  • The video portion is separate from the audio and is purely for aesthetics. Also the stylus used for archiving these recordings is a .7mil not a 1mil so the records are not harmed during playback even though the grooves of these records are .5mil in diameter .7 should be an acceptable size for playback so that all of the frequencies of the recordings will be picked up during playback. Hope you enjoy the video. and check out my other channel EverythingRetro1. Also the record player used in this video has a .7 mil diamond stylus tracking at an acceptable tracking force, so the record is not being harmed :)
    Also the record player used in this video Is homemade from leftover electronic parts I had around my workshop

    I was about 9 when we started playing this music on KSEA Stereo 101 FM in Seattle and I laid often on our green shag rug with my head in the center of the big wooden AM/FM/Phonograph console so I could listen to the stereophonic (ooooh) "hi-fidelity" music. It brought joy. I was so sad to see the whole genre tossed out like trash in the late 80s. It still breaks my heart and I'm ever-so-grateful to Fardemark for these uploads.

    There is a word in Portuguese that perfectly describes what I feel when listening to this music--Saudade. It has no exact translation in any language, but it's a combination of longing, nostalgia and happiness for people, experiences or eras that you have never lived, or that you have lived but will never come back. This is my case. I remember coming back from school and going with my dad to his studio. He played this music while he worked and I did my homework. None of us talked--we just listened and felt each other's company. It's both sad and happy that I shared time with him, and that this music brings it back.

      True, that........we never give any thought to how we might feel (later) in our early days. We're all just living our lives. Much later......with all the changes our future has brought to us,vee realize that we HAD it good during the simpler times, though - again, we WEREN'T giving much thought to it. Daydreams......are like free vacations. You can TAKE them any time you like, and the "escapes" are ALWAYS great even if it causes us to reflect on those we've loved... and lost.

    That was so nice. I have a lot of easy listening CDs but it would take a lot more money than I have to collect all that you have in these videos. I miss this kind of music so much. I am from the rock era and love that too but I think our current society would help itself out a lot if they quit playing all this noisy pop music in public spaces and instead went back to this kind of calming and bright type of sounds. I think it would "soothe the savage beast" which is just what is needed in our very tense and polarized country right now. Thank you for posting this!

    Foodtown was one of the four supermarkets in my town when I was growing up, although it was something else when I was really young. It closed in the late 90s or early 2000s I don't remember exactly, but the store looked like something out of the late seventies the whole time it was there. And always playing this kind of Muzak. It was nice to have a little time machine so to speak, I remember seeing a comment on another one of these videos that they should open a retro Style looking supermarket that plays this kind of stuff. I would so shop there

    • @Fardemark
      @Fardemark  4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Well It's a customized KLH changer that came from the dump and was originally in a console. When I got it, the console portion was nowhere to be found. So I had my father who is a carpenter help me construct a tabletop frame out of Mahogany and I also Spray painted the discolored ivory colored base plate that the turntable mounts to a nice shade of emerald green which I thought popped with the wood finish and is also my favorite color. I also had some help with a local electronics repair man replace some of the old caps in the amp and a couple bad surface mount transistors to get the audio portion to be crystal clear again. Overall it was a really fun project. I also just restored a 1950s Bell/Wilcox record lathe and I am planning on making a video of some of my custom cut 78's when I get a chance. :)

    • @Fardemark
      @Fardemark  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Actually the turntable in this vid is all from scraps the tonearm is from a 1980s audio plus classroom record player. the platter is from a Realistic 70s console and the cartridge is a pickering. The plinth is made of plywood and 2 by 4's. The description i provided you before is for the other custom turntable used in later videos on my channel.

      @@SimonMcLean-gp9pw I didn’t know this composer but I was right, it’s English ! It was nice to have a home studio in those times. There was a French film music composer, François de Roubaix, who made a lot alone in his home studio from 1965 to 1975. He died in 1975 in a sport accident under water. He was specialized in percussions, electronics, keyboards, guitar and whistling. Here are soundtracks from

For full day's work and they should have about ten to fifteen songs recorded or roughly one album.
