    Starting the day off hangover free has been so lovely! Yesterday I woke up energized and was able to visit my grandma and a friend who's going through cancer...
    In my previous state I wouldn't have been able to show up for them! I left feeling so proud and woke up with the same feeling today 💓
    Beginning day 10!!

    • @GettingSoberAgain
      @GettingSoberAgain  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh wow Erika that's huge!!! You know there are two groups of people who I love hearing from the most and those are:
      A. Parents who are getting sober and are spending more quality time with their kids.
      B. People like yourself who have close people in their lives that are going through some sort of pain and trauma and are able to show up for them and be present and be their best self!
      I'm very proud of you for your self-awareness and understanding that sobriety isn't just for you. Of course we do it first and foremost for ourselves. But once we get all of this positive momentum behind us, it starts to radiate out to our friends, our family, and the people we care about the most.
      I've had handfuls of people who've told me that they wouldn't have been able to have been there for their loved ones who were terminally ill had. They not gotten sober. And it's truly a gift that you are choosing this time and this place to make strides towards being your best self. Good for you and I'm happy for your loved ones getting the best of you 🙏🏼

      Don’t give up! My hubby said it was hardest thing he ever did. Then he had his knee surgery and had trouble getting off the pain pills. His liver was injured from hepatitis C . Years of not having a name for it,a cure for it,.he was still fuzzy headed until we had Dr delete his Lipitor. You can do it. I’m a nurse and most of the illnesses I’ve seen were from smoking or drinking.

    Found this channel on day one. I now have 10 days! I’ve gone much longer than this before and relapsed again and again just because. But this time I am USING MY MIND to stay sober and not just will power. It is a finesse to remain clean and it really is one day at a time. I noticed in the past I would allow triggers to turn into a relapse (maybe not day of) but the next day or subconsciously plan to drink later. I am taking my sobriety very serious and understanding that today really does depict tomorrow! Good luck everyone. Thanks Jae!

      So many people fail just to get to 3 days sober. Just work on 1 day at a time....This is a very critical time and its easy to relapse. You should be proud of yourself. Now feed off of your momentum, and focus on self care, rest when you need to rest, nap, get to bed early and wake up late if you have do. Withdrawal cravings are no joke!

I'm not an alcoholic, but I am making a decision to go Alcohol Free for 30 days (I did it before in 2019) and the reason is, I'm tired of feeling like poop! And I'm also kinda sick of all the wasted time. Not only drinking, which doesn't always feel wasted (no pun intended) in the moment, but the time after. . . it's like I couldn't wait to get home to sleep to waste even more time. smh
