For fucks sake Blizzard just give us a Hearthstone scenario editor already. They do it with StarCraft and Warcraft ...so eh, why the hell not? I think being able to design/play brawls like this at will would be awesome.
+Emory Delf How? You don't pay to play tavern brawl and you don't play to play weekly/monthly to be able to participate in more tavern brawls. The only thing you spend money on is packs and adventures to get new cards. Custom game modes would make people want to spend more money to make good decks, or it would just get more people hooked on their game and they would sell more expansions in the future (similar to Warcraft 3 custom games, pretty sure most of the community only played that game because of them). I think the only reason they aren't allowing custom game modes is because a lot of people are already hooked on their game and they want to make sure people are logging in every week and keeping up with hearthstone to play the tavern brawls (which is a good reason given how popular the game is at the moment).
Sadtv If people could do whatever they wanted in hearthstone, making DLC's, spending time of tavern brawls, and purchasing carda/packs would basically be useless.

My first win against mechazod was hitting it with a 64 damage charge. Priest played millhouse manastorm, and I had Icehowl, blessing of might, seal of champions and two blessed champion in hand. Was satisfying after getting rekt 3 times in a row.

For some reason mechazod ignored him once he was out, allowing him to be buffed up via King's and Blessed Champion and such. First time it was a straight up finisher, the second it knocked mechazod down enough that the other player's trogg (boosted by all the spells I had cast on Thad) was able to finish him off. No idea what the priority on the various attacks are, but for some reason it Thaddius seems to get a turn off, at least the times I've managed to get him out.

+Magna Fox I had a piece of shit where I set up a perfect turn that developed like 5 big threats for him and a few divine shields. The guy filled his board, skipped all attacks, then passed the turn, RIP board.
+TheLocoRunner I feel you there bro. I think Kripp has sworn off emotes a little too much maybe. I'm sure he has reasons, being such a big streamer, he might want to maintain "emote neutrality". In this case though, a "Well Played" wouldn't hurt a bit, especially if they both won due to teamwork.
Interesting facts about this Tavern Brawl: 1. If you surrender, your "opponent" also is forced to surrender, so you can punish the people that heal you for 6 when you're full health. 2. If your board is full, then it gets destroyed completely when your turn is ended. This happened to me with a board of 5-attack minions, rip.
+Godly Gohan I basically played two games, got two wins and moved on with my life. I don't play Hearthstone to defeat PvE encounters and even less so when I need to rely on a random stranger to be at least somewhat competent.
+Godly Gohan Yeah this is the best brawl by far, but its pretty low on replayability. Still played it more than 90% of the other brawls though because it was actually fun
+TheBananaThug this brawl is the best in terms of design and innovativity but replayability is a humongous factor for deciding whether its the best brawl or not. my top 3 brawls are nef vs rag on 1st place, the one where a minion of equal cost to the spell you casted is summoned comes on 2nd and the 3rd place is taken by crossroads on a tie with too many portals. (I chose crossroads due to funny shenanigans like 3 tirions)
This was actually one of the most fun tavern brawls, it ALMOST makes me want a PvE raid that is a 2v1 story battle where they modify the board so you can see both players opposite the enemy.
That's what I've been saying maybe because I'm not super competitive and like teamwork in video games :D but I think it'd be cool to kinda raid in hearthstone like in wow against tough AI bosses/scenarios and of course I want story in everything although you don't really need it in hearthstone

Don't know if the info is out there yet (TL;DR). In any case, FYI: I encountered a board clear when my 'opponent' had 7 minions on the board. Mechazod didn't use a card for that if I remember correctly.
One of the things that was most fun about this was trying to communicate with your random "opponent". I'd spam "well played" when I wanted him to attack with everything as I had lethal, or I'd keep mousing over a minion I wanted him to use a spell on and spamming "Hello" and it worked in most cases lol.
This was also my favorite Tavern Brawl. Trying to read your teammate, helping each other out, etc: a hearthstone match that brings people together and 'Well Played!' even after losing. That being said, I think the implementation reveals slightly... not lazy coding, but a reluctance to invest real resources into developing the game itself.
Man, this brawl is so amazing. And, well, I played like 5 and didn't even see Lorewalker Cho in it XD It seems to help a lot. Some matches were pretty easy. Once you can get a minion to have a lot of attack power and double it, It's a win for sure. Some matches were pretty hard, but yet It went possible in every single one to surpass the boss. Just needed to put a bunch of minions and make sure to keep both players out of range. The way that the card mechanics were synergyzed to the brawl is just amazing.
Gotta agree, this is so much fun. Also my favourite Tavern Brawl of all. Blizzard deserves huge kudos for this design. Yeah it's tough, yeah it's random (a huge element of Hearthstone), but Jesus, it's just so fun.
I loved this one! Trolls are inevitable, but so far I've only cued against one (He got paladin, and slow played. I conceded and cued again after he passed his second turn without playing anything or using his hero power). Saving all of those spells and the Lorewalker for an opportune moment, only to have your opponent play Millhouse, and then piling all those boost spells on him for free with Lorewalker out is extremely satisfying.
@Kripparian It's the most fun to go for the OTK combo with IceHowl and buffs with Millhouse!!! 96 dmg is pretty easy to accomplish with the right teammate.
Those who want to save time can watch the video in 1.5 or 2x speed.Go to settings and choose 1.25 , 1.5 or 2x speed.I watch in 1.5 x in general ,gameplays in 2x speed.You save 25% , 33% and 50% of time for each of these options.

