It doesn't help that they don't know what they are doing. Barricades are a must to divert the path of enemies (don't use them to block the portal off completely or the regular orcs will destroy them), and they really need to upgrade the core traps they are going to rely on.
For real though. I adore Neebs, but good lord he is such a back seat gamer on the dumpster. Holy crap. You'd have to be a Marine to deal with these guys.
To be fair, once they got rolling, Simon was the only person who was pretty consistently on the ball, and despite being new to the game, Neebs seems to be outpacing Dora (eg. "When you leave the catapult, you should sell it so you can put down more traps elseshere.")
Simon was the better choice. Because Neebs is dumb at the best of times. Simon, even though he doesn't really care, actually wants to learn. Not dumb ass Neebs all the time asking actual dumb questions.
I feel I should mention a strategy. If you put barricades down and fully block a path it will force them to turn around and go to the other path. Meaning you can invest in a better manner.
Exactly what I did and makes a big difference. Also if you have the dlcs the briar patch at the start of the other it grows fast and will destroy most of them. The next few rounds I use the barracks to zig zag them in the building to the rift and lay the briars there also.
Yep, barricades are pretty much the best 'trap' really where it pretty much diverts the path of enemies. If you completely prevent an enemy from having a path to the portal, they'll destroy the barricades though. Later on, there are self-destructing enemies that will specifically target barricades so you may want to double up on barricades or place some traps to kill enemies that go to the barricades.
Not having baricades unlocked certianly made their lives harder. thank goodness though. Id much rather watch them struggle than snake baricades, level up weapons, and use the only 4 traps that are worth using.
Came here to say this. I did this solo and absolutely had to use barricades to block the second path. I think the boys problem is that they skipped over that part early on and Dora obviously hasn't played for a while. Definitely want to see more though.
Please keep playing this game, I'm really enjoying it as much as the regular content. It's really nice to have something long-form from you guys to chill with and watch.
I know it's way too late but you can force all the enemies into one lane with the barricade. just completely block it and they'll run to the other, open, lane.
Barricades & tar, the #1 & #2 traps to use. Tar slows them down for the entire duration that they are standing in it with no cooldown. If you have the choice between tar or spikes, its almost always tar to slow them down to allow your other traps time to reset
I beat this one by having a barricades on one door so they funnel into the other door, and arranging barricades to make long winding path that is one square wide that is lined with tar and acid geysers. I had ceiling lasers above them and occasionally had saw traps where appropriate so they can get some good bouncing value on the enemies. Once I had my path done, I pretty much just put a bunch of archer packs on the balcony watching the enemy spawn points so they can soften enemies up. On the final wave, I pretty much focused on the boss and froze him and then alternated to my staff to hammer him down until he thawed out and then repeated the process. He dropped pretty quickly when I did that and didn't even get to my kill zone of traps.
If they break one door before the other they will naturally funnel themselves through that door :D *like they did in the video* saves some money early on
@@RumblyGL I wasn't that much of a hassle. Block off one side with the Barricade just to be on the safe side. The other side I used Archers, Knights and the Towers I used to build an obstacle course for them to wander through made up of Ice, Fire, Acid and Tar. I spent the whole battle standing on the side lines just watching.
Spread out your traps more, do not waste time completely killing orcs, just get them down enough so the traps take them out. That will allow you to spread your damage out better. Good luck, hope video 3 comes soon
I recommend you guys play Dungeon Defenders. Same concept as this game. Its a 4 player tower defence game. Its got a handful of playable characters, each with their own style of traps. A feature that game has that this one doesn't is, you can share/drop your money for teammates to place more traps if they dont have enough. Great content as always guys 👌
@ragepaint There is actually a third one called Dungeon Defenders Awakened, which takes you back to the roots with original maps from the first game and some new ones as well. The story of it I that the heroes get sent back in time, so they are young again like they were in the first game, but they have some heroes from the second game as well.
Watched it through to the end and loved it! I would like to see y'all play this after neebs upgrades his stuff. Maybe you guys could even show the process, like if Dora walked through it with Neebs. Anyways keep up the good work guys!!!
