Great video! I never really thought looking at the divine skills on how generic they could be, but that is a really fun way to look at them. So my quick opinon on the divine skills (In one word!) Varga: Finisher Welstra: Setup Rezael: Support Krysrain: Utility (Now time for more words) Varga & Welstra are both pretty easy to understand. Rezael, I call him support, cause he support future aggression but also adds potentially more survivability. Krysrain I call Utility, cause in many ways its the weakest. But it can also be used in the most situations. It can be used to help go for game, push for damage, add shield back to hand (You could even add back sentinels if there is a reborn effect in Lyrical), add back cards with powerful On Place effects, etc. Overall, great diversity in initially divine skills.
Very interesting perspective on Rezael. I felt the same way when I first saw it as well. Having different Grade 3 VGs at different points of a game was one of the things I really enjoyed about Vanguard and I felt we haven't really had an instance where that is really possible anymore or see it less outside the G zone granting you access to different strides for different situations. DivineZ is truly a breath of fresh air and after being on-and-off Standard (and possibly Vanguard in general), this entire set and direction of the game is definitely grabbing my attention again.
Actually what I've been chatting about with friends too, Rezael as a surprise 'Legion' in other Keter decks just sounds herlla fun. And might even see some play in Premium (for me it's Royals)
Rezael + a stride that copies his ability could be nice. Chainrancor might be better than Crystaluster though since it’s easier to call G0’s and 1’s than 2’s and 3’s.
Good point about Varga, I think I'd go with the Idosfaro (blue) OT because it's a restand deck so extra crit is always welcome (even moreso than usual), plus if your opponent's at 4 and you hit it on the first set of drive checks your next 2 swings are going to be for game.
I might actually consider running Idosfaro in Vargas just for having more Crit triggers in my deck (9 instead of 8) to check for Vargas pressure. (and recycling PGs/Rear-Guards that got retired by Vargas as additional benefit...
One thing you've not also taking into account for Krysrain is Primium highlander lists just got a solid new toy too, and you can also use her as an alt vanguard in Petralka decks, which were already highlander
I want to call it now but I think new Zorga will be able to directly search for Orders to make doing Alchemagic easier. Probably as part of his Divine Skill.
I put 2 varga in my overlord, and it seemed to do okay. The end is really good at taking out opponent hands and building your own, assuming you are able to use halbe. So in a situation where you know your opponent has low shield value, varga's potential 3 attacks feel really strong and a fun alternate win condition
a bit of oot but do you record this in a dark since the background only reflect the camera light lol anyway hopefully you pull SEC varga since its the most expensive i believe
So here's my question, with Rezael, does his Divine Skill apply for the whole game, or is it just the turn you use it? I know it says on the card "for this fight" but I'm assuming thats just for the other part of the skill. If it lets you check crits or whatever as 6th damage for the whole rest of the game then that's insane.
My biggest issue with divine skills is that it feels like the decks are built around them They should feel like add ons to the deck which you may not always wa nt to use each game
Great video I do like divine skills as well and once per game effects. I know in dragon ball super fusion world. The player going second gets an extra energy and once you use that energy to pay a cost it is banished for the rest of the game. Which is cool in my opinion.
I feel as though Krysrain has potential but she needs help. The guard restrict alone helps out greatly but she needs more tgan just that. Marlene seems to be the way to go and possibly use Krysrain as a finisher of sorts.
Idk if I really have a ranking for the cards in a vacuum, but i wasn't thinking about running some of these as pivots in other decks. That's axtually kind of neat. Especially Razael in Youthberk. Nao is bae btw ❤
Honestly had no idea people were complaining about staying on 1 vanguard, I much prefer the idea of picking a boss and sticking with it. Maybe it's because of persona ride existing now but the idea of reriding into something else feels icky, idk why exactly Aside from that, do love the idea of Divine Skills, but I do wish more were like setup/v-star powers as you said. Chances are that the final push turn where you want to use the more offensive skills to kill would've just ended up being a winning turn regardless, so it almost feels wasted
Tbh, i can't see those bosses being splashed in other decks, just like any other boss unit in standard. I think we'll slowly but surely get Dskills for all decks, with either a new version of the main g3, or rearguards/orders with Dskills. Personally Welstra Dskill feels like one the the better ones, considering what that deck wants to do, both Rezael and Varga are cool and Krysrain is heavily dependent on rearguard support, so i can't really judge it by its own merits.
Something about Krysrain speaks to me, I think I’ll finally build a Lyrical deck just so I can play her. I’ve had the Kairi Trial Deck sitting around collecting dust for a while so I’ve at least got a set of triggers and PGs to mitigate costs.
as a former " I'll never touch bermuda triangle/lyrical monasterio stuff " player, I feel the same about krysrain, there is something about her that make me wanna play her. already started to test her on CFA and she is really nice
Up until now I've been a Brandt Gate user. I find Welstra very under whelming compared to the others. I'm probably going to build Rezael or Varga . That said ,I did just order a Nao deck box from Bushiroad.
If there is a call from drop after Zorga with Divine Skill attacks and you Alchemagic this turn, then it will be the key card like Prison Dragon in Zorga deck.
Valid points all around good Annalise of each of the divine skills as well as their overall mechanics potential and ability. Krysrain was actually my most anticipated card as this pirate absolutely loves lyrical ❤❤ however her debut was extremely deflating 😭 she definitely has potential for growing and she’s not quite as restricted in terms of card options as other Highlander decks are. However it terms of overall quality she very much lower on the totem pol. She can get better depending on future support however. Varga definitely seems like he will be a strong contender moving forward for sure as the deck even now seems really solid. Not a dragon empire enthusiast however so the deck is a pass for me regardless how good it is. Rezael … however has a lot of potential as it’s really only locked behind the individual player’s ability to think outside the box in terms of gameplay mechanics as well as individual creativity. And as you said he also has more flexibility in terms of being used as a finisher in other keter decks as his utility is just that good. Rez may not be my ideal Goth angel feather esk deck I was hoping for😭 however as far as potential possibilities goes he’s at the top next to Krysrain for me. Appreciate the video as well as your thoughts as always
The lyrical really should’ve just been in f. Her divine skill is literally just a once per turn skill, making her only go to 4 attacks which is awful since standard is basically 5+ attack oriented every turn at this point. They shafting lyrical once again for zero reason til they randomly make one broken support card that will make everyone hate the deck
Attacking with Varga no skill checking Dragveda, using the Divine Skill, then using the normal skill to re-stand would be a total of 6 potential attacks in a turn (4 of them with 100,000,000 Power!) with *10* Drive Checks. It would be incredible to see happen at least once, but that's extreme even by anime standards.
@@kodokutamashi1569 Well, yeah, it's like betting everything on roulette. Going for it is completely foolish, but the payoff is unbelievable. I struggle to think of a situation where you would realize that such a play is your only chance to win (you know your opponent has 3 Sentinels in hand?). In fact if it's that down to the wire you might even deck out with so many checks.
Honestly.... i find razael super crazy.... but man..... something 100% scares me about seeing a deck with ONLY CRITS AND FRONTS.... no pg's, no heals, probs no draws, etc. like the anime did.....
Personally not a fan of Razael's Divine Skill. It doesn't actually do anything to advance your gamestate, it _maybe_ heals you and is a third check that _maybe_ will be a trigger and _probably_ you'll check more triggers throughout the game if you don't die before that. If Razael was a mill deck I would have liked it a lot more, like you milk yourself hard, shuffle all triggers back and mitigate said mill. Also I don't think any deck would ever want to ride a Fated One on top of their regular vanguard, D's design philosophy doesn't allow that, a good chunk of cards in your deck would just become vanillas (like the mentioned FullBlast).
Rezael only needs Cadowalla plus Sergaon to be bread and butter for the deck. Unless the opponent's deck is the one that can constantly have a full field, you can always get 2 cards with those 2 above and they will be recalled each turn.
This video isn't a tier list for divide skills. It's a call for help.
Great video! I never really thought looking at the divine skills on how generic they could be, but that is a really fun way to look at them.