Although some people have pointed it out i will re-state: If you have a full board (7 minions) at the end of your turn and Mechazod swaps over to your board, he will kill your entire board (animated with 7 assasinates though not declaring any cards used)
How to win: Priest in hand has Millhouse Paladin in hand has Icehowl, Seal of Champions, and Blessed Champions (a bunch of attack buff spells) Have 10 mana 1. Priest plays Millhouse 2. You play Icehowl and your entire hand 3. You win That's how I was able to win with a friend. RNG needed but if you're not completely unlucky, you can save this for a 60-80 damage combo.
The key to this brawl is to keep 4-6 minions on each side of the board at all times. Keep flooding the board. Only hit him with 5+ damage minions. Then when you have big buffs and big minions you start attacking.
I can confirm that if your board is full when he switches he will clear your entire side of the board. Another key role of the Paladin that I would like to point out is the importance of putting out silver had recruits to soak up those bomb salvo's. Also key use of divine shields on minions.
I did a OTK of 108 damage in one turn where my opponent had millhouse and played it. I played icehowl (10), blessing of kings (14), blessing of kings (18), Blessing of Might (21), Blessing of might (24) Seal of Champions (27), Blessed Champion (54), Blessed Champion (108). It was AMAZing. Watch out, Watch out, Watch out, OTK outta nowhere
Can confirm the board clear when your side of the board is full. Happened my first brawl this week. Since the Mechazod switches sides each turn, and when yours is full, he doesn't have a flee slot, so he clears it.all.
Another tavern brawl I didn't have any luck in. An example: My board and my allies' board was almoust filled with minions and my side had 1 holy champion and 2 light wardens and all of them had 7 attack. Mechazod played bomb salvo and hit all of them and lost later because of damage loss back then.
Kripp i think your wrong about the assassinate because i had a 47 attack damage minion and he didn't assassinate. he only plays the cards random. (he mostly plays double zap)
Can confirm about the full board clear. Was playing with my friend and we were like "I wonder what will happen maybe he just has to assassinate something?" Then his board got completely cleared and it was hilarious.
Fun fact: the picture off the "kill the lorewalker" card is a bavarian mythical creature called "wolpertinger" and is a mixture of a rabbit a squirrel a duck and a deer
Can confirm the board sweep from mechazod if you hit minion cap. Did a sick millhouse/trogzor play and ended up filling my half of the board. Got immediately obliterated and it doesn't even show in the actions log.
I won in the third try, but I played Druid and my oponnent/friend played with Mage, and of course we had some luck, but we both played well like a co-op think, was cool, what I don't get it it's why in this video they play Priest and Paladin and I always got Druid and Mage, is it because of the region thing? or it's random?
This was the first version of it where Palladian and priest were the 2 classes, they repeated a little while ago with mage and druid same idea but new decks
what he said about assassinate isnt always true. i buffed a smal minion and he targetted that one even tho it wasnt the highest attack minion. it seems to prioritize buffs in some way.
I just played with a paladin who used Blessing of Wisdom on the boss, followed by Blessed Champion, increased boss's attack from 10 to 20 and we both got destroyed. GG
This is a pretty fun brawl, but I had a really bad expirence a few games, most of it was when my ally was the Paladin and he wouldn't stop buffing MY minions before they could attack.
I wish I had been recording, but I gambled heavily on my stranger opponent having millhouse, son I didn't play any buff spells. He played it and the combo was ACTIVATED! Coin Icehowl, +3 attack, +3 attack, +4/+4, then two blessed champions to give 80 burst damage and WRECK the Gearmaster. It felt so awesome because there was no communication, just gambled awesomeness.
Yes this was a great brawl. Fun, dynamic, challenging.I felt keeping small minions alive seemed to deter him from assassinating. I did fill my board once with 7 minions and yes, he assassinates your entire board.
in my 2nd game the other player thought we play against each other so he kept only healing himself and mechazoid. sometimes i wish this game allows chatting
Can confirm the board clear part. One time I played 7 minions, they all got assassinated without any further notice and I just surrendered. Of course, I never played more than 6 minions again.
yeah it does kill all your minions if u have full board at the switch, tried that 1st game I played. well dont have to tell how that went after that :)
I can confirm, DO NOT fill your board or you will lose every minion on your side. I had a sweet game where I played paladin and saved up maybe.. two blessing of might (plus 3 attack), two blessed champion (double attack), and one blessing of kings (plus 4/4). Then my priest friend played millhouse AND Troggzor, >:) I then draw and play Lorewalker cho even though we didn't need him.

