    I purchased this back in February from Joann's with a 50% off coupon...so I got it for $60!!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!!! But alas, I broke it on May 10 trying to cut a piece of mat board and I immediately contacted Fiskars and I received my replacement on June 4th....so in addition to finally having a paper trimmer that cuts straight AND smooth, I have the VERY best Customer Service from Fiskars!!!!!! Doing the "happy dance"!!!! Thanks Jenny, for convincing me to buy this trimmer!

    Glad I found this review, new at papercrafting and am thrilled with my purchase. l am looking forward to discovering what this can offer in my hobbies. I have already tested on 5-6 oz. leather and cut like butter! Thank you Fiskers for a great product! Learning calligraphy and want to make my own cards and envelopes. This is perfect. Will devise a measurement marker to fill in the missing measurements, seems like an easy fix. Thanks again and GOD Bless!

    Scrapstreams- YES!!! This is the one of the two cutters that stay on my worktable permanently. I use it DAILY to cut down larger sheets of paper. I still have to turn to my Martha Stewart cutting board at times for small cuts of 1.5 inches or less. But the Fiskars ProCision is my workhorse. LOVE it. Worth the cash.

    This trimmer has a *self-sharpening* rotary blade, which I love! I can cut anything on this trimmer, and it's perfect every time. Love the fact I'm no longer having to purchase multiple packs of replacement blades. If you get it on sale and/or with a coupon, it's a great deal.

  • @twinstar9
    @twinstar9 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    No you can't lift the blade and cut in the middle of the paper. You have to cut from one end or the other end. But I still love mine. You can use a cheaper cutter for partial middle cuts.

    How are the measurements? I have a Fiskars cutter with the swing out arm. I cut paper for card making & it is always off just a tiny bit, I don't remember which markings. But after folding my cards I have to trim them up to match. I hate it! I'm also tired of having to replace my blades every few weeks. The reviews I've read for this one look good, but I am wondering about the measurements. Thanks!

    hi im looking for paper cutter that i can use to make paper quilling strips.. i know this can cut very finely without any problem but my question is can i easily make a uniform cut of 3mm (smallest strips for paper quilling)? does it have stopper at the end (after the blade) so to precisely cut small size? or its only the flipper transparent that will serve as paper stopper? Thanks...

  • @crafttestdummies
    @crafttestdummies  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    AH! Now I get it. NO, you cannot lift the blade and place it in the middle of the paper to start a cut. The blade is a rotary blade, and a big one at that. You'd need a trimmer with a small pinpoint blade for that- like the Martha Stewart Trimmer. Best, -J

  • @kimbrown8643

    Thank you for the video. My only complaint with this paper trimmer is that after several years of good service the blade is dull which results in ragged cuts. I saw a remark about it having a self-sharpening rotary blade. Is there anything I can do to get a decent smooth cut back? This wasn’t a cheap purchase.

    I just subscribed to your channel. I am so tired of looking at reviews by consultants who are sponsored by the brand. I really appreciate your honesty. I wasn't aware of this model from Fiskars. I bought the Cutterpillar Pro that sucks! (same price point). They only provide a life time warranty for their blade, and only a 60 day warranty for the cutter. The measurement guides on the grid lines and the ruler are off and don't line up so you can never get exact cuts with that model. Not sure if the new ABS model that just got launched corrected the problem. Can I ask you, do the measurements cut accurately with the folding mechanism? My old Fiskars with the swing out arm didn't provide good measurements at the 7inch mark. OMG, are you sponsored by the brand? So sorry, if you are, my apologies, I thought this was an "independent" review. Can you clarify?

    • @crafttestdummies
      @crafttestdummies  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Craftin Kate Yes, this is an independent review. The place where the markings get iffy are in the 5.5 to 6 inch range. The 6" is RIGHT in the fold line.

    I can't believe Fiskars thinks the blade doesn't need replacing. Cutting thick stock and even balsa/bass wood takes a beating. I don't know of yet cause I haven't looked around if there are other trimmers that can cut the thicker materials. Fiskars just wants people to buy a whole new one to get a shaper blade? I read on reviews that the blade gets dull fast, so what then? What a stupid design and that can be the deal breaker. Thx u for the video and saying something about that.
