It’s hard to think of a track more devoid of life than this. That’s not an insult, I mean it as genuine praise. It sets the vibe so well that you can just feel the hopelessness.
A part of me strongly associates this track with the intro to TM:L and reading off the text in tune to the rising and falling ambience, rather than as the backdrop for the quiet before the storm... back when I first got Head-On ETE for Christmas and thought the story behind Lost was real. Although the illusion is long gone, the dread I feel from this song continues to linger along my spine. Long Live Twisted Metal
Wait that story about the plane crash killing several of the key programmers working on twisted metal black 2 and that's why it never came out... is fake? I always thought the reason Black 2 never came out was because several of the key leads behind it died. At least, that's what HeadOn had to say about it.
@@soggybreadman4035 If memory serves me right, David Jaffe did later confirm that story as a falsehood, if only for an interesting story. That being said, there probably was a major reason for Harbor City not getting finished... at least the last build of it got leaked.
@@RexcorJ Considering the cars that were planned for Harbor City were mostly repurposed for TM: Head On, I think it's safe to assume it was retooled into Head-On
this mixed with the sounds of a dog barking in the background a baby crying with the news going on and actual domestic abuse makes it all the worse i love it
Ngl, this made me realize how much of that grungy industrial tone Black, Manhunt and other similar games had is kinda lost now. You have to turn to indies for that, but mainstream gaming doesn't really have that kind of horror to it.
I want to like this game but I hate how energy attacks are done and there's really shit ram damage in black. Like what's the point of it being car combat if ram damage does next to nothing? so if black had tmps3 way of doing energy attacks and ram damage then I would like tm black the best.
My favorite is TM2 and partly for that very reason. The physics of the game give the vehicles some really good ram damage, especially the big vehicles like Axel and Minion.
Uhhh, this game is one of the most memorable games ever from my childhood. Then music, atmosphere and themes are all scary as hell and still hold up today.
Man, I just love the idea of like 12 vehicles armed with weapons blowing each other up in the middle of some spooky ass neighborhood
yeah, I just love how unsettling this track is, and if it can go perfectly in some other horror game.

@@WAGAKO19 Hmm, I should go and check out the soundtrack of that game as well.

Even creepier ambiance when you break into the asylum on this level.
This song was playing in my head when I was on I-80 in the middle of Nebraska at 3 in the morning. Nothing but just pitch black all around.
Must've been a very intensifying moment for you. Surely you made it through alright.
@@karmakrow6690 Oh yes, I did. My buddy was driving and we were on the way to Las Vegas.

sounds like Silent Hill
That it does.
Twisted metal black is Chicago in real life
@warmasterharbinger6759 Indeed you're right.

This paints the image of a hopeless, trashy neighborhood with a serial killer stalking the night.
Ahh yes, Silent Hill level lol
@eddymartinez7961 It seems both Silent Hill Ost and the ambiance tracks of Twisted Metal Black sound familiar to each other in a way.
They were made with the same sample albums thats probably why
this soundtrack remind me of postal 1 and silent hill
Those two games sure did have some pretty suspenseful ost.
Also reminds me of manhunt
You're right. This soundtrack could easily go on Postal 1 as one of those many creepy loading screens that it has
Sounds like Final Doom on PS1 or something
Hmm, I should go and check out the soundtrack of this Final Doom for PS1, it sounds interesting.
That eerie mfkn Tubular bell is starting to bring back horrible childhood memories 😭😭😭 I need therapy 💯