I can confirm that your board gets blown up if you have 7 minions. Kripp caught on a lot faster than me that you want to leave low attack minions alive to absorb bombs. A lot of players don't realize this and it usually causes a loss.
btw: Paladin have Icehowl too. Yup, I had a match end up by my millhousing and my enemy playing Icehowl -> Few buffs -> 2 times blessing of champions for 80 charge damage. Thats why you have your millhouses and dont play them on turn 2 boys.
9:30 I can confirm this from personal experience. If your side of the board is completely full, he will destroy all your minions and then play another card.
+dalubnie Also the Hearthstone wiki theorizes that he has a finite number of certain cards. To be exact, they estimate he can only play Assassinate five times.
Well new expansion this Thursday sooo yea I also liked this tavern brawl the most You kinda forgot to mention that the Paladin has Icehowl which really synergizes with Millhouse
This tavern brawl was awesome. But I don't think Kripp played enough of it before making the video. If you can't keep the lightwells alive, the paladin actually has more healing than the priest. And the priest has the potential for more damage. It's just that the priest is relying on the paladin to give him his damage. One of the craziest combos you can make is if the priest toss down Troggzor and Millhouse at the same time and then the paladin just spam a bunch of spells. If both players know the system very well you should win most of your games. It's just a lot of tactic that goes in to saving spells and wait out your allies plays. But damn, when both players are in sync it just feels so good, and really satisfying to beat the bastard.
Yeah I thought this one was great too. Definitely the best one that included pre-defined decks, by far. I've never yet lost, but my first brawl got me down to 1HP before my ally got a lucky draw and killed Mechazod in a single turn. A couple of things I'd like to see with these "pre-defined deck" brawls: - More random classes (so it's not always the same two classes every time). Why not have a chance of playing a spell-heavy mage or druid deck, or a minion-heavy shaman deck? - Bit more attention to detail with the presentation (which IMO has always been HS's weakness). For example, instead of saying "Uther VERSUS Anduin" the announcer says "Uther AND Anduin" or something like that.
I can confirm, if your board is full at the start of your turn (such that Mechazod does not have room to go to your side), he will destroy all your minions then switch to your side
He actually have one more ability if you have full board when he try to get on your side of board he will mass asasinete all minions you have. We tried that right now with my friend becouse we were curious what will happen in that case. Oh kripp actually talked about it later in video well i just leave this coment here as verification of that rumor :D.
I love the partner tavern brawl, although FOR anyone curious, if your field's to full, that it can't hold Mecha. HE WILL nuke your board, then do his turn.

I can confirm that mechzod will in fact wipe the board if it gets too full. I set up a trogzor the earthanator and Millhouse turn for my opponent and the board got filled up but before he had a chance to reap the benefits the whole board got assassinated. Which made us lose.

Well i meant story as in a adventure more. I would say give the bosses an optional 2v1 mode along with a solo mode.

The cooperative aspect to this Tavern Brawl looks great. The lack of communication is the only thing keeping it from reaching even greater heights.

Gotta agree, this is so much fun. Also my favourite Tavern Brawl of all. Blizzard deserves huge kudos for this design. Yeah it's tough, yeah it's random (a huge element of Hearthstone), but Jesus, it's just so fun.
I loved this one! Trolls are inevitable, but so far I've only cued against one (He got paladin, and slow played. I conceded and cued again after he passed his second turn without playing anything or using his hero power).
Saving all of those spells and the Lorewalker for an opportune moment, only to have your opponent play Millhouse, and then piling all those boost spells on him for free with Lorewalker out is extremely satisfying.

