There is a store in Copenhagen called Uldstedet which has a ton of Gepard. It’s owned by the same person that owns Gepard so it’s sort of a flagship store. They also have the hjelholt there. Also in Copenhagen, they have a store called tante gron which has some really beautiful yarns that are only available there and they don’t ship to North America- I think the brand is called Nordic yarn lab if you want to look it up. It’s also pretty close to the KFO store. And of course Woolstock in Copenhagen is a must and they were one of the few I found that had a decent amount of permin.
If you’re going to be in Oslo, you HAVE to go to Garntopia. It has everything you could possibly want, including most of the brands you’ve mentioned in this video. Not knitting related but I also recommend going to a sauna if you get a chance. I went to one on the Oslo fjord and you get to jump into the water when you get too warm!
Have fun on your trip!! I went last year and it was a amazing :)

My favourite yarn shops in Oslo were Garntopia (biggest range of yarn and accessories) and Fru Kvist (lovely range as well, smaller and cozier, very helpful staff). If you’re going to Bergen, the Norwegian Spirit yarn store in the train station was a gem! Also recommend Strikkelykke in Bergen, but note they don’t do the international tax return forms. Scandinavia is knitter’s paradise 😍

In Copenhagen ( I know it’s in other European locations too ) there’s a haberdashery called selfmade which is amazing for buttons / patterns / fabric and yarn!! They stock a brand called Fraya which I loved!

OK so Tiffany, so Rauma has a yarn called Vandre. And its a very rustic, woollen-spun, non-superwash yarn. Its veeery rustic while knitting but it says it softens a lot with wash.
ANYWAYS ITS MACHINE WASHABLE. Like its not superwash but it's like 50% of a kind of wool that is used for rugs? So I'm making a cardigan with it and I love the fabric so much. It says sport but it's definitely on the heavier side. So look into it because I'm baffled that theres a non-superwash that is machine washable cold cycle. Vandre means hiking, and the yarn is supposed to be super hard-wearing & low-pill. I'm knitting it on a size 8 needle and it's beautiful. Somehow both sturdy and airy? I love it. Just bought another color

Another yarn I've tried recently and loved is Tukuwool

I don’t know if you know this brand but I’ve seen a few knitwear designers use Pickles. They do ship worldwide but shipping is expensive ofc. Their store is in Oslo.

If you come to Bergen in Norway, I reccomend visiting Strikkelykke and Norwegian Spirit (at the train station). Both have many of the yarns you mentioned, and more! Strikkelykke also have many beautiful hand dyed yarns

In Copenhagen i can recommend uldstedet (they have all gepard bases and Hjelholt), Bruun strik (they have sysleriget, Ladybug and permin, and a lot more), Sommerfuglen (also a very nice yarn shop, have knitting for olive, Isager, Sandnes, filcolana and Hjelholt) and if you want the most impressive selection of buttons there is a very cute store called Handler Copenhagen which have amazing selection. I hope you have a very nice trip ❤️

I would really recommend Vams from Rauma, it's a thick and rustic yarn but I somehow still find it really soft for how rustic it is. Alpakka Lin is also an interesting one I haven't seen anything similar to - its a fluffy alpaca and linen blend, really great for more breezy summer sweaters, and the blend creates some really nice colours. Hillesvåg is a winner when it comes to peltwool (Sølje, Tinde, Varde, Blåne), and Ask is a really nice alternative to Raumas Finull. It is a little bit thicker, but they also have a GREAT colour selection. It also comes in cones if you still have enough space in your suitcase🤓

Have a great trip! As a fellow Canadian knitter, I definitely understand the frustration of not being able to find some yarn brands. Gepard garn, hjelholt and Kos are definitely yarns I'd love to try!

If you ever visit Norway, I would definitely recommend visiting the local Husfliden! They often have yarn and other locally made decor and other souvenirs.
