ALRIGHT!!!TODAY!!!! lol Elliot is the best. Way to represent Bogus. Grew up skiing there. Love seeing Elliot's vids showing the old stomping grounds and his honest and reasonalbe reviews recorded in the backyard studio. Nicely done. Keep on shredding and reviewing Elliot! and as always....Pray for snow.
My favorite ski!!! I love these things, fun fast and agile. I take them everywhere (east and west). Soft where I want them, stiff where I want them. I feel like a better skier on them.
I own this exact ski and have taken it out the majority of my days out west this season. Can definitely agree that this ski wants to charge and send on all terrain, but I see that as a good thing personally, as it still maintains a certain, lovable playfulness no matter how I ski it. For me, it's no shocker that this is a very popular ski amongst the Black Crows catalogue.
The Black Crows formula (to me) is… LESS IS MORE! Imagine if you were Val d’Isère or Courchevel on a powder descending hundreds of vertical meters with the Atris? I also think this ski screams “JAPOW” (Japanese Powder) because it wants those pow runs through the trees in Nozawa Onsen or Niseko. I get the feeling from you the “Atris” does a decent job on the groomed slope as well. What ski are you going to add to your quiver? I guess your “SEASON ENDING” special will reveal all the information. CONGRATULATIONS ON 3K 😊⛷️
Black Crows makes legit skis…. Nice to hear your opinion. Your personal experience on specific skis has often been similar to mine, so I trust what you’re saying. Keep it going. 👍
This Chanel will take off!! These are my favorite reviews. I hope more ski companies will send you skis to review. Just got on some skis after snowboarding for 18 years on got on some black crows captis skis and love them!
It almost sounds like this ski was designed for skiing the French Alps -- charging down above treeline, wide open pistes and bowls, taking big lines down big mtns... good review as usual...
reading this is pretty funny from a french alpine point of view. here the atris is viewed as a playful tree option. pretty far from a wide open bowl ski
Good review. I think the shaping of Black Crows also helps with the on snow performance. A skier used these about 3 weeks ago in western NY on hard-packed snow. He said they were fun.
I have a pair of 2019 108mm Atris, skied for 5 seasons. I love love loved them from the very first turn. But they are a quiver ski. Not fun on ice, but on anything fresh or slushy and they are brilliant.
Have you done a video about binding mount? You mentioned it in the video and I'm curious what you have to say about the position of the binding on the ski, and the recommended line. Thx! I've really enjoyed your reviews BTW
I talk about it a bit here: th-cam.com/video/7jausK4p7NE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=nU-c6BSf2muV5YsM But I really should make a full video on it, bc I have a lot of opinions on it.
I have the Vertis and while I agree that the skis aren't the best at any ONE thing, Black Crows sure knows how to make skis that are the most fun at ALL the things.
Hey Elliot - Discovered your channel today. Awesome stuff. I demoed the CAPTIS at Copper last week and loved them. Two questions. I currently ski the Rustler 9 and love them. But want to switch since I felt I could ski the moguls better. Question 1. I found a pair of 2021s for a great price. Any idea how different from the current model? More importantly, I ski 180 cm Rustlers. I am 178 cm tall. But I am thinking of getting the 171 cm to help me ski the moguls better. Thoughts ? Or should I stick with the model closer to 180 cm? Thanks!!
I spent a full day on it at powder mountain. Definitely was fun when there was Powder. Unfortunately the trails hadn't received much snow in about a week. Conditions were fairly firm. The ski did not do well on the firm trails in my opinion. I do realize it's not meant for that. I also think I needed to go on size up. However it seemed pretty one dimensional to me. I really wouldn't even consider this ski on the east coast. I agree with you not much energy. Not great for short turns. All the things I like in a ski. Not really a great fit for me.
Totally agree, that's why I tend to think of this as a really good 2nd ski to pair with like a Mirus Cor, Octo, or even like a qst 92, maverick 88 etc.
@@RicketySkiReviews I have black crows captis, they are 90 width 178 length. They go good on piste but very average on deep pow. Do you think they would pair well with atris as a 2nd ski?
I bought a pair of Captis which seems to have similar construction to the Atris? It struck me that some of the comments you made are similar to the experience I've had after owning them for a week. They seem to be growing on me as I learn to use them. Have you tried the Captis?
Hey mate, thanks for the review! How does this ski compare to Draco Freebird you've tested earlier this season? Would you agree that Draco inherits Atris' character?

