list for sure!
Need to get one of these for my sister she loves Corgis but she got allergic and can't get a puppy.
This one bites if you're not careful 😂
