There is definitely a grinding sound. But as I mentioned to another commenter, remember that the camera is at the same level as the eBosser and the mic is pointed right at it. (By comparison, I'm standing behind the mic 2 feet and above, so it sounds much louder that it really is IRL.) Thanks for your comment!

I got my ebosser from HSN when they had free shipping and I love it! I like it because I can use all different kinds of dies and embossing folders in one machine. It ends up saving you money because you don't have to have a separate machine for each type of die or embossing folder. No matter how thin or thick, it goes through like a dream!

Oh fantastic. This looks brilliant. Although I'm a late night crafter, and this machine sounds a little loud to be using at 1am at night, lol. But I love how it can take 8 1/2 x 11 papers. Lee x

Andrea- the specs on a Sizzix Pro Die is that the are 12 inches across. Since the opening of the eBosser is only 8.5 inches, Pro Dies will not fit.

Joan- it really isn't any louder than a Vagabond (I have one of those, too.) I think it's because the camera is at the same level as the machine and pointed right at it that it seems so loud. (In comparison, I'm standing BEHIND the mic and above it, so I'm much further away.) Hope this helps!

I have the eBosser... Love, love... Love it.... Not that loud & very easy to use, & I am able to use all my other stuff, from other machines with this size ... Instructions tell you that if it jams... It will automatically go into reverse to spit out the plate stack... Yes, indeed... This is true... I didn't want to pay $200 +, for a New-BEE 🐝... So found a good deal... Everything included... For $35... Plus shipping.... I went searching for all new plates & got backups... Why, because like so many good things... When it's gone... It's freakin gone... So happy with this machine & the greatest thing is that it is electric... My hands 👐 wouldn't take a Crank out any more.... Best second hand product I've ever gotten.... It was well used by the previous owner but, treated with love... No cracks or scratches.... 📌💝🌹... xo 🎶

Caryn- I don't have any Sizzix Pro Dies, but the specs online say that they are 12 inches across. The opening for the eBosser is 8.5 inches. So I think that's a "no." But the BigZ dies by Sizzix will work. Hope this helps-J

I have the eBosser by craft well & I just love it!!! I use it a lot!! It's so easy & fun to use. I've made the bigger cards with eBosser embossing plates as well as used other embossing plates & dies. Works great!!! I saw it on HSN but didn't buy it then and Oh, was I ever sorry I didn't. It took me quite a while to find where I could purchase one.

That depends more on the die you use rather than the machine.

Does this cut medium weight chipboard? And will it cut completely the thin rosette die by Tim Holtz

From what I know, it will still be $199 but you can use flex-pay. I don't know if there will be additional bundles available.

Oh geeze it's so stinkin' loud that's horrible. I do have a Vagabond and definitely quieter isn't any louder than the Cricut. Your reviews are always awesome tho and your enthusiasm is always present.

You don't need a magnetic plate- they have a magnetic shim to use (not sure if it's included with the starter kit or not) and it works just fine. I wouldn't bother with it.

First thing I see in my mind - how or why do I have to support those large plates and base myself? Why not include a platform to help feed the plates into the opening? Because of plain old physical ergonomics, (my arthritic wrists/fingers are experiencing trouble), I need to consider getting an electric die-cutter. But I could see myself having trouble supporting- even briefly - that sandwich of plates, too bad!

Can you use the genius magnetic plate with the ebosser? They are not 8 1/2 wide so I don't know if it would work. They are made for the big shot, cuttlebug openings. don't want to ruin my machine so want to check before I use it.

Do you know if this will be cheaper when it is on HSN on Tuesday. I had it in my cart but I am thinking I should wait. Great review.

I know, from watching that good or bad you're going to tell like it is (M.S.) new score board. So, would "you" use the eBosser over any of your other like machines? Let's face it, we don't usually get rid of one in favor of another product if they're good. Our supplies just grow like wet gremlins in the night? RIGHT? Wake up & OMG!!! I want it. I have a big shot. I want it. I'm on a very lean pension. I want it. Arthritis is crippling my hands. You would do what? Seriously, I do trust your judgment. Thx Jenny. Lynda Thomas I finally broke down and bought the eBosser because the big shot was killing my shoulder and my hand (arthritis). I love this thing!
It cute every different kind of die I have --- and embossed three pieces of cardstock at one time --- very well! I'd recommend this machine in a heartbeat!
