I think the most notable moment of the ePrix was Team Andretti bringing in Scott Speed to replace Marco Andretti and despite it being his first race in Formula E he managed to finish 2nd and had a cool 3 way fight for the win alongside (iirc) Nico Prost and Daniel Abt.
A little bit of a an insight on one of the reasons that the ePrix didn't happen again. There were not enough flaggers to the point of hiring people off the street. From what I am told, SCCA was only given a week to find officials due to the uncertain nature of the event and it was put together so poorly (i.e. having random people marshal a race who have never even been to a race). SCCA were so unhappy that they told the FIA that they would not flag any more Formula E races in the region due to the poor planning.
@@mionellessi3086 We do it for free as well. I forgot to mention that there were other races at Sebring and Homestead on the same weekend. That's where most of the veteran flagers were.

An interesting idea for a video would be how there were two 24 Hours of Sebring races in the same year (2021 from the World Racing League and 24H Series) that both ended up being one offs.
The reason they were one offs is because they DESTROYED the cars of anyone who entered due to the tracks bumpy nature. No competitor wanted to do it again basically
Another great video as always! I noticed you put a clip of the 2003 ALMS Miami race and man thats street circuit is so rough! Some narrow parts where nearly 2 cars can fit and a lot of bumps where different categories need to race, crazy!! EDIT: I remember suggesting to you the A1GP Beijing street circuit, but i recently discovered the SuperLeague which is a lot worse and narrow, in fact i readed that it wasnt even homologated. The problem is that the track is more forgotten than the SuperLeague category itself and i cant find basically any informations. See what you can do! Have a nice day!

Residents & Businesses were unhappy because of the disruption to main downtown streets & as well as noise complaints. Seems the fear of being sued is eternal for US street races.
Looks like a fun little track! I like tracks with bridges and tunnel sections, the corners going under the active highway just look great to me - really feels like the racecars are winding their way through the bustling city. 😊
I mean, in terms of fictional ones, the Hitman universe one is a neat little track, I forget how much of it is modeled too, gonna ad that to the list of Miami street tracks too, which ,now makes me wonder about fictional tracks in games too EDIT: Okay huh, going by videos there's more of the track built by IO interactive than I realized, someone at IO is clearly a racing fan and built a genuinely good looking track there. Makes me now wonder if the Hitman devs would do justice to a racing game honestly if they can make a track look that good

Andretti Sports Marketing (the promotion) filing a lawsuit against Andretti Autosport (the team). This cause multiple events to be pulled from the 2016 motorsports calendar like this event, IndyCar at Milwaukee & NOLA, and Global Rallycross at RFK Stadium.
Andretti Sports Marketing went out of business shortly after this event because of IndyCar events they hosted that didn’t do so well. I went to this race and it was so much fun. Sucks that this could be the last time a street circuit is built in downtown Miami.
It might be worth delving into China's history of failed street circuit since they're notorious for it. A1GP in Bejing springs into mind with one of the WORST hairpins known to mankind.
Exactly, I didn't quite understand why this race didn't continue. I believe there were problems on all sides: complaints from residents, the Andretti who promoted the race may have had its financial problems, and the FE must have, at the time, found other interesting places to replace it. But I wish they would race there again. Even more so now that the New York race has been cancelled. By the way.....this New York track could be a new suggestion for a future episode. Since the location has now been claimed for another use, I find it unlikely that it will return.
Hi, maybe do a reverse series with the best street circuits like St. Petersburg, Macau or Montreal. That would be neat. And other failures you could cover could be like Cesars Palace or Valencia
def need to look at that other 2015 Floridian street track, the Fort Lauderdale circuit that had the opening GRC round that year....... where the joker lap was a tyre bundle and one of the four corners had literal beach sand dumped on top of it...real GRC hours lolol
Turn one was meant to be a more open right hander in a car park as was revealed in the documentary they did before the start of the series, however there was an event happening in the building which owned the car park, so it never happened

For once not a total stop and go fest of chicanes and hairpins. Built out of what was left after the old Bicentennial Park (see other video) was redeveloped. The local's hate was high already for the Bayfront Park races (attended 2002).

Formula e can totaly return to Maiami in the new Hard Rock Stadium track They're alrrady running on longer tracks than they used to, and Monaco works beautifuly for them While Maiami sucks for F1 I can see that track working for Formula e
This circuit was nit glamorous enough. Grey walls and road under the highway makes for sad viewing experience. Its another traditional forgettable us street circuit in tradition of new orleans circuit or west palm beach circuit. At least its good that FE provides opportunity for such circuits to exist, as us sports car racing doesnt seem to like street races very much.

This was also (surprisingly) the first Formula E race to NOT have a safety car intervention.

It was a great race this year quit hating. On track pass for the lead and tons of midfield passing.

I think it's a cool addition as well. Somehow gives the track added character from my perspective.
It actually raced pretty well, it didnt have too many braking zones and was a pretty open track which worked quite well for these cars.

Even as a big fan of Formula E, Miami is an incredibly forgettable circuit. The thing I remember from the race is Scott Speed driving for Andretti.
His drive in that race was fantastic and certainly the most memorable moment from that track.

This does not bode well for the NASCAR Chicago Street Course, which is also almost 90 degree angles, with cars even worse for this type of racing