Based on some time on Draco and 108mm Atris as my quiver, can confirm Draco is a lot like Atris on steroids. Skis very similar but doesn’t get twitchy 70km/h+
Yeah fairly similar in feeling, but the draco feels much lighter, the Atris is a bit more sendy and carries momentum through powder more than the draco free bird, but the Freebirds are much lighter and more pliable on the groomed runs.
It's very good, but honestly I think if you wanted some snappier carving skis, you could pair these with a Black Crows Octo or QST 92 to make for a really great 2 ski quiver.
I rode this in Japan with heavy powder and hard groomers. I found this clumsy in the deep and chattery and clunky on the hard. Exact opposite of how I like to ski. Trying the Mirus this week.
This is true for many ski brands. Nordica, Blizzard and some more ski brands are made in the same factory(factories) in Austria and Ukraine. It is the same with car companies, transmissions for BMW and Mercedes are build in the same factory and shipped for final assembly to their corresponding assembly plants.
I don't remember off the top of my head, but the bindings at a glance look like Marker Griffons? Griffon's or Tyrolia Attack tend to be the standard fare for demo bindings, and typically BC sends stuff with Marker Bindings in my experience.
Thanks To Black Crows for sending these skis so I could review them, was very happy to be on these during the Storm! Cheers.

Appreciate it! I have a deep love and respect for Bogus Basin. It's made skiing so accessible for me and my Kids.

Totally agree, and I see it as a positive as well! It really forced me to improve my stance.

Good stuff here, man! It’s almost tempting to get a pair of Mirus Cor and a pair of Atris. Feels like that would cover 99+% of days!
Totally, they also have the "Octo" coming in 2025 and I think combining those or the Mirus with the Atris would be a great 2 ski quiver.
Thanks man, ive been waiting for this one
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching

Hah, same here! 2019, still going strong. Will get Draco Freebird next.
I like that you spent 3 days on them.

It's on my list!
When are you gonna review the navis freebird!?
Unsure, hoping to for next winter
Have you skied the 2024 Black Crows Justis? Would really enjoy knowing your take on how they ski with their unique shape. Thanks!
not yet, but they're on the top of my Black Crows Wishlist
Justis are my favorite ski, the 108 atris my second😂
best skis EVER!
Great Review! Can you do one on the Armada Declivity 102 Ti??
Been trying hard to get Armada's attention, but no luck so far.

Should I get these of a fisher ranger 102?
Curious, what would be your top 5 “all mountain” ski?

Any news on a moment ski review?
Nothing yet, still trying to reach them.
Would you say qst 106 is better at making quick turns?
not necessarily, just a bit different and a bit more forgiving. If you want quick turns I would suggest more the Bent 110 or Backland
Atris is an outstanding ski…pretty much a one ski quiver for expert skiers
It's very good, but honestly I think if you wanted some snappier carving skis, you could pair these with a Black Crows Octo or QST 92 to make for a really great 2 ski quiver.

Can you explain what u mean by clumsy in the deep?
I don't know if this is true or not but an Elan rep told me that Elan builds all Black Crows skis for them in one of their factories.
Some are done in Slovenia, some in Austria I believe. Amer + Elan factories make many different ski brands.
This is true for many ski brands. Nordica, Blizzard and some more ski brands are made in the same factory(factories) in Austria and Ukraine. Review the Justis
I demoed it yesterday. It was bulky to me. If you’re looking for a ski for quick turns in deep bumps and trees. This is not for you.
I hate when people dis a ski with the excuse, it's an influencer ski. Wtf does that mean?
Agreed!
