You may know this but...RJC makes a nice copper gasket for the header to turbo union ...goes on dry...never,ever have to scrape that old sealant off! Also...no gasket is needed between downpipe and turbo. Permatex anti- seize on the downpipe/turbo bolts is a good thing.
When I installed my TE44, I've put a copper gasket between the header and the turbo, two years ago when removing the engine and the turbo, I saw that the copper gasket was really thin, and had craked and of course had an exhaust leak, this is why since I put Permatex High temp silicon
No I didn't bore the hole for the wastegate puck, the wastegate hole on PTE 6262 is big enough, take a look at my GN's turbos comparison video th-cam.com/video/BZ98Xe0Fimc/w-d-xo.html
They actually make a real gasket maker for oil resistance heat resistance water resistant really good made for what you're doing Oh well there's always next time

@@duber3 Betting it wasnt an RJC copper..Used them for years..never an issue.
@@brianmathew09 I don't know if it was an RJC, I bought it from GbodyParts
Did you bore out the turbo, for the wastegate puck?
