There was an Arcade place in this city which had the Arcade version of this till the early to mid 90's. I remember always playing it at least once since the early 80's. Great game.
Mark, I have to say you have a niche most reviews I watch for games that I am interested in. I watch yours because they are entertaining and I watch them all.
You forgot to mention hitting the letters in order to get the B O N U S! I remember playing this game as a kid, the higher levels are insane, with solid ducks apearing you could never beat it.
There was an Easter egg in the game where if you spelled BONUS backwards something would happen, but for the life of me I can't find/remember what that was.
this looks almost exactly like the arcade game. I think the aspect ratio is the only noticeable difference. the arcade was upright monitor whereas most home games are horizontal
As very young kids my brother and I used to play this game (and many others) on our dad's Colecovision. I used to get SO frustrated! Granted I was only 6, lol.
This video needs "NASA Approved Intergalactic 3D" for that space foam finger! The gravity looks so Earth-like in your arcade! What kind of futuristic alien technology is that??
Agreed. It was one of my favorites at the old arcade in town. Sadly, it closed even before the arcade crash. This version looks just like it. I want to play that game now. :(
That is awesome that Luke has offered to fix it, if anyone can fix a console its Luke :) I remember playing this game in the arcade when it was brand new. :)
I know an arcade machine you could review if you can get your hands on it (and haven't reviewed before I dont really know) CarEvil... this reminded me of it cause of the name.. I loved CarnEvil... it could be a halloween video :P
also, the pipes' value is highest at the beginning of a round and decreases with each shot fired (except shots that hit a pipe). There are 8 pipes, four pairs of the same color. If you hit two pipes of the same color on CONSECUTIVE shots, then the point value is 4X the stated value of the pipes. Just sayin...
When I went to play Carnival on my Colecovision last month I found out it was broken due to the controller chip being bad. Those are pesky and should be socketed. Also, this game rocks even on emulation and I am working my way toward mastery on the Intellivision version.
Looks better than the Atari 2600 version for sure! That's tge version I have. I found 2 ColecoVision consoles over the years and NEITHER of them power up!! Argh!!
dude, try messaging him. and not a personal TH-cam message. he made it clear to not do that, but I can't remember the method he did say to use. check on his channel page.
He does review newer games. Just look at the list on his channel. Considering it's called CLASSIC game room, of course he reviews mostly older games. If you have a problem just unsub.
I love the typical Coleco sound effects when you shoot the bear. Same sound effects used in Mousetrap :)

I love this game & great review, you need more Colecovision game reviews!
Mark, I have to say you have a niche most reviews I watch for games that I am interested in. I watch yours because they are entertaining and I watch them all.
I've never seen the arcade machine either but Carnival was one of the first games I got for my Colecovision back in the day and I really enjoyed it.
Thanks for the review of this game. It is still awesome now and now I wish my Colecovision still works.
This game was my childhood. Puts a tear in my eye
Carnival and kickman were two games that went great together
0:55 "Look at the sounds and hear the visuals" :D
I love how the ducks in this game look like the dragons from Atari 2600 title "Adventure"
Carnival, Venture, Smurfs, Ladybug, Mouse Trap, Donkey Kong, Q-Bert... Colecovision is what made me a gamer.
I do remember the arcade game and this looks like a spot-on version.
Awesome graphics and sound! I gotta get me a Colecovision!

You can turn off the music by shooting the icon of the right. I've never seen another game have that feature.
This channel is awesome, love the reviews.
This was my absolute favorite at my grandparent's house!
this looks almost exactly like the arcade game. I think the aspect ratio is the only noticeable difference. the arcade was upright monitor whereas most home games are horizontal
Since he's in space, he's probably getting solar energy from the sun for free.
Mark, Merry Christmas Hozer!
Mark is Master of Intros

That was the first thing I thought of, too. Those dragons were pretty intense, no wonder they are burned into our memory.
We need to see more of the duck puppet.
IT'S GLORIOUS!
I sold my Carnival machine this past summer. It was basically free to me, but I'm a JAMMA game sorta guy. Really fun, though. Nice review.
I'm pretty sure this is my dad's favorite ColecoVision game. That or Defender.
i feel like mark is judging me with that giant finger
I have this on the 2600 but the coleco version just blows it away
Agreed. It was one of my favorites at the old arcade in town. Sadly, it closed even before the arcade crash. This version looks just like it.
I want to play that game now. :(
It's not exactly the same experience, but have you tried MAME?
Luke has fixed stuff for him before. Mark just works through email/PMs. If he's interested, he'll get in contact with Luke through those.
Coleco was an excellent port. BBC Micro has a good one too - don't look at carousel!
Why was this age restricted? Seemed fine to me...
I love CGR.
Another amazing review!
Thanks for making me buy a colecovision!
That is awesome that Luke has offered to fix it, if anyone can fix a console its Luke :) I remember playing this game in the arcade when it was brand new. :)
But... do you Rock the Casbah? Rock the Casbah?
I couldn't help it...

CarEvil... this reminded me of it cause of the name.. I loved CarnEvil... it could be a halloween video :P
Mark better review that Phoenix Wright foam finger
Those f***ing ducks, man!

This came out for the Intellivision also
Aaah... Carnival! The only game where a duck can morph into the wizard from Wizard of Wor! :¬D
i want that ace attorney finger
I loved this game.
Sound was normal for me.
Why does it go from 360 straight to 1080?
Look at the audio hear the visuals xD
Coleco is the best again.
Mark didn't you already reviewed this game?
Note to self; Mark doesn't like clowns.
+James Stone
That's why Derek had to go. Nope .. that was mean ... just joking.
Derek is more the bearded lady Mark mentioned.
cool to play an drunk party tho
stop getting rid of the intro squirrel! everybody loves it!!!!!!
Looks better than the Atari 2600 version for sure! That's tge version I have. I found 2 ColecoVision consoles over the years and NEITHER of them power up!! Argh!!
Wait, that was a bird? Not a ghost?
Don't worry HATERS!!! I'm sending mark a refurbished ColecoVision in a few weeks when its done. Just chill out people!!!

I'm not sure if Mark reads these comments, at least all the time? You should send him an email =)
Mark should get a third party intellvision like the tele games Version
How can you hate clowns!
anyone else have crackling audio right from the start of the video?
Was kinda hoping you'd end the review with one of the ducks eating your ammo.
I used to see a lot of that, cause I sucked hard at this game.
Please go back to the old music (without the intro) Please, please, please.
Got it on my Atari 2600.
dude, try messaging him. and not a personal TH-cam message. he made it clear to not do that, but I can't remember the method he did say to use. check on his channel page.
sound is strange
Save the clowns! Shoot the Mimes instead. :P
hi

Mark hates clowns?! Finally after all these years I have discovered the reason he hasn't reviewed Final Fantasy 6 yet!!! He is scared of Kefka!
not even that made him reply !,he never replies!
wow

You're not missing anything with the Intellivision version, it's painfully awful.
Made it before 300 views
Poor Atari 2600 version! It tried to so much!

Awful intro.
