Design of Experiments (DOE) for Injection Molding

Design of Experiments is a very useful technique. However, a lot of molders do not perform DOEs. They have a misconception that it is complicated, time consuming and needs a lot of training in math and statistics. We Injection Molders are lucky since it is none of the above. The talk will focus on the introduction and application of this technique to Injection Molding to help molders make Data Driven Decisions to achieve the required part quality, achieve Process Capability (Cpk, Ppk) and make changes to the mold steel dimensions and/or part design. The technique adds on to the benefits achieved by the techniques of Scientific Injection Molding.
