This can literally be the start of the go to midi guitar series. Please do this with different guitars, this way of sampling is what weve always needed
Did you try Ample Sound? Renaxxance? Nylon guitar by Ilya Efimov? Session Guitarist Picked Nylon? Vir2 Acou6tics? . On same note - you don't have to see, you have to listen ))
This is the MIDI guitar to set the standard for any other MIDI guitar. You’ve done a beautiful job creating it. I already have MG Soft Nylon and will be getting this one as well. Cheers!
Being well-acquainted with so many aspects of guitar performance and recording, I must say that MG Soft Acoustic Guitar has to be one of the most thoughtful and thorough guitar emulations I've ever seen and heard. Finally, a guitar emulation created by a pedigree *guitarist*. Beautifully done. Congratulations (and thanks) to you and to Spitfire for achieving and providing this very much-needed life-like representation of an acoustic guitar.
What sets this library apart is the beautifully intuitive sequencer mode. I'm so glad to *finally* see a pattern/sequencer mode with in-depth editing capabilities allowing me to create the EXACT strumming or arpeggio pattern I hear in my head instead of having to settle for "as close as possible" with other Vsti's.
Mike, many congratulations on what is quite simply a beautiful rendering of an acoustic guitar in the virtual instrument setting - without doubt the best and most flexible I’ve heard out there. Quick question - are the tuning offerings customizable and/or offer the Nashville style tuning? Congratulations once again!
Thanks really good to hear that. And for tunings, you can tune each string down up to 2 semitones, plus put on a full capo. No Nashville option sorry..this may be for a future guitar release.
I'm in the process of completing my first (basic) DAW setup in this pkugin will absolutely be in my setup, together with the package of EZ Toons. Great explanation of this beautiful peace of software!
Wow! You should be very pleased with what you’ve accomplished here!! Beyond the clear and clean as a bell tones, you’ve arrived at a truly brilliant Sequencer. Thankfully, you didn’t name it a STRUMMER. I have so many guitar plugins and guitar sample libraries-you know all the brands. Some are very fiddly to the point I consider taking up Gardening as my passion. Others are quite possibly brilliant, but my brain is not nearly large enough ; I quickly realize I don’t have the determination to master the thing. Until I discovered your new product-and…being a plenty good enough rhythm guitar player (like…I could stand in with Credence on Green River or…If I practiced really hard, I could perform with America, on their song, RIVERSIDE, do uptempo stuff. What am I talking about ? Oh yeah….being so frustrated with the entire dealio, I decided there should simply BE a software thing that would simply allow ME to be the strummer!! Bottom line: I’m buying your instrument. Very excited about it too! Thanks Mark
I really like the sound and functionality, but I'm a bit surprised that "hammer-on's" and "pull-offs weren't incorporated in this plugin, since it's a major function of a guitar player!!!! I hope that this function will be added with an update, cause I would really like add this to my studio!!!
My first release was a small nylon string guitar..this is a larger steel string guitar, plus this has a strumming engine and sequencer plus loads more.
@@JosBlomsma yes but you would just need to move the key switches, namely the fret positions and any articulation switches. I am planning to modify the pack to work with Soft Acoustic soon..
Thanks glad you like the guitar! The sustain pedal issue is most probably a cc-related communication issue..you should contact Spitfire support stating your exact setup, I'm sure they can quickly help out, cheers.
I just bought this VST and I think it sounds phenomenal, but I'm personally having some struggles getting specific voicings I want. For example there's a chord I wanted to put in a song that's like: E|0 B|0 G|6 D|6 A|4 E|X And I couldn't get that voicing no matter how hard I tried. Is them's the breaks or is there something I'm missing?
Glad you like the guitar! Have you tried just using Manual Chord mode? You can have any voicing you like with that. Auto mode only includes standard maj/min/7th/sus chords..
All popular chords up to 7ths and sus2/4 are supported in Auto-Chord mode (and for the sequencer), otherwise you can use Manual-Chord mode to create your own voicings.
@@ComposerMG Thanks for your response. And is there refund policy if I realize that plugin is not working the way it is shown in videos, and that it doesnt sound that good, as was the problem with all the other publishers of vst guitars?
Hi Mike, does the Auto mode that interprets notes to automatically pick realistic one also apply to midi ? I'm a beginner and I'm pretty sure I make the most delusional melodies that wouldn't;' be able to work on a real guitar. Thanks
Auto mode selects the most realistic way of playing the notes you input, but it's also down to you to get the best results! I will shortly be releasing videos on getting the best out of the guitar, stay tuned thanks..
@@ComposerMG Thank you so much for your response. I got the soft acoustic guitar yesterday and have been playing around with it. I'm not a guitar player and really appreciate the most realistic notes play feature! Thank you again!
thanks for video. in chord mode why it does not detect inversions? for example E7 I need to start with E, if I play D,E, G sharp, B - I will get Dsus2 instead of E7. Are you going to fix it? In MusicLab (Realguiar) I can play any inversion I want and the plugin detects it. Spitfire has been a reputable company and to be honest I don't understand why they let half-backed product hit the market....Weird !
The instrument doesn’t go quite as deep with the auto chords as some other vst’s, though I could argue it far exceeds them in other important aspects. Thanks for your feedback though and expanding auto chords is definitely on the list of possible improvements for the next update.
I am a composer and I would like to know ... if I make a score in Finale and import the midi to my DAW and use this guitar. Can it play my written midi... and also can I set up key switches for my midi to activate the various sounds? I would really like to know.
Of course no problem! You may need to shift the midi up or down to the correct octave for where the playing keys are set up..then you can add articulation keys to your liking.
Do we contact Spitfire Audio for support? Is there a manual? I can't get my DAW, Ableton Live 11 Windows, to start the guitar sequencer on beat one. I tried triggering both the pattern (yellow key) and chord first in my piano roll. The audio playing always starts on beat two. The drag and drop midi mirrors the same issue and a few more. Also, I click to my DAW and then back to Kontakt 7 and all of the colors that show the key assignments on the virtual keyboard disappear.
There is a manual available on the product page. I will be covering the sequencer in an in-depth video early in '24. The sequencer keys are set up to start on the first beat of the next full bar, so you should start the sequence just before the bar you want to come in on. I did not explain this in the above video and am actually making this an optional feature in a new update about to be released. I will check out the keyboard colors issue, first I've heard of that. Thanks!
I play a bit of open chords, low E string down to D // B string up to C and high E string down to D. Can you untune the strings on this plugin? On Ample sound guitar is possible. Pleaase let me know, thanks
Hi Mike! I just bought the MG Soft acoustic guitar via Spitfire. I wanted to load different sequences, but when I click on the disc-Icon there are no presets and I can not save my own presets. Can you help me please? Thanks in advance.
You overlap notes to produce slurs (hammer-ons and pull-offs)..there is also a slur sensitivity slider to control how softly you need to press the key to get the slur.
I'm going to make a video on chord recognition very shortly..but basically you need to play standard triads with any 7ths at the top. It does also allow for inversions but only for standard maj/min chords. One other thing is the chord notes need to be pressed together (within 55 ms).
@@ComposerMG I appreciate the response, Mike. I did notice that timing is very important - perhaps too much so; I assume 55 ms was chosen for a good reason but the result for me is that it's hit and miss. I also have been using standard triads with the 7th on top and while I can do an Fmaj7 I could NOT get a GMaj7 (just an example). I'm also stumped at how to choose chords in the sequencer but perhaps that's just be being deft.
