  • Before becoming a champion I always wanted to know what K-1 MAX fighters were eating to fuel their body. It only seems fair that I now share with everyone what much of my diet consists of.
Remember to build your own healthy diet based on what your body needs. For me these 5 favourite foods seem to work great.

I eat chicken, fish, yams, spinich, and rice commonly.
One thing I see many, many people overlook is sleep and eating right. I've talked to so many people who say they get like only 4 to 3 hours of sleep and work like 12 hours a day. Then they eat fast food. My heart. It's just so sad.

Oh - I should mention - keep in mind - Gabriel may eat many times a day but it is something to see as it may be a little plate with a 1/4 of an avocado, a couple teaspoons of cottage cheese and 2-3 rice crackers. He has eaten like that since being a very young teenager. Many very small meals spread through out the day and he has the ability to say " I may not be full - but that is enough" and stop.

I’d imagine once you get to a high level, you’d have to get a sports nutritionist to list out what you eat, or even have someone cook and prep it for you. The last thing you need to have on your mind is what you need to eat. But I also appreciate his approach too, which is keeping it simple. Eat the same thing pretty much every single day, that way it becomes routine.

Can you make a video about your diet?

Do you eat bread? Do you drink milk? Do you choose organic food?

3:35 One little tip, just peel and cut the banana BEFORE puting it in the frezer, so you don't have to "cut" the peel with a knife . You can use a ziplock or a regular plastic bag.

Whole grains, fermented foods (yogurt and kimchi/sauerkraut), diverse green veggies, white fish, wild salmon, chicken, seeds and nuts, fruit. I limit spinach due to oxalic acid (chalky taste) as it can deplete your calcium and other minerals. Poke/sushi bowls are the best!

Although, it was in fact ....... poached chicken breast that is whipped up in the blender with blanched spinach and some baked potatoe ---- every day, every meal as he loved it and then cottage cheese and cantaloupe everyday as well.
Healthy diet for a child once they start eating solid food - maybe around 6 months or so.

They sell bulk bananas (full box) cheaper if you talk to the manager. Let them get ripe, then peel and put in topper-wares and freeze.

Gabriel I can see how much you love your smoothies and I don't want to dent your enthusiasm but there's a lot of science to show you should never drink your calories. Chewing is what starts the digestive process, it releases enzymes and I believe also affects your stomach acid. Without chewing you're skipping steps in digestion so the smoothy doesn't digest properly. Also you're mainlining sugar and increasing your blood glucose levels rapidly which can lead to weight gain (which isn't a problem for you clearly but depending on how much other people exercise / their metabolism it could be)

  • @KelpWolf

Here's my high protein pancake recipe (4 people): 1.25 cup whole wheat pastry flour
1 cup fresh-ground seeds/nuts (pumpkin, hemp, almonds, etc)
    1-2 scoops protein powder
1Tb sugar (can leave it out)
    1Tb baking powder
    1/2 tsp sea salt
Add 2-4 Tb oil (avocado, sunflower, or coconut) and 2 eggs, beat together gently without incorporating the dry ingredients (as much as possible)
Add milk or nut/soy milk to desired consistency, about 1 1/2 - 2 cups, and whisk together

I don't know if you have heard about Ayurveda or not. Its thousands of years old knowledge which is still used by most of the households in my country to stay fit, healthy and also to cure diseases.
According to Ayurveda, banana should not be consumed with milk. And the best food to eat is what grows in your area. Imported food from other country should not be eaten. There are mant more concepts about diet. I highly recommend checking that out.

Gabriel did a video on this a while back. It changes based on your experience level. Search for "Vargas Training Priorities"

    • @undeadpresident
      @undeadpresident 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Focus on your weak points. Also, to mix those types of training effectively you have to periodize the training. In other words, don't try to go for everything at once. If you are lacking strength for example, don't do long endurance activity. And vice versa.
Also, realize that different types of impovements take different amounts of time to achieve and last longer or shorter. Skills tend to last the longest for example, while endurance gains will quickly go away with lack of training.
Also, it takes less effort to maintain abilities than to improve them.

I used to hate avocado, but then I went to Mexico around 2010 and realized I'd just always had bad avocado 😅 Love them now 🙂 Make guacamole all the time, put avocado chunks in salads all the time; just a lovely fruit.
The frozen banana thing is definitely a good touch for the smoothies. If you want it to be even thicker, you can also try using plantains (make sure you let them turn black before freezing them for maximum ripeness 🙂).
Cantaloupe and cottage cheese is a good combo; just mind that cantaloupe can trigger allergic reactions in people with ragweed allergies (watermelon can be a nice alternative to get around that, since it also pairs very nicely with slightly-salty flavors).
Aww, sounds like I can't do the pancakes (my digestive system has issues with most grains, including oats), but it sounds similar to the flaxseed meal and banana porridge that I typically have for breakfast 🙂
One of my favorite things is coconut meat. Great energy booster that doesn't cause a crash afterwards, wonderful flavor, and tons of nutrition packed in there. I'll peel one or two on the weekends and then snack on the meat once or twice a day through the week 🥥