@Kripparian It's the most fun to go for the OTK combo with IceHowl and buffs with Millhouse!!! 96 dmg is pretty easy to accomplish with the right teammate.

You cant, you could just put naturalize into ur deck and win turn 1, you would need to make him immune to spells

Yeah. There are solutions. You could make him immune to spells. You could ban certain cards from the decks.
assassinate not always hits highest attack minion, sometimes he kinda prio the minion that can attack next turn
such a good tavern brawl been playing it almost exclusively this week
Although some people have pointed it out i will re-state: If you have a full board (7 minions) at the end of your turn and Mechazod swaps over to your board, he will kill your entire board (animated with 7 assasinates though not declaring any cards used)
How to win:
Priest in hand has Millhouse
Paladin in hand has Icehowl, Seal of Champions, and Blessed Champions (a bunch of attack buff spells)
Have 10 mana
1. Priest plays Millhouse
2. You play Icehowl and your entire hand
3. You win
That's how I was able to win with a friend. RNG needed but if you're not completely unlucky, you can save this for a 60-80 damage combo.
The key to this brawl is to keep 4-6 minions on each side of the board at all times. Keep flooding the board. Only hit him with 5+ damage minions. Then when you have big buffs and big minions you start attacking.
I can confirm that if your board is full when he switches he will clear your entire side of the board. Another key role of the Paladin that I would like to point out is the importance of putting out silver had recruits to soak up those bomb salvo's. Also key use of divine shields on minions.
I did a OTK of 108 damage in one turn where my opponent had millhouse and played it. I played icehowl (10), blessing of kings (14), blessing of kings (18), Blessing of Might (21), Blessing of might (24) Seal of Champions (27), Blessed Champion (54), Blessed Champion (108). It was AMAZing. Watch out, Watch out, Watch out, OTK outta nowhere
Can confirm the board clear when your side of the board is full. Happened my first brawl this week.
Since the Mechazod switches sides each turn, and when yours is full, he doesn't have a flee slot, so he clears it.all.
That last priest broke the code on the rng at the end lol

Another tavern brawl I didn't have any luck in.
An example: My board and my allies' board was almoust filled with minions and my side had 1 holy champion and 2 light wardens and all of them had 7 attack. Mechazod played bomb salvo and hit all of them and lost later because of damage loss back then.
Kripp i think your wrong about the assassinate because i had a 47 attack damage minion and he didn't assassinate. he only plays the cards random. (he mostly plays double zap)

The challenge of this Tavern Brawl comes with playing with randoms. Kripp pussied out and picked Helten.

Was playing with my friend and we were like "I wonder what will happen maybe he just has to assassinate something?" Then his board got completely cleared and it was hilarious.
Loved the coop aspect of this - not so much the "random" targets his bombs hit :P
Fun fact: the picture off the "kill the lorewalker" card is a bavarian mythical creature called "wolpertinger" and is a mixture of a rabbit a squirrel a duck and a deer

Can confirm the board sweep from mechazod if you hit minion cap. Did a sick millhouse/trogzor play and ended up filling my half of the board. Got immediately obliterated and it doesn't even show in the actions log.
I won in the third try, but I played Druid and my oponnent/friend played with Mage, and of course we had some luck, but we both played well like a co-op think, was cool, what I don't get it it's why in this video they play Priest and Paladin and I always got Druid and Mage, is it because of the region thing? or it's random?
This was the first version of it where Palladian and priest were the 2 classes, they repeated a little while ago with mage and druid same idea but new decks

for my taste i love adventure type fighting bosses.
what he said about assassinate isnt always true. i buffed a smal minion and he targetted that one even tho it wasnt the highest attack minion. it seems to prioritize buffs in some way.
I just played with a paladin who used Blessing of Wisdom on the boss, followed by Blessed Champion, increased boss's attack from 10 to 20 and we both got destroyed. GG
This is a pretty fun brawl, but I had a really bad expirence a few games, most of it was when my ally was the Paladin and he wouldn't stop buffing MY minions before they could attack.
I wish I had been recording, but I gambled heavily on my stranger opponent having millhouse, son I didn't play any buff spells. He played it and the combo was ACTIVATED! Coin Icehowl, +3 attack, +3 attack, +4/+4, then two blessed champions to give 80 burst damage and WRECK the Gearmaster. It felt so awesome because there was no communication, just gambled awesomeness.

