Very inform video, very useful if i visit friends in France by car.
@@bristolveggiebeds5310 thank you Helen. The system is changing from November 10th (brexit rules taking over and we will be treated as a 3rd world country so expect delays) but we are going back after that so we can do an update!
A quick trip all the same, i read up above 90 mins, thats a super, great weather you all had. Well deserved break.
@@LorraineG123 thank you 😘 Before we were going. We wanted to watch a guide so we knew what to expect but all we could find were old videos or no narration so I decided to fix that 😉 Thank you for watching xx
@rosesallotmentadventures9365 good idea guys, updated info. Very handy.

What lovely sunny weather for the trip Karen 👍. Our ferry terminals are always backed up for miles, yours are so quick. Looks like fun how long does the actual ferry take to get to the other side? Thanks for sharing ladies ❤, Ali ☔️☔️🇨🇦
@@myrustygarden hi Ali. It took about 90 minutes so not too bad at all. We were aiming to arrive an hour before departure as suggested and we were definitely right to do so. Things are changing soon though as the results of brexit come in and it definitely won't be this smooth!

Can I use grape seed oil instead of olive oil?

I will never use glass in a greenhouse again 😢and I advise anyone who has a dog to get rid of the glass fatale!
Oh no, it sounds like you've had some experience with that. Is your dog OK?
I used 1/4 cup of my lemon balm infused olive oil combined with 7g of bees wax. It made exactly 6, 1/2oz little containers of the lip balm. Thank you! (I also infused some calendula with the olive oil and lemon balm)
That's brilliant 💚

Can u use cocoa butter instead of beeswax?
Yes you can. It'll create a slightly softer texture but you'll be fine ☺️
😋😋 Mmm...that looks delicious! If I need 40 grams of lemon balm, I might need to get another plant, lol. Thank you for this recipe.
Lol. It soon wracks up the weight. Ours is quite a big plant even though I vigorously cut it back every year, it grows everywhere and self seeds all over the place 🙈
@@rosesallotmentadventures9365 Well, I live in Minnesota & lemon balm is unfortunately only an annual here. I bring a pot indoors for the winter months. It makes such a lovely tea.
@@kimerickson1353 ah I see. I've just had a quick Google and your winters are a lot harsher than ours in the UK. Brrr !
@@rosesallotmentadventures9365 Lol, the winters here in Minnesota are a lot milder than what I'm used to. I'm originally from western Canada & it was quite common to have long periods of temperatures in the -40°C to -45°C range with the windchill during the winter months. The summer months though, were quite lovely but not long enough to grow lemon balm to any great size. So, I bring a pot of that & other herbs indoors for the winter so that I have a fresh supply handy.
I've got lemon balm drying as I write this. Once I've let it infuse, I am most definitely going to make this. Our winters are cold & this will be quite handy. Thank you!
That's great to hear. Lemon balm can get enthusiastic when it grows so it's good to have some recipes lined up! Do come back and let me know what you think of the lip balm 💚 And if you still have an excess of lemon balm, let me know if you'd like a recipe for ice cream which is heavenly 😁

