Definitely looking forward to more of your videos on the Trillium. I’m restoring my trillium too, and will greatly benefit from seeing what you’re doing. I subscribed!
I've looked all over TH-cam to find some good Trillium restoration videos and there just is not much out there. Very nice to find yours and I'm looking forward to seeing ones on how you did your belly band and eventually your windows. My Trillium door has been good so far, but I'm sure that will need being done someday! Would love to see a video of just an overall view of your trailer and what your plans are for it.
Hey 20footloose, The belly band video will be out Saturday, and the windows one will take time. I like your idea of an overall plan video. Please feel free to share my videos as well as anything you can add to the restoration process. I’m not a pro or anything but am happy to share what I’m learning. Cheers.
Hey DUNE ATV, Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad to hear you find it to be a gem like I do. I will definitely post more restoration videos along with other more directly Jeep related videos. Cheers.
Have Dave, That's great!!! Welcome aboard. You might find last Saturday's video interesting, especially whats first prize. It could come in handy. Cheers.
This is very useful, I have some cracks on my door frame that I am concerned about and how to fix and to make sure door continues to close…..we will see!
Hey Ramona, I’m glad you found this video helpful also. I’ll be doing some more restoration type videos for the trailer also but it won’t be for a few weeks. I hope that you’ll enjoy them as well. Cheers
Hey Ramona, I chose to use a beefier #10 screw. I used 1” on the trailer side and 3/4” on the door side. Flat headed screws were used. I plan to get stainless steel ones. At the time of the repair I couldn’t find any so I used zinc plated to finish the job until I find some. I hope that helped. Cheers
Hey Dino, just re-watched your video and I have two questions. It feels overall my door feels hollow, is this normal as I thought there is normally plywood in it? And did u rehab your hinge set at all? Mine has been caked with caulking or something. I plan on doing this in the next week or two. Thanks again
Hey Ramona, I believe the only wood in the door is where the hinges are located, other than that I think it’s supposed to be hollow, so it’s all light in weight. My hinge set were clean so I did t have caulking g or anything in them. Keep an eye open for this Saturday’s video. You will find it interesting I think. Cheers
Hey Jendell Overland, Unfortunately not. It won’t be ready. I’ll be sharing details of my Cape Breton Overlanding adventure as well as sharing details on how my rig is set up with my gear. I’m looking forward to seeing you there. Cheers.
@@CheaperJeeperTV I'm looking forward to this event, plus all of the vendors and special guests like yourself. We'll have to shoot another video together
Hey Robert, Thats an excellent idea. I am inexperienced with this sort of job, so I wasn't sure how lined up an epoxied-in-place insert would be with where it should be, with respect to hinge locations. With the wood dowel, I could play with lining up the hinge, door and trailer, before committing to drilling the pilot holes for the screws. Cheers.
@@CheaperJeeperTV work exactly like putting in the dowels centre in hole. another method maybe riv-nuts but not sure of the strength of the fiberglass to hold a swinging weight
It’s true. I’ve seen some come up in Facebook groups but you never know their real condition until you see them in person. Also it depends on where you live. Good luck in your search. Cheers

Hey Camp Boulder,
Thank you. It's all new to me, but I'm glad to share what I'm learning along the way.
I'm restoring a Trillium too and now I'm suscribed to you both! 👍
Hey 20footloose,
Thank you.
Cheers
You're always thinking out of the box. Good idea that you boxed in the dowel with the fiberglass sheet.
Hey Michael,
Thanks for the vote of approval. I think you will like next week’s work on the belly band repair. Cheers.

Hi Dino! Hat size and type of screw? Mine are rusty and the hinges are too a bit. Thanks so much!!!

Interesting video. That should work out well for you!
Hey Randy, Thanks. I have a bit more work to do before it’s ready to go out camping, but am enjoying getting it ready.

How about drilling straight through and put some pretty stainless bolts with nice acorn nuts and washers inside?
Hey brickwall326,
That’s a good idea! Thanks. I may do something like that if I need to make a more permanent fix. Cheers.
Is this what you'll be bringing to the expo in a couple of weeks?

I was thinking epoxy in some threaded inserts and using pan head bolts
