- A judge gave a teen who was arrested for vandalism a choice between jail or painting a building's railing.
It was a hot day to serve any sentence, but given the heat, it beat 10 days in jail that spray painting graffiti on a railroad caboose could have earned Avery White.
There were precautions like water, sunscreen, a mask, gloves and a paintbrush.
Judge Michael Cicconetti sentenced White to painting a building with a toothbrush for vandalizing a railroad caboose.

You know its nice to know that he learned he was wrong. He owned up to the punishment because of this.
He's lucky the judge gave him a choice, many don't. This was a great opportunity for him to give back to his community & reevaluate his decisions.
This was a good idea. Like judge cicconetti said, “the crime starts small but they get smarter in jail and the crimes get bigger.” So if he can teach them a lesson early on, he’s preventing them from re offending
Yeah, I remember something similar happened in Sarajevo, then Yugoslavia. Three teens snuck into a tram depo and sprayed graffiti on 2 tram cars. Judge sentenced them to 6 months pressure washing and cleaning tram cars instead of sending them to juvenile.
I agree with making them do that but 6 months is a bit excessive for tagging just two train cars with spray paint. I think having them paint or pressure wash off the paint from train cars and clean them for 1 or 2 months is a fair punishment. 6 months seems over the top for such a small crime.
A PERFECT sentence....we need more judges like this.
Did he seriously wear a shirt with grafiti on it😂
According to TV Tropes this would be an example of a "Cool and Unusual Punishment."
Its a good idea for a person who likes to spray paint on anything he or she wants!, as punishment!, they can paint over anything or everything that's vandalized
I would definitely keep that toothbrush 😄
Now that’s the judge with common sense.
This is rehab, which is the proper way of serving.
I believe your sentences do teach lessons and I'm glad you are so creative
FAIR
“Very relieved”- doesn’t sound like he’s not gonna do it again.”
Have anything to say- do I have to say something?
Yes. It’s apart of the punishment. Speak on your behalf of embarrassment.
I see where you're coming from, but he is under no obligation to talk to the camera crew. Seeing as his consequence was simply to paint the railing, nowhere is conversing with a camera crew included in that. All that being said, he handled the declination to talk with respect.
@@GoodMan593 And, not only that, he was probably fired from his job and will never work in that area again since everyone now knows he's forever a criminal.
It's a relatively minor offense (no intent of harming people) so not everybody will dismiss him (though many will). If it was violent, then that's a different story.@@itsinthenet
Put juvenile vandals in the stocks in their town square & poke fun at them. They will never vandalise again.
This whole situation is the most ameican shit ever. The camera man being there, the probation officer knowing he's on camera asking "you want a souvenir?" at the end. If a judge gives a kid a sentence of painting a rail with a toothbrush just let him do it. All this reveling in someone else's punishment from people that aren't involved, it's gross. And shout-out to this kid for being smart and not saying anything an camera that he didn't need to. 🤙
Ya... the thingy is I would rather end up on TV. End up in a youtube video then end up with 10 days in jail and losing my job. The kid got off easy
Everyone liked that
If that were a ' black ' guy the NAACP would be crying " racism ".
RussiaNukesAmerica3 true
Welp, can't happen now ... Because he's white and they always receive the "creative sentences."
GlobalDrea93 I remember a ' white ' judge ordering a ' black ' guy who owed child support to shine shoes at the airport because the guy said he couldn't find a job, I have no problem with that.
The judge gave a black guy a sentence of riding a bike for a charity event after he stole a bike. No prejudice there
N always remember. Slavery is abolished except in the form of punishment.