You can also use G clips too. They're quite handy.
Spatulas aren't necessary if you have clean hands.
Thank you
Could you take the dried leaves and put it in a double boiler with the olive oil for a few hours? I saw that method on another video for plantain salve, but I am not sure if it carries over to lemon balm?
Yes you can use the double boiler method. Keep the heat low and keep checking that your water hasn't evaporated. Let me know how you get on 💚
@@rosesallotmentadventures9365 Thanks so much!
When you pick them freeze them for 24 hours, then dry them and they will stay nice and beautiful and yellow. You won't get the seed. They are still alive and trying to help their seeds turn into the flowor.
À great tip, thank you 💚
I have some vegetable oil which I dont want to use for cooking but I dont want it to waste. Could I use that in place of some or all of the olive oil?
I don't see why not. I've not done it myself. Let me know how it goes if you do it 😊
I just made my second batch. My first batch was year ago and I used fresh dandelions. It is still going strong. I am making this batch for my parents birthdays. Thank you so much for this recipe!!!!
That's awesome. It makes a great gift, that's very thoughtful of you 🥰
For your mom, you might add cayenne powder. Just a touch is good for arthritis. Reassessed Research it ice heard it can help in small amount for that size probably a half a teaspoon. And make sure she uses gloves when applying it so she doesn't get it in her eyes. Thank you for teaching us. I'm definitely going to make some for me and my daughter and a friend who deals with pain issues. Keep up the good work. Have a blessed day.
😀Thank you so much! I tried the recipe last year and am getting ready to make a new batch. I can freeze it or keep it in the fridge to make it last longer. I am going to add a bit more wax and shea butter to increase the firmness as mine came out a bit tooo soft.
Fantastic. It's such a great salve, isn't it. Always worth having on hand 💚
Just starting my first batch. Little more confident after your video. Thank you.
That's great to hear! Do come back and let me know how you get on 😁💚
I am very new to harvesting and using dandelions. Right now I have some tincture brewing. I am wondering, after reading all the wonderful comments, maybe I could just use some of the tincture to make a salve? But thinking about it further may be the liquid Would not be good? Hmm 🤔
How did you make your tincture? You may be OK
I I one quart made and another waiting for my attention. I ended up with 16 tins from one quart. I used coca butter for mine, plus I made 8 with lavender and 8 with spearmint . Once they are completely cool then I’ll start making the second quart of dandelion oil, which I’ve already drained and sealed . But looks like I’m back at it again
Very industrious! Great to hear from you Sarah 💚
Can you use coconut instead of shea butter?
Absolutely 😊
How do you keep your dandelion honey from crystallizing
It can eventually crystallise, ours started to once opened after a good few months of being opened. You can avoid this by using small jars and hence using up the honey before it has a chance to crystallise or, as I did, stand the jar which had started to crystallise, in hot water. I will say that after about 6 months of being open, the only crystallisation is at the thin layer around the edge at the top, not in the bulk of the honey. This product crystallises a lot less than bees honey
Can black seed oil be addad?
Absolutely 😊
Thank you for this, I need to replace loads and was very imitated by it but you made it look so easy and relaxed! Still worried about how to manage with one in the roof but you’ve given me the confidence to get started and the idea to buy some new clips.
I'm so glad the video has given you the confidence to replace your glass. The ones in the roof are just the same, only on a slight slope. You got this 🤩
Ik have made this salve last year and it is amazing. I can't wait for new dandelions . I will make it again 😁
That's great to hear 💚 I'm so glad you liked it
I just made my first batch of dandelion salve With mango butter, I added lavender essential oil and raven essential oils from my Young Living Business. Thank you so much for showing me how to prepare and make this this dandelion salve I have arthritis, fibromyalgia, and chronic back pain I use frankincense from my Young Living Business in a diffuser, and it helps me sleep every night from my pain and discomfort for having fibromyalgia, I wanted to try to make this dandelion salve to see if it can help with my lower back pain. I have also used the dandelions to make a really nice dandelions tea. It is amazing once again thank you so much for sharing. Peace and love Syvella .
Hello Syvella thank you for your comment. Fibromyalgia is so painful, I hope this helps you as much as it helps me.. The tea is a great idea too 🥰
Lower back issues, rub your lymphatic system toward your heart, stretch everyday, drink water. Use food vitamins, vitamin d3k2, Magnesium glycinate, and fish oil everyday this process has changed my body. I was told to take extra b vitamins so i take "Vitamin Code Raw B complex" but not the full amount. Of course you do what your body needs. I was outa wack, doctors said I was getting old to live with it. I said God you know what I need lead me to it and Wala no more pain. Glory to the Lord. He answers those who seek him.

🤣🤣🤣 Funnily enough that's our project for this year (the wine, we won't be using our feet lol!)
I'll make it and carry it
Fantastic! It's great stuff 💚
Please can you tell me where did you buy the sheets?
I had these lying around but you can just order them online pre cut to size
Did it work?
Hi Chloe, yes it did!
This sounds great. I grow a lot of Lemon balm at my garden for teas, and just this Christmas I made an organic Calendula skin balm as presents for my family. willl have to try this as soon as I can. what program do you use to print your labels? it would be good to do that as well.
Hi there I think I used the Avery label software, otherwise just mocked something up on word, nothing fancy. If you have lots of lemon balm, check out my other lemon balm recipes 💛💚
It works better than cbd cream.
I didn't get on very well with cbd, I'm glad this works for you too 🥰
