Thanks, Corrie! So nice to hear the old radial engine of the beaver idling at the dock!! Keep up your great work.

It's funny you mention the lovely sound of the radial engine idling at the dock, I thought the same thing when I was recording the footage. Perfectly fitting background "music". Thanks Gavin, I am truly grateful for your always kind words and support. Happy Friday! Best....Corrie

As well as enjoying the skill of the Twin Otter pilots going in and out of their slot it's great to see the Otter pilots reversing around the corners of the pier. Looks like it was a nice day there apart from the slight mist over North Vancouver. The Twin Otter approach was accompanied by the music of an R985 starting up. I had a Google of ICAO swuawk codes and notice that the US and Canada had to be different. Unless you are given any other code tha defaiult code in the US and Canada is 1200 when pretty much the rest of the world use 7000. Also the US and Canada are probably the only two countries in the world using inches of mercury for altimeter setting. The rest of us use hectoPascals (milibars) which i 😊thonk gives better accuracy. One m😊ilibar eqjuals a 33 foot diverence in height.

Ian, you make me smile. Your knowledge never ceases to amaze me. If you don't know, you go find out and then share. I agree, the Twin Otter pilots make it look easy to navigate in and out of their slot. I thought the music of the R985 starting was a perfect background sound. Ian, knew you would appreciate it. Canada often follows the US for some reason, I guess it's our proximity to each other. We are kind of half metric, half imperial. I was in a store the other day and all the produce signs were lbs, not kg, it was strange. Canada changed to metric in 1970, we are a work in progress. Sincere thanks Ian, for your always kind words, knowledgeable engagement and support. Best...Corrie

@@leftcoastcorrie I'm old enough to remember Britain pre metrication. We are still part metric, part imperial. When you look at distance posts on a public footpath it's a toss up whether the distances are in miles and yards or m and metres.

I really like that Haida imagery on the Gulf Island plane. I wonder if they have different animal images on other planes in their fleet? I'm also wondering why Harbour Air doesn't display all of their planes with the red/white livery, since it seems to be popular.

The Haida livery is stunning and reflects the indigenous owned airlines and their heritage. I included the link to the new livery if you'd like to have a look, it's a great story. gulfislandseaplanes.com/introducing-our-new-livery/ I would love to see Harbour Air spice up some of the livery on their seaplanes, they have in the past. There used to be a Vancouver Whitecaps Otter, A Fairmont Hotels Otter, Whistler Otter and a Saltspring Beaver, there were a couple more. I guess they are going with continuity. Thanks for your always kind words, engagement and support, thank you. Best....Corrie
