I suspect there is some autotune, just not abused all to tell like the last three tracks they dropped. But I agree it sounds drastically better than anything so far.
@@lorenmorgan1931 pitch correction and auto tune are completely different tools. 99.9% of all producers use pitch correction to some degree, even on the most talented singers to tighten up their vocals. Auto tune is primarily used for people who can’t sing or carry a tune.
@@TheMrFett I have been an engineer for a long long time. They are the same really. Yes I use the tools (primarily Melodyne or if simple, ReaTune in Reaper), even on guitars. Autotune can be used multiple ways, automatic, manual, or note priority based (blocking out specific notes). I use it in manual mode only, and lift/lower to the root temperament, even on string instruments if something feels off. But using "Auto"tune would be automatic, and most engineers that know what they are doing will do it manually, and can make it sound natural. In the case of Rise, it does not sound natural at all, and cannot understand how that one made it to master like it was.
@@TheMrFetthave you ever actually used melodyne or auto tune? If somebody can’t sing auto tune isn’t going to help them sound good. Just sound in pitch. They will still sound awful. Amazing. I do like Extreme, but this new stuff is taking them to another level in my mind. This album Six is a fucking masterpiece. I can't find a weak moment.

Very well said. The "turned up to 11" songs have been great, but this one fills out the beloved parts of the band not already covered by them. A yearning melodic emotion that hearkens back to "Stop the World", "Song for Love", "Hole Hearted". And another wonderful solo that again sounds so *real* - the sound of hands and pick on the strings.

I honestly can't remember another song that I just kept hitting replay on so many times over and over. This is probably one of my favorite Extreme songs ever it just hits all the things I love about the band. Great harmony like Hole Hearted, Great guitar with that 12 string opening, Great solo, love the chorus, and the video reminds me of the old 80s storyline videos that nobody does anymore.
You know you're not alone, right? Been hitting replay on this song over and over as well, singing right along. Those beautiful harmonies in the chorus, the beautifully emotional guitar solo,. One of the best songs they've ever done.
it looks like the guy in the clip was in the friendzones for quite a while and finally got his chance. A music video with a simple but sweet story like this reminds me of the 90s MTV. Beautiful song, Beautiful armonies! Thank you Extreme...Anyone else getting Queen vibes in the part before the solo? Gary's voice sounds so amazing in this
Been a fan since I was 10-years-old , I think this new album is absolutely awesome ! The Videos are great to ! Nuno’s solos are crazy good , not to mention the vocals .
This is without a doubt one of their best songs in their entire catalog. The melody, Gary adding some majesty to the vocals at the bridge, and Nuno delivering an unbelievable solo - that still fits a pop song WHILE it shreds. It has it all. Amazing job, fellas.
@@matejcevnik7362 polyphia is not pop are they? extreme is coming from a different angle. hopefully these songs hit the charts. because all pop charts suck now including spotify top lists.
I've liked all of Extreme 's new singles but this is fantastic. Those harmonies take you away to another time & place, drifting on summer skies. Gary channels his inner Freddie in places, even throws in a couple of his moves as a nod no doubt, leaving Nuno to rip the perfect solo (with his own nods to Bri). Absolutely stunning ❤️
it's so refreshing to hear just a good well structured, balanced and executed song! no bullshit... just great musicianship and singing like it used to be

I'm crying...for real ! I think this song is beautiful in every way. I feel it in my heart like a warmth ray of light, like a trip to different places. I know Nuno is unique but the solo reminds me of Queen. Btw, that solo took me by surprise, I wasn't expecting it because this is such a sweet and melodic song, but then that solo takes it to another dimension, energetically speaking. Nuno takes us to heaven and then we land again in the sweetness of the vocal harmonies, which are perfect! Superb production, this is genius! Gary's voice sounds incredible! I'm a singer and let me tell you, he blew my mind with those high belted notes ! Please Gary, take care of your voice during the tour. The texture, the colors, the sounds and the plot of the video is so 80's and I love It!!! I LOVE EXTREME AND I LOVE THE SONG, YOU ARE THE BEST!!! Thank you for touching my soul with your music!!! ❤❤❤💜💜💜✨
If it were 90s, this song would be played over and over again in radio. Such catchy tunes and melody without sacrificing any musicality. 1st time i heard the chorus,, i was hooked instantly
This song came into my life at the exact time it needed to. Wow. I hope those guys read the comments on the power their music can have on people...