No way! A self confessed coward and D rank armchair general, aka Simon, who is too scared to even play the game, yet is super keen to criticise the others who were at least having a decent go of it, vs. Dora, who was a very smart grunt who knew that it wasn't his job or pay grade to make plans, It was his job to follow one! That keeps you alive and where the plan (and his Sarge) expected him to be! Free thinking Privates who come up with a "better plan" put the real plan in the crapper, convince easily misguided infantry out of position and quite possibly into a grave and Private "Ayeno Betarthanyoo" ,(Aka, the 'free thinker)", was either smart enough to get ganked or dumb or enough to live thru his own idiocy and will probably end up court-marshalled, hated by all, and haunted by the faces of the men that his "tactics" got slaughtered. Then he also gets some bonus trauma!- The pain of being branded a traitor who sabotaged his own battalion. Sorry that my reply got heavy, but when somebody starts claiming that Simon is craftier than a trained marine, well faces need slapping, boys.
I feel like Neebs should trust the traps to take out the few smaller dudes that get through, and NOT turn from the masses on the bridge. More time is wasted turning trying to get a few at the sacrifice of killing many more. I love that Simon kinda pointed it out.

Never thought Simon could be so cheering and assertive. Congrats buddy!
I picked this game back up again after seeing you guys play it & they have some new dlc’s & updates out since I’ve last played, so now I’m playing OMD3 while watching these guys play OMD3! 🤘
That section of the castle with the pits with meat grinders in them would be a good place to put the ejection traps, since the large orcs just kind of slide off of them to the low end.
Hey guys if you’re looking for another cool game like this one I highly recommend dungeon defenders. There’s two of them I’d say pick two bc it’s basically the same as the first one but with way better graphics. Great video this channel is gonna blow up
hey guys, old school TD strategy that works fantastically in this game is using your blockades to funnel the horde in and through a maze of your own design. Basically force them to wait in line at the DMV, then booby trap the line.
This reminds me of when I first played Dungeon Defenders back in the day. The unfortunate part is that such games become dull once you manage to build in such a way that you can just AFK the entire thing.
Good game! - But focus more on choke points. Crowd Control > than small spike damage. With tar you can always use fire to give the big guys a nasty dot. Try launching the small and medium out of the map. Perhaps only 1 ballista so 1 focus on pummeling them with heavy weapon, while 1 focus on stragglers.
So I just started playing this game, man it's addicting. But good lord watching neebs is painful, Dora sort of seems like he's paying attention. Why does neebs not have any different traps? Does it not let the 2nd person choose different traps? Just some barricades and it makes this a whole different challenge.
I will add it took me two tries the first time I played this map to figure it out, but the right side (side neebs is on) is a shorter distance than the left side. I ended up barricading that shorter side and basically just used single archers, the mega flippers and the vine traps whatever they are called, but barricading that short side was the key.
If they do more of this game i wonder if anyone will tell them you can choose your trap loadout before the first wave. so you can choose the best traps for the map and playstyle/upgrades. Dora even with probably lots of unlocks didn't change once and quite a few traps he never used.
I think the lack of efficacy that trap had the last time they played this game made them subconsciously dismiss it as having value, overlooking that there weren't barriers keeping enemies on the bridge they tried to launch them off last time.
@@briang3598 I think the bigger reason they dismissed them was because they weren't throwing the bigger enemies, not realizing that you need to upgrade them to do that
Im watching them super late but i wonder if Neebs will ever customize his traps. Can't wait to find out in the next episode ! xD Neebs wanted it harder he sure making it harder on both of them by ignoring that one crucial system of the game lmao
Use barricades. Most (if not all) of the enemies ignore them unless you block all of the paths. You can build mazes, block other paths and so on, using their goal to your advantage. And their goal is to reach the core; as long as there's a path that leads to it, they'll follow it, no matter if it's a maze or full of traps.
You should study how to tune/upgrade your traps (Neebs still doesn’t activate his new traps after playing for so long) and attacks (like teleporting-dash and spells) … so you could play the harder and larger battles :)
The easier way is to put down the dragon catapults on the end at each lane. Then the bounce platforms to throw the enemies at the water spikes and tard should be switched. First tard and than spikes in 2 lanes. So they get hitten more often because the got slow down. Try to hold the gates as long as possible. Lay traps direct in front of the gates because they stand there longer. Please neebs choose more traps XD
My son and I never cared much for the catapult. We always buy knights, but you probably don't have that unlocked yet. The Knight is badass though. And the Molten Gold trap will give a chance to drop a Big Coins, once the trap is upgraded, giving you more money to spend each round.
