    It’d be nice if MGM would announce if they’ll move Cosmo under the MGM rewards ecosystem. Could be a game changer

    I agree with you RJ, I prefer seeing the card info on the back. This card does look neat though...love black cards!

      Lol, I'm doing a vid on what all the card numbers mean in the near future. Either way they can still put it on the back

    Two years ago I received a mailer for the MGM credit card after I left Las Vegas. I applied and I applied for two other credit cards at the same time, all three polled from Experian and FNBO declined my application! I was very surprised! And I have been receiving emails and mailers up until the other day for the MGM MasterCard
    I don’t know if they are inquiry sensitive or what… But my credit score was over 700 at that time and is now over 800. I have a good mind to reapply for the card in a couple of months, when those three inquiries drop off. I usually stay at MGM properties in Las Vegas and in Atlantic City and this card would be an added touch to my arsenal. as always… Thank you for an informative and insightful video!❤️

    • @RJFinancial
      @RJFinancial  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd say it's worth a redo in a bit. I'm guessing the few inquires so close together scared them off

    For a frequent Vegas traveler I could see an appeal for this card. Watching Ben Hedges’ videos though, there are a ton of ways to status match with other cards that may earn better than this one, but for simplicity this card could work great! Thanks for reminding me about this card. I completely forgot it was a thing haha.

      I saw that vid. That's what made me mention the last part. It was a good video. I'm not sure what you'd do with all those statuses but it's cool to pull off

    • @SpencerJohnsonOfficial
      @SpencerJohnsonOfficial 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RJFinancial Yeah I thought that was a really good thing to bring up. It definitely seems more like a collector game, but hey, if you frequent Vegas really often then you may have some of that instinct in your genes haha.

    I found the fastest way to get a high tier at MGM is actually to use the Wyndham Earner Business card from Barclay's. That card gives you Wyndham Diamond status which you can match online to Caesar's Diamond status. Take your physical Caesar's card to an MGM casino and match that to MGM Gold. With MGM Gold you can status match to Hyatt Explorist (higher than a what any Hyatt card will give you for just holding one of their cards).
    Now for the fun part, because these statuses have staggered years you can keep matching these statuses every year.

    • @LK_EBM
      @LK_EBM 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      How long does each of the matching step take?
      Will MGM give me Gold same day?

    • @NAMERICA
      @NAMERICA 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s what I did though I almost hit Caesar’s diamond status by organic gambling but getting a Wyndham card will secure me a Diamond status without gambling at Caesar’s

    • @RJFinancial
      @RJFinancial  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Didn't Ben Hedges do a vid on that where he got all the statuses in NJ with that card? It was a good one and thanks for the tip

    • @FenRirTenHoor
      @FenRirTenHoor 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LK_EBM Going from Wyndham to Caesar's was a bit of an issue for me because I tried to status match when Caesar's was cracking down on the status merry-go-round. Basically they were not allowing a status match if you did not "earn" Wyndham Diamond. Eventually Caesar's did relent and allowed statuses earned through holding a credit card to count for status match.
      For the Caesar's to MGM, I crossed the U.S. Canadian border, and picked up my Caesar's card in Windsor, and went to MGM Detroit, to status match. Customer service was swamped at the time, but the clerk did print off a Gold card for me, and took my loyalty numbers for both MGM and Caesar's back to her manager to be done when they had a chance. When I had a chance to check my MGM app a couple of hours later at home (same day) the status match had gone though.

    • @FenRirTenHoor
      @FenRirTenHoor 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@NAMERICA The Wyndham Business card has a $95 AF, but all of that status matching saved me almost $200 in resort fees at the Bellagio and gave me a $100 dining credit that I used on Caesar's Palace Buffet next door. Also got to use the Diamond member line and was seated right away, on Saturday, at 6 o'clock in the evening.

    Given that Vegas is 2.5 hours away, and is our main airport, and the Las Vegas strip loses it's luster when you're local. We do like staying at Hilton's Elara when we're there for concerts or convention. Otherwise we stay at an airport hotel, or in Henderson, as we're shopping on our way out of town.

    • @RJFinancial
      @RJFinancial  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've been once. It's fun to walk around and see everything is always open. I think the move is to not stay on the strip and save the money honestly. Then again, I'm not a huge party person as you may have guessed.

    I go solo every time to Vegas. I do have this card but haven't used it yet. I'm currently Pearl even without the card. In order to Move up a level that I imagine most people want help with when getting this, I need to spend a ton of money in Vegas all by myself. I mean to move from Pearl to the next level up I need to spend another 3000 dollars. Wow! A ton of money to spend for a solo traveler. I could skip the 3 or 4 free meals I do get but even that wouldn't make a huge impact on boosting my status with this card.

    • @RJFinancial

    This card is okay. I guess if someone is really loyal to MGM than it would be worth it for them. Now if the buffet is free because your a card holder now that is free meals while in Vegas. Hehe. I will pass on this even if I could get it. Appreciate the video man.

    I got this card last year. Nothing special. I do try to get to Vegas every other year at least so I don’t mind having a couple of the perks, but if you don’t get to Gold or higher, the perks aren’t that great really. I got it for the signup bonus, and sock drawer it in between Vegas trips but it’s nice to have for front desk priority line, and free self park I’ve used with a friend that lives in town. I stayed at Aria this year for super bowl. Fun weekend to be in Vegas!

    But how do I get the form at the end of the year that reports that I got that bonus if the account is already close?
    I know I always get one from my main bank Capital One at the end of the year but that's because it's open.

    Definitely my favorite casino in Las Vegas is ARIA its world class. Food is ok. But I don't care to eat super fancy. Jean georges steak house is ok but to expensive. Carbones really good Italian. The gambling at aria to me is really good. My wife and I have won multiple hand pays. We just stayed at bellagio in October which i like that too. We do have the credit card which we really like but...... the damn new MGM rewards program is garbage and earning points is harder than it was with the previous MLIFE rewards. Overall I love mgm properties and can't wait for them to put cosmo in the mix.
