- The Cowsills prepare to sing The National Anthem at Fenway Park in Boston during game 3 of the 2004 American League Championship which The Red Sox lost to The Yankees, 19-8. This was the last game The Red Sox lost in the season as they went on to sweep the rest of this series and The World Series.

A year before Katrina, so Barry was still with us. He really seemed like a creative, unique guy. Also nice to see Richard included.

Been a fan since the late 60’s & bought their albums back then, about the same age as John; I was born in 57. Had a really big crush on him & Barry back then. RIP Barry. I’m so sorry they had such a rough life; it makes my heart hurt for them. 💙😢

The Cowsill one of the Best bands of all time.Up there with The Beatles.

Sounds like the stadium was playing the whole of Tubular Bells. Amazing. Great to see the sibs there. But why didn't we get to hear the full anthem and what they sang afterward? Oh well. Can't have everything in life, 'eh.
Because I don't own the rights to that. They sang live on TV so it's owned by Major League Baseball and Fox.

@@JamesCAsphalt8 The version I recorded is not listenable. There is a one and a half second delay between The Cowsills singing and the sound bouncing back from the speakers. The only clean sound was on the broadcast which I don't own. So, this little video contains highlights of their preparation.

Why didn't they extend the video to include their entire performance of the national anthem? That would have made the video completely cool!
It would but we don't own the rights to that footage as it belongs to Major League Baseball. The video we recorded features The Cowsills' performance with a second and a half bounce back off the speakers in a large stadium. What we recorded, with that delay sounds not good. The televised version is not ours to share.

We don't have the rights to the recording from TV which isolates their vocals. What you hear on the field is unlistenable. Trust me. It includes a second and a half delay of the sound coming from their mouths fighting against the sound from the speakers in the stadium.

That's a question for Fenway. They were playing it in the park. It must mean something to fans or to the Red Sox.
It stinks that we have to have a credit card to be able to watch the documentary. I rid myself of all credit cards, and only use Paypal, now.
I'm so sorry about that. The doc is on Amazon Prime. I'm not sure how they do their billing. You can also buy a DVD using Amazon and I'm sure that will allow you to use PayPal.

Interesting footage. Did Barry forget his Red Sox shirt? I have a feeling he didn't forget it - but just chose to be stubborn and not wear it. Barry died less than a year later during Hurricane Katrina.
I think you are right. He wore that shirt all day I think and chose to go with just the bandana for the performance.
