  • The video portion is separate from the audio and is purely for aesthetics. Also the stylus used for archiving these recordings is a .7mil not a 1mil so the records are not harmed during playback even though the grooves of these records are .5mil in diameter .7 should be an acceptable size for playback so that all of the frequencies of the recordings will be picked up during playback. Hope you enjoy the video. and check out my other channel EverythingRetro1. Also the record player used in this video has a .7 mil diamond stylus tracking at an acceptable tracking force, so the record is not being harmed :)

    So relaxing...Reminds me of going to the mall in '72 and getting an Orange Julius, and then going to the Time-Tunnel Arcade to play Ghosts ‘n Goblins…and then to Taco Viva to get some burritos. Oh yeah, that sounds good right now.

      I can still smell the "warm electronics" air inside the arcade and feel the quarters jingling in my pocket waiting my turn to play the game.

      Ghosts n Goblins came out in 1985. Gaming was very different in the 70s compared to the 80s, so I'm not sure how anyone could get that mixed up 😂

    Great stuff! Thanks! I wonder who the musicians were? I'm guessing studio musicians who read music? The arrangements, chord progressions, as well as the wide range of musical instruments (strings, congas, flutes, horns, guitars, bells, organs, bass, drums, xylophone, various other percussion, etc.) are incredible! Remember, this was before digital recordings, so every "real" instrument was played manually by a musician, not a computer. The musicians, along with the producers and sound engineers were incredibly talented folks!

      That fan happens to be a 70s or 80s Galaxy brand fan. The blades are a clear deep blue color. The front of the base has a line of buttons to control the speed lol. My grandma had one when I was a little kid exactly like this... pretty sure it is still around somewhere.

    Ok. I see your point of not playing one of the Seeburg records end to end, but I am innocently curious; if the selection you are playing is 3rd in play order, is that actually where needle is in the video?

    • @Fardemark
      @Fardemark  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      the video is not synced with the audio needle placement wise due to the audio editing being done completely separate from the video. That is why in the description it states that the video portion is just for show.

    • @Fardemark
      @Fardemark  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      also here is a record played end to end on my other channelth-cam.com/video/1AFq0nX5JB8/w-d-xo.html

    • @Fardemark
      @Fardemark  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nothing is synced. The audio is captured then randomized into a playlist then I shoot 2 minute video clips of the various records I used in different angles to give it a cinematic look. Then I mix everything into iMovie then uplod it to youtube.

      +WatchingDude I know, right?! I have a few 'regular' 16 rpm music records in my collection, and they don't sound as good as my Seeburg records. I wonder what Seeburg's secret was?
      I've discovered there are far more people interested in these recordings than I would have ever guessed, and I've actually built up a small fan base at work (though not through any deliberate action of my own!). I listen to CDs I've made of Seeburg records; a number of my coworkers have remarked that it's relaxing and it seems to make their day go faster. Even my boss has said positive things about it. Unfortunately, we're not allowed to stream music in the office, so we can't listen in on Seeburg1000.com.
      Who'd have guessed that this sort of music from 50 years ago would enjoy something of a renaissance today?
      Although one has to admit, they're probably just burned out on listening to the radio. I mean, I can only listen to the radio for a short time before I'm burnt out on the same obnoxious commercials played over and over, and the same talentless songs played over and over, and the same lame deejays making the same tired jokes over and over.