I loved this brawl, but I hope in future coop brawls we can play as the other classes with preset decks, or even make our own deck!
Yes this was a great brawl. Fun, dynamic, challenging.I felt keeping small minions alive seemed to deter him from assassinating. I did fill my board once with 7 minions and yes, he assassinates your entire board.
in my 2nd game the other player thought we play against each other so he kept only healing himself and mechazoid. sometimes i wish this game allows chatting
Can confirm the board clear part. One time I played 7 minions, they all got assassinated without any further notice and I just surrendered. Of course, I never played more than 6 minions again.

yeah it does kill all your minions if u have full board at the switch, tried that 1st game I played. well dont have to tell how that went after that :)
This week my friend and I got a minion to around 72 attack and holy champion to around 30 something with mill house and lore walker

I had a sweet game where I played paladin and saved up maybe.. two blessing of might (plus 3 attack), two blessed champion (double attack), and one blessing of kings (plus 4/4). Then my priest friend played millhouse AND Troggzor, >:) I then draw and play Lorewalker cho even though we didn't need him.

i played like 7ish brawls and didnt lose one, so im not too sure on the "balanced and close" part but its definetly one of the most fun ones
I can confirm that your board gets blown up if you have 7 minions.
Kripp caught on a lot faster than me that you want to leave low attack minions alive to absorb bombs. A lot of players don't realize this and it usually causes a loss.
btw:
Paladin have Icehowl too. Yup, I had a match end up by my millhousing and my enemy playing Icehowl -> Few buffs -> 2 times blessing of champions for 80 charge damage.
Thats why you have your millhouses and dont play them on turn 2 boys.
First game, I millhoused into a 40 attack ice howl, which turned into perfect lethal with 3 1/1's
9:30 I can confirm this from personal experience. If your side of the board is completely full, he will destroy all your minions and then play another card.
+dalubnie Also the Hearthstone wiki theorizes that he has a finite number of certain cards. To be exact, they estimate he can only play Assassinate five times.

You kinda forgot to mention that the Paladin has Icehowl which really synergizes with Millhouse
This tavern brawl was awesome. But I don't think Kripp played enough of it before making the video. If you can't keep the lightwells alive, the paladin actually has more healing than the priest. And the priest has the potential for more damage. It's just that the priest is relying on the paladin to give him his damage. One of the craziest combos you can make is if the priest toss down Troggzor and Millhouse at the same time and then the paladin just spam a bunch of spells.
If both players know the system very well you should win most of your games. It's just a lot of tactic that goes in to saving spells and wait out your allies plays. But damn, when both players are in sync it just feels so good, and really satisfying to beat the bastard.
My favourite brawl yet, by far
Yeah I thought this one was great too. Definitely the best one that included pre-defined decks, by far. I've never yet lost, but my first brawl got me down to 1HP before my ally got a lucky draw and killed Mechazod in a single turn.
A couple of things I'd like to see with these "pre-defined deck" brawls:
- More random classes (so it's not always the same two classes every time). Why not have a chance of playing a spell-heavy mage or druid deck, or a minion-heavy shaman deck?
- Bit more attention to detail with the presentation (which IMO has always been HS's weakness). For example, instead of saying "Uther VERSUS Anduin" the announcer says "Uther AND Anduin" or something like that.

The last clip always happens to me, scared my ally buffs my minions too much and then it gets assassinated but it never did.
I can confirm, if your board is full at the start of your turn (such that Mechazod does not have room to go to your side), he will destroy all your minions then switch to your side
He actually have one more ability if you have full board when he try to get on your side of board he will mass asasinete all minions you have. We tried that right now with my friend becouse we were curious what will happen in that case.

I love the partner tavern brawl, although FOR anyone curious, if your field's to full, that it can't hold Mecha. HE WILL nuke your board, then do his turn.

This will probably be my favorite Solo Adventure yet, and definently better then Blackrock Mountain. So many nice cards for Hunter! I love it! Maybe Beast Hunter will finally be a thing in Ranked mode? I really hope it will :D
My first game in that previous brawl I filled my board with minions. He killed them all. My teammate was not happy.
I can confirm that mechzod will in fact wipe the board if it gets too full. I set up a trogzor the earthanator and Millhouse turn for my opponent and the board got filled up but before he had a chance to reap the benefits the whole board got assassinated. Which made us lose.
