Thank you. It was difficult without our usual spices and we don't have much variety of food at the moment... But self sufficiency isn't always when you have your massive harvests so doing it now was an intentional challenge.
@@rosesallotmentadventures9365 it sure was a challenge. I was thinking about my own at the moment, and to be honest we have nothing ready for dinner etc. I have been using fruit for breakfast, made some more jam tonight, and smoothies. Will use beetroot ( first time growing) for smoothies with kale, thanks for the idea. Ye did a great challenge, the popcorn was the icing on the cake. 💚🥒🥕🍿
@@lorraineg8134 the beetroot was quite funny... Rose doesn't like it and was hesitant but I reminded her that the most popular juice I buy for her birthday parties with her (and all the kids) is the one with beetroot and carrot in and she was game after that. I never tell the kids what's in it but tell the mums afterwards 😉
@@rosesallotmentadventures9365 oh the secret ingrediants are mums best secrets, now my kids are older, they say' just dont tell me whats in it'🤣. They just drink them. We make sweet potatoe oven chips ( organic, but not our own) love them. Fairplay to Rose for being adventurous with her food, that was a really healthy smoothie. Well done again to you all on a very successful challenge done.
Those tortilla's looked a great idea especially with the rosemary. Always nice to eat the rainbow but sometimes the rainbow isn't quite ready so you have to be inventive. The onions looked lovely and plump.
Watching this video i feel like i am comming from another Planet! Your videos are so calm, relaxing and enjoyable, easy to watch, while mine are so fast!!!
I've been watching Self Sufficient Me and he's doing 21 days of self sufficiency... Doing it now when it's not so easy as self sufficiency won't always be plain sailing. I'm hoping to preserve and store more each year so that'll make it easier too. We shall do more self sufficient weekends, it'll be easier when the apples are ripe too!
Karen, Nick and Rose, hope all is well and that ye are just too busy in life in the garden to make a video, and raking a break. God bless and stay safe. Best wishes from Ireland.
Bless your heart, thank you for thinking of us. Unfortunately I'm not very well so everything is a little neglected at the moment! Had started to make a video mid week with the in of finishing it off this weekend but I was stuck in bed 🤦♀️ I hope to be able to finish it off this week xx Karen.
@@rosesallotmentadventures9365 oh bless you Karen, will say a little prayer and light a feel well candle for your fast healing. Rest up pet. I've been checking on, but said id leave a messege, thinking you or Nick would see. God bless and chat soon. Thanks for replying, sorry i gave in and said i would messege Miss your cheery smiles and adventures. Something for you to þhink about, might pick your brains for your kind of coleslaw you make, as you make wonderful things. Sending lots of Irish hugs and best wishes.
@@lorraineg8134 I'm so touched you've been checking, thank you. It was kind of you to leave a message ❤️ My favourite coleslaw is shredded white cabbage, grated carrot, crated Cheddar cheese, onion chopped up small, apple cut into small cubes and sultanas. Add mayonnaise and stir. Yum! X
@@rosesallotmentadventures9365 oh Karen that sounds so yum. Will try that. I have been making white cabbage, carrots shredded, olive oil with mayo, salt and pepper. I tried with purple cabbage too. Definitely going to try your recipe. As alway a gem you are. Now rest up and take the time out till you are fully healed. God bless you.

That's very kind of you, thank you. You have some very good video skills on yours. And a great message of course.
Just a shame you didn't wait to do the experiment when the tomatoes were ripe! Still, good fun!