Second that shit
Those blissful Extreme harmonies and a shiver through the spine. You can sing with this song almost straight away.
Great melody!
Truly. This song is everything that rock music can do for pop music. It's got heart and edge but it's still infectious and catchy.
Well I can’t, I sound like a frog
@@itookallthenames Kermit is exactly what this song needs
@@kaicanyonellis lol well played!
Still one of the greatest bands of all time. Ever.
This song should b playing all over the radio this summer!!! Such a great song! Gary's voice has never sounded better, the rhythm section is perfect and Nuno....he sounds so energized, fresh and ready to rock....EVERYONE NEEDS TO HEAR THIS SONG!
Concordo deveria mais infelizmente não esta!
What a great song! I have a feeling Six is going to blow everyone’s mind. The first four singles are what you’d expect from Extreme, familiar yet new. I can’t wait to listen to the album in its entirety. 🖤🖤🖤
I couldn’t agree more. I’m just as stoked as every ‘extremist’ here. 🤘🏼😃
You have a feeling, haha, man, I think we all know this is their time man, its going to be BIG
@@ericp.7475 You’re absolutely right. Six is going to be BIG.
Gonna put everyone to sleep, in reality.
@@SamBrockmann 😮This sounds like a great 👍 song🎵 hopefully the album shall be as great 🤞
Beautiful song, Beautiful armonies! Thank you Extreme...Anyone else getting Queen vibes in the part before the solo? Gary's voice sounds so amazing in this
I thought that, veering into Freddy territory at times.
And the sound of guitar solo too!
Exactly what I thought!
Exactly same here. Gary was channeling Freddie and in the solo, Nuno was channeling Brian May.
This is the comment I was looking for. Feel exactly the same way about the Queen vibes.
I go back to the first album, and usually prefer the heavier stuff...but this is a masterpiece
Totally agree. Extremely strong song. Pun intended. lol.
Bravo 👏
Exactly what I thought on first listen. Poppy as fuck! 🤘
Horrible et sans intérêt.
A band from the 80s gives me a song from the 90s with an 00s style music video. What a multi-time experience.
Well Said
If this was the 70's this would be all over the radio.Such a incredible band.
Queen's influence is very strong on this one. 🤘
You guys are single handedly saving music right now ❤ Much love from a long time fan in Sri Lanka
True that .cheers
Polyphia is taking care of that, they're more the past coming back for a bit.
@@peterkyrshan5315 🥂
I concur !!
Wow, i was thinking that!
Beautiful Freddie like 3:00 and after
Even Nuno’s guitar cable is a curly q like Brian’s.
Yeah, picked up on the Freddie vibe too. The guys can't do anything wrong right now...
No words, I love this band.
This album is a gift.
it's so refreshing to hear just a good well structured, balanced and executed song!
no bullshit... just great musicianship and singing like it used to be
How are these guys creating some of their best work when the rest of the bands in the their era depending on their “old” stuff. Masterful madness.
You know a song is great when you're already singing along on the first time you're ever hearing it! And that solo! I literally gave it a round of applause sitting here in my chair! Great job!
Never been so excited to hear a new album.. real musicians still after 30 years. Love love them
I'm blown away by every single so far! I love the back to their roots sound on this one. Gary's voice is incredibly moving on this track. They sing harmonies like brothers. Super song. Love it! ❤❤❤❤
same!!!!!! Nuno was on Rick Beato and said this is Gary's album, his shiny moment.
Once again, Extreme does not disappoint. Outstanding tune.
Am I the only one that feels a Grammy nomination coming soon!? Thanks for coming back EXTREME, you guys are sounding BETTER THAN EVER!
In a perfect world
I'm crying...for real !
I lit cried. 30 year fan and I'm so happy!!
It’s that Good 🤘
Ah Extreme, the gift that keeps on giving. I haven't enjoyed new music this much in decades.
If it were 90s, this song would be played over and over again in radio. Such catchy tunes and melody without sacrificing any musicality. The solo was as-usually-great-as-Nuno solo… this sing keeps on ringing on my ears.
