Okay I just LOL'd at your comment of "you have to drive through a stretch that looks like a war zone to get here" because I know EXACTLY what you mean from when I would take that exact trek when I lived in Tulum hahahhaa but once you get to Holistika it is SOOOO good. I loved the Temazcal ceremony there!!!!!
Thanks to your videos, I am presently having the coolest vacation experience ever! Stayed at hotel tiki tiki for a few days and it was excellent. Over at Tulum treehouse now and it’s fantastic. Watching an amazing live set with my feet in the pool!
@@giomusah2155 Thanks I appreciate that. That's a hard one - those were my 2 favorites but for very different reasons. I guess I'd say Nomade as long as you stay in the treehouse room - that's what made it so special, plus great beach and vibe. Have a great time!
Great Summary - thank you! Can you also recommend a hotel for us and our 20 year old kids that want to be close to the parties. we like amenities of the larger hotels. Also the beach is important - we love body surfing/swimming in the ocean. Much appreciated!
If you know Swank - you know we shy away from big hotels and are always looking for more boutique experiences - and one of the things we love about Tulum is the lack of mega-resorts. Have a look at our review of La Zebra - that sounds like it might be good for you - very nice beach and beach set up, it has the amenities of a larger resort, and kids can walk to center of nightlife in 10 min - but you wont be awake all night b/c the hotel's far enough away from the boom boom boom you hear all night in central Tulum. You might also want to check out our review of Be Tulum - that's a little more of a walk - say 20 min - to central Tulum - but I always walked on the beach to get to nightlife and that was super pleasant. Good luck.
@@SwankGuide Fantastic - just looked up La Zebra and its exactly what we are looking for. nothing "mega" but still amenities and location looks perfect. Much appreciated!
You are so welcome - that's why I started this thing - I think people should know what to expect before they pay for something as expensive as a resort - have a great time!
How do you only have 2k subscribers? This video is epic…I stayed at Nueva vida eco hotel a few years ago. It was cool but maybe not top 10. A lot of competition.
Your videos are great. I've stayed at a few of these places and visited others. We are leaving tomorrow for Tulum & after watching your videos we've decided to try out Radhoo - we've done a beach day at Nest and adored it. It's been a lot of years since we've been to Tulum and I've discovered you need to be much more careful now in terms of the party scene (not my cuppa tea). When we first visited it was quiet & sleepy and quite undiscovered. Now, it's a matter of avoiding the noisy beach clubs - not a fan. I can verify that hotel Tiki Tiki is a dream and a great budget option. Interestingly, the first place we ever stayed in Tulum was Be Tulum. We fell in love with the beach there but honestly thought the hotel was mostly style over substance. It looks a lot better now to be honest. But you've missed our fav hotel: Alaya. Alaya is magic & special. There's just something about that place that gets me every time. We'll be staying there, as well...
My favorite resort/hotel is the one that Leonardo DiCaprio stayed at in Bali. Just the feeling of being on a random island in the middle of nowhere disconnected to the rest of the world is an amazing feeling... also the staff are so friendly. Like they literally put both of their palms together and kinda bow at you each time which makes me feel very special and sort of like a king which is very flattering.
Sorry if I gave you that impression. Nest and Encantada are in different leagues just look at the pricing. They just have same owner. I would however recommend La Valise over Encantada. Enjoy Tulum
I actually stayed there but ended up not recomending it b/c the nightclub across the street was so loud until 2-3 AM coundt sleep.... that was why it's not on my list. Did you have a different experience?
You mentioned there were 3 hotels that were so bad that you didn't include them. Which ones and why? I'm asking because I was really interested in Azulik but I did'nt see it included.
Hi Emily - the 3 resorts I tried but decided not to recoomend were Amansala, Delek and Sanara. Azulik looks great - just know it's a bit North - so getting to Tulum's great restaurant scene wont be quite as easy. I also wonder about long beach walks in that area - my experience being a bit north of the centuer when I was up at Habitas is that rocky outcrops translates into secluded beaches - i.e. no long beach walks. I'm not saying that's the case at Azulik - but if you like to walk on the beach may want to ask. Good luck.
Amansala: good but not special - but if you want tons of exercise classes then it might be good. Delek - lovely place - I was looking for charming and affordable on the beach - which it is - but it's across the street from 2 or 3 nightclubs that blast music until 3 AM . Then there's the Sanara - deceptive website - a very average place that felt formulaic and a bit run down. Have fun
I feels to me like some places - jamaica is a good example - has tons of all inclusives - Tulum has few if any - it's more about boutique experiences - my guess is you'd have more luck w all inclusives in Playa del carmon or Cancun.

Thank you for actually staying at each hotel and it’s not an AI voice over video slideshow lol 😂 amazing quality and review.
Thank you for that... it's amazing how many channels make hotel recs and they haven't even been to the hotel....thanks for your comment!
Yeah super annoying with stock footage. We appreciate your work 💪

I don't know any other channel that goes to this extent to deliver so much great/helpful info! Thank you ... we love your channel!
wow thanks
Best video about the hotels 🌴😎 I’ve enjoyed many of these listed

Great reviews and insights on each of these properties. Love seeing reviews that include the design aspects. Thank you.

@@SwankGuide You have great taste. Which would you choose: Tulum treehouse or Nomade? I'm in my 40s, yuppie but flexible

hilton tulum is my favourite ❤️. It's new, and on a gorgeous stretch of beachfront
It really is!

Many thanks - I have great people helping me
Any advice for a solo trip for 3 days looking for something very chill and relaxing near the beach.
Nomade or Be Tulum w dinner at the 2 restaurats I suggest (see our website for the blog about eating in Tulum) + long walks on the beach. Have fun

Thanks!
So Beautiful a really paradise.

I’m wondering which ones you visited that did not make the list
Hi. The Amansala, Delek (b/c of noise), and Sanara
I see you recommend Nest over Encantada. Any reason for this?
