    I have a project in Math on Desmos where we have to draw a pet house. I knew NOTHING about drawing on Desmos like this. But now, you saved me a bunch! Thanks, man.

    what kind of equation did u use for the sun? this rlly helped me thanks!

    • @djnechodom
      @djnechodom  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's the equation for a circle x^2 + y^2:= r^2, where r is the radius. The equation is solved for y. It's the positive square root, then you can also type in the negative square version. It has been shifted horizontally and vertically to move it to where I wanted it. After I made the video, I found out that you can simply type in the original equation without having to solve for y, and Desmos will still graph it.

    for a circle wherever you want it.

      True. Love that there are always lots of options.

  • @zakirreshi6737

    Instead of two equations we can also put y^2=.25+x^2

    • @djnechodom
      @djnechodom  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Very true! or even (I learned this after making the video) just type in x^2 + y^2 = 0.25^2. Do what's going to work well for you.

    I'd like desmos to model functions in a discrete way. If I type y = 2x + 1 I want to see the dots, not the line. I know I can make a table and plot points, but I want to some out and in and move the window while still seeing the infinitely long function. Anybody know how to do this? Can desmos do this? He desmos, if you are watching this, can you fix this?

    • @djnechodom

      Shoot. And you're sure you're using curly braces, not square brackets or parentheses? If you can take a picture of your function and send it to me at djnechodom {at geemail} I can try to figure out what's going on.

    • @djnechodom
      @djnechodom  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh, heck ya! I love to use whatever functions I can to make things simpler. But since this was an introductory video, I didn't want to cloud the issue by using functions that might not be familiar at this level. Absolutely, though, hit it with whatever functions you can think of!

      I'm at work and unable to take time to help. I would suggest drawing it on a piece of graph paper first, and then trying to figure out the equations for each part. You can look through the video to see how I made vertical and horizontal lines, and use your knowledge of slope and y-intercept to make oblique lines. Also, watch the video again to see how I made lines start and end. Best of luck, I'm so sorry I can't help you right now.