And somehow it reminds me of my late cats who went over the rainbow.. hope to see all of them on the other side of rainbow.. ❤❤
Oh how I hope this gets tons of air play on the radio! Great lyrics, great harmonies, beautiful arrangement - fantastic change of pace song on the new album.
Unfortunately radio wont even play Rise even with all the hype
@@ASalvaro Rise is too “hard rock” for mainstream radio. One can be hopeful the label will push the more casual listener-friendly tracks like this one.
@@TheMrFett yea but this was the mediabase mainstream rock airplay chart and the record company did send Rise to be added and only 1 station played it...freakin sad the way rock radio is these days
Rock radio Blows... They won't touch Extreme because they're a band that came from the '80s and all the rock radio stations are too busy still kissing Nirvana's dead ass.
If there’s still such a thing as a #1 song, this should be it. Hands down. Simply beautiful! ❤
Let's make it #1!
Say that to reguetón lists...
It would be yes 91 all over -)
Easily one of their best songs, one of the catchiest choruses they've ever written 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
What makes a song great is story telling. And this one delivers. That is what is missing in current music today.
Can't wait for the album release. So far, every song is FANTASTIC
Agreed!!!! Looking forward to passing off the neighbors!!!
No question, Nuno's guitar work is always excellent. The bassline for this song makes it for me.
Much respect to Extreme….after a long period without a new album you guys have absolutely knocked it out of the park. Lifelong fan here.
This song is freaking amazing and should be the #1 song in the country. Extreme is on fire
As I said, my heart is fully recovered and full of warmth. You already know this. I do believe in love. ❤
Extreme Harmonies, y'all!!
All these bands from decades ago... most are shells of their former selves... and then there's these guys... They're sounding and writing as good as they ever have! Kudos Extreme! All these new songs have been GREAT! What a touching song, hit me straight in the heart!
LA Guns,Winger,Sykes...plus these cats. 2023 👍
The new Winger album is also really good!
@@stingylizard Sykes has new stuff????
And brand new Angel CD out now. You must check it out. Singer is 73 and guitarist is 74....original 2 members from the 70's. Check out Angel Once upon a time. And 2019 Angel RISEN CD.
@@stingylizard Ill give you Winger. HUGELY talented and still sound fantastic. I didnt know Sykes had anything recently..and I have tried, but I cant stand the new LAG album...save for one song.
Thank you “Extreme” for all the beautiful songs. LONG LIVE 80s musicians
A real band playing real music. Always a pleasure! ❤
Loved the latest Nuno interview with Rick.
loved this song as well.
Long live extreme
Proof that the real rock bands do exist AND they make the best ballads
Extreme showing not only are they capable of persisting but they thrive and somehow create fresh material decades later. Amazing diverse music🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘
I loved! This song has several nuances of Queen. A melody that can embrace the world.
Exactly my thought 💭!! ❤
I can hear Brian in Nuno's solo😃
and i hear Fredie's voice in Gary's
Extreme should win across every board and panel for best album of 2023. Period. Full stop. Zero questions. Go Boston!
What a voice. Still has it after all these years.
Extreme is doing some HEAVY LIFTING keeping the 80s-rock sound alive
Yeah man, most people have forgotten that this style of tunes were prevalent during the whole decade of 1980 and also during a period of the early 90s. What is good is good and always will be.
I don’t hear anything like this on the radio today. So fresh, new and I love it
Could be this summer’s big hit
Nino still shredding 🎸
Is it just me, or does this whole thing feel like the comeback of Aerosmith, like when Permanent Vacation & Pump dropped. This whole Extreme album has sounded astounding so far! I hope this rockets them to the top once more, they've earned it.
Yeah, Banshee is all Aerosmith influence.
30 year fan finally saw them from the 2nd row last month in NJ, they do not disappoint. Gary Cherones’ energy is infectious, Pats smile and crowd interaction made me feel young again, K Figg hits the drums harder and cleaner than anyone I’ve ever heard, and what can you say about the GOAT in my opinion that hasn’t already been said. You just have to experience Nuno Bettencourt in person. He’ll leave you shaking your head and wanting to rush home and pick up a guitar. Thanks for the memories fellas they’ll last the rest of my life.
This song is such a beacon of light! Really love the part in the middle when Gary goes to the higher register. Amazing! Such a nice contrast compared to the previous three songs, and can't wait for the full release of the album!!! 🎉❤
He sounded like Freddie Mercury when he went higher like that.
