  • Palmaia, The House of Aia, is a new, all-inclusive, luxury resort in Playa Del Carmen, Riviera Maya, Mexico. The 314-room resort celebrates all things holistic and wellness (from activities with its Rituals of Life program to cuisine at five restaurants), and there is a jungle spa, swim-up suites and a beach bar. We call it "a little bit of Tulum in Playa Del Carmen" and also "the Burning Man of resorts).
Travelbinger checked in to explore the property, and we immediately became obsessed. Check out our review of our stay at Palmaia, The House of Aia!

Thanks for your thorough, awesome video. I've been staying at Nizuc every year -- and loving it every year -- but couldn't resist booking this hotel (literally at half the price of Nizuc). I was experiencing too good to be true buyer's remorse until I watched your review. This place looks amazing: Beautiful beach, gorgeous rooms and outstanding cuisine. Really looking forward to my vacation (assuming Covid 19 doesn't ruin it).

Thanks so much! I also love Nizuc ... but yes Palmiai is great .. just FYI: Palmaia rooms are definitely smaller than Nizuc's massive, grand villas / pool suites/ etc... :) but you'll love the property !

I’ve been here and it’s great however it is completely vegan. Personally I think the food was very good even though I am not vegan but if you really want meat or animal products you can just ask them and they’ll give it to you. Also great vid 👍

Awesome video and review! Just a question, are the swimups or the main pool heated at all? Since you went in Feb. I imagine you would know firsthand. Thanks!

Thanks so much! The pools are not heated. However, according to staff, the resort will be fully solar paneled by the end of the year, so it will be heated through that. Thanks for writing, and would be great if you subscribe!

Loved your video. Have you been back? Do you know if the pools are heated now? We booked for January 2023 and I'm a little nervous because it was pretty expensive (even with a Travelzoo deal).

i don't think they are heated now but you should call and ask... but the ocean is right there, which was amazing :)

@@Travelbinger Thanks, I'll ask. We'd spend more time in the ocean anyway as long as the sargassum isn't bad.