Simón directing Neebs makes me want to see them play that new game that's a RTS and a FPS all in one. The one where 1 person is the General giving orders and the other players are the footmen on the battlefield? Yea let Simon be General and the rest of the guys fall in lol
if you want to catapult you need a lot more tar. simon has the right idea. you can clear this level with 1 catapult each, all tar, and archers, thats how we did it (me and 1 other) spike traps are actually useless, they reset too slow and do little damage, your other option is ALL spikes, the entire path, spikes. and your weapons.
general rule you should follow is block one path off if you have two paths. even better if you block it off far down the path so they waste time walking it.
Oh man that was rough to watch. Ive never played this but from many years of tower defense games you do not want all your traps at the end. You want your traps in places enemies are gonna be constantly running through. The ones closest to the hearth thing are doing nothing while theyd be doing alot more forward. Also that left the archers exposed on the sides which youve seen being attacked earlier on. If the archers go down thats a whole lot of extra orcs that arent being taken down for you to deal with 2 feet from your death condition. A little tar seems good, ive always valued slow towers, but since they are expensive, too many takes from the things doing the actual damage. They also traps like the dart traps get alot more damage in as they wade through it. They might work a bit with floor traps but not nearly as good as the damage over time type traps. Also traps that do more than just one tile of damage are good. Wall dart traps n what not. Also the catapults seem pretty strong but if you leave them they are useless where that hefty chunk of cash could go to defenses that always damage with no abandonment issues.
Next time use the barricades to funnel them one way or another. The closer to the rift, the further the enemy will go before turning around to go the other way.
Lots Tar early to slow down, that will allow archers and catapults better chance to fire! Barricades to block 1 path outside. Then more barricades to direct flow. ONLY DIRECT flow don't block, if u block them completely they will break barricades!
I dont know if they'll see this, but You want to try for Combo's. see those X3 and sometimes X4...you get more coins for those kills. The idea is to stack effects. the goal is x9 or more. An easy example is place Tar (lingers for 3 sec) and then a spike trap. The snare from Tar, Spike physical, and spike magic/fire = x3 combo. kill them with a headshot within 1 sec and get a x4 combo. And please. Please, learn to use barricades
Love playing this game with mates and beers. Each one that gets through is a 'strong swig of drink' as penance. After a few rounds on hard, it gets.... fun.
Neebs needs to play through all the missions (including the first ones) and unlock all his traps and also needs to use the spell book to fill his bar with new traps.
Through Appsro's rage fits, Doraleous' general chaotic, all over the place gaming style, Neebs' absolute obliviousness and Simon's short term memory for games they've played for years; I have never seen a bad Neebs gaming video...until this one. Isn't there walls on this game where you can direct the enemies where you want them to go?
Oh my god I can’t help myself- NEEBS THERE IS NOOOOOOO WAY SIMON IS STRATEGIZING BETTER THEN YOU WITH THE CATAPULT
it so painfull to watch neebs play sometimes
I'd like to see you all play this again!
this is a good game for this channel.
They be dumpin
The archers were great where dora put them in the beginning.
Sooooo why dont yall ever use the barricades? Makes things sooo much easier
Dora- neebs come help me Beat them
5 minutes later
Neebs- where are they
🤦🏽♂️💀
Bruh I'm starting to think this channel is better than the main lol
Open a window lol those are the magic fumes talking 😂
use barricades! you can block off paths and force orcs to go 1 way!!
Please give us more of this!
I liked this playthrough, please continue it!
Should sell when you get out of the catapult so you can make inside traps
Through Appsro's rage fits, Doraleous' general chaotic, all over the place gaming style, Neebs' absolute obliviousness and Simon's short term memory for games they've played for years; I have never seen a bad Neebs gaming video...until this one. I seriously got to 6:32 and stopped the video. Welcome to Neebs Magic Dumpster fire!
Would love to see Simon and Appsro play gears of war together on insane difficulty.
I really enjoy this!
The opening arguments 😅 just shut up hahahah is funny to watch the chaos unfold
I give thee the highest honour that i can give....... video that i watch while breakfast
I like how Dora was selling neebs stuff and neither of them figured it out!
Loved this!
