Back in the 40s-50s in my area (North Idaho, USA) loggers would sometimes use 2 trucks to do this, the one in the back going in reverse and acting as the rear steer

Never seen a setup like that in the states... Sure can take a tight switch-back!
I've seen a couple similar but not identical setups up in the mountains that do the same thing with a set of rear axles that can swing through tight turns. Not common though and only seem to be used on small mountain roads. Probably aren't safe for highway use.

I just keep on imagining the truck just rolling over as it probably would have done if he had sped down to that corner or driven recklessly etcetera so amazing. Great driving. Great equipment to enable him to steer around such a tight corner. A hairpin bend essentially. Fantastic.

Is the trailer boggie automaticly steered depending on the angle of the banks on the truck or is it manually steered from the truck?
Don't bother to answer, I found an answer below that was able to translate. It's manually steered with a controle on the dashboard. Nice work.

Here on the west coast of US we just use long log trailers that follow exact path of trucks tandems. Check out Whit Log or General trailer! Cool stuff n love to see how its done elsewhere!

living in canada and growing up around logging and ive never seen this kind of setup, so i have to ask, are the trailer axles able to be manually controlled for times like this?
Boujour peut-on mettre des chenilles de tank ou char dans le milieu de la remorque entre l'attache remorque et les roues de derrière de la remorque avec des chenilles qui s'abaisse et s'élève avec des verrins hydraulique pour pouvoir rouler sur la route goudronnée donc des chenilles aux cas ou le camion est coincé dans la boue , gravier , glace , sable etc...etc... ? Merci ++
Thats a very nice trailer. It would be easy to dump your load all over the ground though even in the best of circumstances. They dont have much choice anyway. Gotta get um down the mountain somehow.
