Filming Outlander, which is set in the 1700s, has apparently given series star Sam Heughan an affection and taste for the historical era in which it takes place. And now, he's acted upon that affinity by purchasing a farmhouse in his native Scotland that was built circa 1775! Located just a 20-minute drive from Glasgow, the remodeled Cawdermill House was originally used as an inn with stables, according to the real estate agent Savills. Its list price was a minimum of £895,000, and it's rumored that Heughan (who plays hot Scot Jamie Fraser on the hit Starz series) paid a cool £1,000,000 to get the deal done.
Heughan has made no secret of the fact that he loves his homeland. He previously told Parade.com that no matter where his acting career takes him, Scotland will always be his home.
“I will always have a place there,” he said. “Something I keep asking myself is where will I go when Outlander is all done? I don’t know. I don’t know what will happen. What is life after Jamie Fraser?” The modernized property boasts an open floor plan; the living room, up-to-date gourmet kitchen with center island, and dining room all flow into one another. Meanwhile, Sam Heughan reckons Jamie Fraser wouldn't like him because he's a 'stupid' actor. I am so glad to see these little pieces of Sam and Katrina on on outlander comments it shows that they're real people and they have real lives but they get along great on set and that's madly made me what make the show what it is today I don't know what I do without outlander I love it and I watch it whenever I can I rewatch it too I rewatched the wedding singing about 10 times now I love it I love different parts of it too I love the parts where they finally get to Frasier's ridge I love that I love the whole thing I hope it continues

Amen absolutely it's sooooooooooo aggravating when all they have to do is watch an episode of Outlander and a well made video with someone who knows how to pronounce name's CORRECTLY. This is fake, no house like this in Glasgow on the outside but the inside is his Cawdermill Home, (google it) that he uses for interviews and vids especially outdoors. Cawdermill house was built in the 1700's and renovated b4 S bot it 3 yrs ago. He has made some color changes on the inside. This outside is a joke compared to the inside

It is not his home. He lives in a stone farmhouse that dates back to the eighteenth century about 20 minutes outside Glasgow. The property has been updated.

Sam has an incredible problem with truth. His preferences, his addiction S, his relationships/‘snd especially his multiple relationships. It’s very sad. ESP for his child. Addiction is extremely hard to overcome and “ the girls get prettier at closing time”. Mom keep praying the roots are getting deeper. Just stand firm 😊