Reminiscent of Queen
@@laurab5750 Except Mercury's voice was strong and full in that range not strangled like Gary's. Though if Mercury had reached Gary's age who knows what would have been left of his voice.
The vocals are really the only part of the song that doesn't sound like it was ripped straight from a '90s adult contemporary rock ballad.
@@termsofusepolice, I mean, even as Freddy was literally dying of AIDS, he continued to perform strong. Not sure we can say that of Gary.
THIS is a band! , THIS is a song! this is REAL music with talent thought and provocative emotion. Thanks Extreme. Keep the beauty and power of music alive 🤘
That solo brings me to tears. Just so perfect and beautiful.
Beautifully heartbreaking song about love, loss and redemption. For all you new Extreme fans, again we all beg you to discover iii sides to every story which is Extreme's finest hour and greatest album!
Love iii sides too ❤😊
You have hit the nail on the head: ‘Beautifully heartbreaking..’ How this band are able to connect on such an emotional level is other-worldly. Thank you, Terry! Craig
Bingo! FAITH, IN THE MIDST OF RUINS! Once broken 💔💔becomes whole❤❤again.
"Pray for that magical moment and it will appear
(Don't fight for lost emotions)
Wait for the sunrise
And everything will seem so clear!" (Queen, aficionado here from the start)
Agreed on III Sides. That album is ART!
These guys deserve all the accolades coming their way.... again 😁😁🙏🙏
Amazing 👏👏👏👏
Grammy for best rock band will come … for sure !!!
in our days there’s nothing even close to EXTREME !!!
you would be right if the Grammys weren't a total shit show.
The more I hear this song the more I like it, and now I know I love it. Great chorus that I’ve been singing to myself lately. Today I realized Gary’s part before the solo reminded me of Freddie Mercury, and it brought tears to my eye to go along with the big smile on my face. Nuno’s solo is a work a art, and the video takes me back to high school, coincidently also when I first heard Extreme. Bought my tickets to one of their shows last night. Stoked.
The crowds signing along with the Chorus during the Live Show is going to be INSANE!
Gary’s vocal is amazing!! Beautiful harmonies!!
This should be the #1 song in the country. Amazing album boys!
This is a MASTERPIECEwith beautiful lyrics, harmonies, melody and music video. Extreme make my days perfect. When I woke up this morning, I said to myself that this would be Extreme Wednesday- that I would play Extreme songs ( yesterday I watched and listened to Nuno’s amazing interview with Rick Beato ). I was ecstatic and happy to know that there is a new song and mysic video. I LOVE this song and the music video so much. ❤️🎸
Same here. I watched the Beato interview yesterday as well. (well really it was a conversation and jam session). Every song so far has been amazing - classic Extreme in an amazingly updated way. ❤❤❤
Yes! Great interview with 2 awesome guys.
This new album has been worth the wait! Y'all are sounding magnificent!
There is something, maybe the sound, the harmony and the melody or the beautiful place that takes me back to the 90's... Thank You Extreme!
So good to see Extreme and several other bands (Skid Row, Winger, etc.) from the same Era putting out such great music right now. Definitely takes me back to some much better times.
Probably my top 3 albums this year. Extreme/SKids/Winger. All great!
Don’t forget to check out Richie Kotzen and The Winery Dogs, too!
I cried a little bit...
Always the mark of perfection for me.
Thanks guys.
Tears here too!!
These guys still got it!
Every time they release a single, I don’t think it could get any better, but it does. This one gets me right in the feels ❤❤❤
yep!
Yeah me too... Magical!!! The perfect song
My thoughts exactly!!! I am seriously blown away!!
@@whatjanesaysgoes same!!

Wow. They did it again. 4 singles in a row. Rock solid. As far as songs go, this is my favorite of the 4.
While so many of us complain that nobody makes real music anymore, these guys are doing something about it.
Here's to you, Extreme!
Oh, Gary. You are SOARING! Freddie can hear his from the other side and is smiling. Brilliant. Brilliant. BRILLIANT! Welcome back, Extreme!
Dudes... Maybe the best song you guys have ever done. The drums rock. Great bassline. Great guitar work, Nuno. And Gary, this might be you're best vocal ever. The song really hits hard emotionally. So glad you guys are back.
