It's quite well known that spouses and family members utilize their close ones' identity to commit voting (and other kinds) of fraud. There are many systems implemented to stop such fraud, and as with all crimes the criminals find a way around it. If you want to go into conspiracy theory levels of this fraud, you could claim that the Democrats and Republicans are actively using dead people to vote in their favor. This was claimed both when Trump and Biden won. However, this is only a theory as it has never been proved that the parties perform such acts. Maybe they have, maybe not.

I think this also works the other way around as well. We shouldn't just blindly believe every random conspiracy theory we hear it can be just as harmful as the former.
To echo a point another commenter made, we don't want to swing too far in the other direction and believe all theories. Some actually are crackpots, and we still should demand evidence. In other words, we should neither dismiss nor adopt out of hand - we need to investigate, think critically, and see where evidence takes us.
MK Ultra is the main reason I'll never trust the government. No one was punished for it, no one was fired, no one was demoted or reprimanded - most of the people involved at the tippy top of MK Ultra have airports named after them now.

I think the Birds aren't real conspiracy is more of a meme theory. That being said, If I believed that governments where actually capable of making flight capable drones that could be disguised as life like avians. I'd just assume this was a thing. Not all birds mind you, but enough. I just don't think they are capable of this yet. They can make lifelike model's with semi convincing motion, (it's actually pretty easy with birds and reptiles as their movements are already quite jerky). The real issue is getting a convincing model flight capable. It's not a thing yet, but in 10-20 years it could actually happen. The worst part is, like a lot of such inventions, and even government plots, we will have been the ones to give them the idea. That and the meme will make people less willing to believe it is being done.
We should start making a distinction between a conspiracy hypothesis, conspiracy theory, and history. Because a true conspiracy theory eventually becomes all three of those things.

No, that could easily be just as ridiculous, e.g. "chem trails" are not a CIA/government thing. Aircraft contrails are a thing. There are a million other stupid things that people say the government's doing. It's almost like you actually have to look into the details and know what you are talking about instead of using the subject (the US government) and guessing based on your opinion.

To echo a point another commenter made, we don't want to swing too far in the other direction and believe all theories. Some actually are crackpots, and we still should demand evidence. In other words, we should neither dismiss nor adopt out of hand - we need to investigate, think critically, and see where evidence takes us.

It would be better to scrap NASA and focus on Oceanic exploration and mapping at the moment since we aren't even in the remote realm of being able to mine asteroids and we pay people to sit around and effectively do nothing of worth. Sure, some of the tech we got from the space race was neat, but overall nothing revolutionary or beneficial, just toys that corporations like to sell us and false promises.

I think the Birds aren't real conspiracy is more of a meme theory. That being said, If I believed that governments where actually capable of making flight capable drones that could be disguised as life like avians. I'd just assume this was a thing. Not all birds mind you, but enough.
I just don't think they are capable of this yet. They can make lifelike model's with semi convincing motion, (it's actually pretty easy with birds and reptiles as their movements are already quite jerky). The real issue is getting a convincing model flight capable. It's not a thing yet, but in 10-20 years it could actually happen. The worst part is, like a lot of such inventions, and even government plots, we will have been the ones to give them the idea. That and the meme will make people less willing to believe it is being done.

We should start making a distinction between a conspiracy hypothesis, conspiracy theory, and history. Because a true conspiracy theory eventually becomes all three of those things.
