  • Today I attempt the first 30 seconds or so of the song "Stabwound" by Necrophagist. You can watch an earlier video where I attempt another section of this song, and I think I'll combine those two and power through the entire track as best I can. Keep an eye out for more videos!

This is why I feel its always really important to dive into other guitarists styles. You might find something that sounds simple to your ears can be a big challenge because the guitarists starts with upstrokes or picks every note without any legato. Little things like that can really push you out of your comfort zone if you have already developed your playing to do the opposite. Its really challenging to re-program your brain and fingers to do something that feels unnatural.

As a guitar player with little patience, this is very inspiring to see such a skilled musician struggle to learn a song and keep going.
I typically give up after 15 mins and just go through ultimate guitar trying to find different songs, learning little riffs here and there and rarely every sticking with a complete one.
Last song I learned was Black Winter Day. The intro took forever to learn, but finally got it. The rest is pretty much just power chords.
Tried to learn From Wisdom to Hate and got lost somewhere in the middle. I might revisit that one this weekend after watching your video.

Everyone is patiently (Arguably) waiting. 2 more years. Nothing. 5 years later, nothing. Then a fan sees you at a show, and you tell him that youve had the album on a hard drive for almost a decade, and just didnt feel like finishing it.
