I'm an absolute beginner after downloading Photoshop yesterday and using it for the first time ever! Followed this tutorial and made my very first piece of art and it's awesome! Wasn't to sure about the importing of an image in this tutorial however everything else you've covered I now use as a base for all of my star work (About to start my next one) but i've got to keep referring to this video! When it comes to the render clouds step, could you instead just draw in shapes in different layers at different opacities to replicate the same effect later on but have a more cartoony look?

Thanks. There was no oil pastel 63 option in my version of Photoshop but I managed to find one that worked just as well (option 60 Pastel). Thanks so much otherwise, this helped a ton.

So I wasn't able to quite make this, which I am saddened to admit, I won't give up. But what I was able to make fills me with no small amount of joy. There's something to be said about making something from scratch lol. This is going to allow me to do some fun stuff with the pictures that I take.

PS: Where do I get all those brushes that you have? The photoshop that I have doesn't include them.

When I try to set the levels of the stars to 150, set it to screen and copy the layer. The stars just don't show up