I heard that the Nao sleeves and deck boxes were selling out fast in Japan... Glad I pre-ordered my set on Ami Ami.
Took a break from vanguard since the end of willdress but this seems a lot more fun! Excited for the new era!
Preach fellow Nao simp
Still waiting for my sleeves to arrive 😭

I hope Blangdmire will be broken. I expect Suo to bulldoze through everyone in the Clash (except for MC due to plot armor)

Yeah Krysrain is a bit too predictable (despite being ever changing), but im sticking with my nation till the end.
Yo welcome back Kris
I was wondering if you'd make "every archetype in DZ-BT01" like you did with SV?
I want to call it now but I think new Zorga will be able to directly search for Orders to make doing Alchemagic easier. Probably as part of his Divine Skill.
Not strong enough lol. If that is Divine Skill then it's garbage and would actually be the worst of all Fate One's deck.
Kris has priority guys......respect the man Waifu (NGL Nao and Mikoto are high on waifu list)

For the rest of the game but just one time, you get a Crit/Draw/Front/OV on 6th damage, you heal and that's it, can't heal with other triggers

Krysrain sounds like a cool Reindeer target.
I reccomend looking at the Wixoss game design if you like games that have 1/game skills

Krysrains divine skill felt like it wanted to mix kairis bounce ability with ahsha fairy tokens
Also orfist needs an order search divine skill 😮
wanna ask, the 2nd eff for impale horn dragon can be activate even when i am not bosting varga or not?
No! You NEED to boost Varga for the draw.
You can splash welstra if they make products themselves more generic
In prem most of the units will be used as a second vg
Varga's play style reminds me more of a simplified Tachikaze play style. Also I prefer the blue overtrigger

A lot of Standard decks, good ones, only do 4 attacks.
They do do it every turn though.

If you don't rip the OT on the first attack you don't even get the rest of the attacks. That feels way too risky to me.
It's not how that work! Everyone will use Varga's first skill as there is no way to know that you will check Dragveda.
