Oh I'm still a fan of glycolic acid. I will use it maybe once a week or once a fortnight and I'll use salicylic too. Glycolics also great on the legs, arms, bikini area and underarms to help with ingrown hairs and sweat. I'll probably always keep a bottle in my dressing table.
As always, a great video! I just want to issue a bit of a warning, if you have a deeper skin tone like me, be careful with using clycolic acid due to its small molecular size! It CAN cause hot pockets and cause hyperpigmentation instead of fading it. I’ve seen people darker than me using it successfully, so it’s not an absolute outcome - just be aware and maybe try it under the chin for some time before using it on the face. I don’t know what the risk of hyperpigmentation on thicker skin on the body would be?. Just be mindful. 💕
Thank you so much hun and your totally right - always go fro something more gentle with deeper skin tones as the risk to extra hiyperpigmentaiton is real .. sending love x
Hey Rob, I hope you are well🌞. I must say I am going to stick with The Ordinary Glyc Acid 7%. I have been using about 3 months my skin has responded so well to it. It has removed my sebaceous hyperplasia, and is fading the sun damage on my décolletage with no sensitivity issues at all. The deodorant tip works brilliantly to. It is also helping to clear the acne on my son’s back. Team GA all the way ✅
I use Ordinary Glycolic every day in my groin area after I shower. Much improved. I just thought I should say what everyone already knows but isn't saying. Happy Christmas and Merry New Year. Alex. 😊
I still use glycolic acid I just don't typically use it by itself for my face. I like to use a mix for my face and décolletage, I just prefer it to a single acid. The one I use currently is the Some By Mi AHA, BHA, PHA toner, but I've used the AHA BHA options from Cosrx and Paula's Choice and a few other products that contain a mix before and I've got a few serums that I sometimes substitute for my toner on exfoliation days when I feel like I need it. I also use the Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Extra Strength at home peel pads every other month or so, sometimes I go longer and sometimes shorter, it just depends if and when I need to use one, so every once in a while I'll sub one of those in and not use my other products that week. I do use glycolic acid for various other things though, so I'll probably always keep a bottle for my dressing table and in the bathroom too because I have my teenage sons using it for some things as well. I actually do the foot trick you mentioned here and really love it, I swear by it. I have my teenage sons use it under their arms because teenage boys. 😂 They also do the foot trick. I sometimes use it for ingrown hairs after shaving if I need it and I don't have another product on hand. I'll have to try the lip basting you mentioned though, that's one I've never personally heard before.
I'm trying to tolerate Smooth Out by G&G (I have sensitive, eczema-prone skin). I think it's too strong for me but I'm blown away by the results whenever I use it (my skin looks so smooth!!), I mean, immediate results every time! Talk about that instant gratification... 😅 I'm trying to use it twice a week on my face (neck doesn't like it) along with A Game 10 the other nights. It's going with difficulty, I've had to add a reactive skin moisturizer in my AM routine (Dermallergo Fluid), because nights are for A Game (= no moisturizer with A Game). We'll see if I manage to sustain this routine or not... For now I'm trying to use 5% glycolic acid on my neck (twice a week if I tolerate it). I forgot to say I use Smooth Out on my chest as well. What do you think about Smooth Out?
Glycolic from the ordinary acid on my elbows!! It’s the best for smooth elbows. As I am on my late 40s I tend to come back over and over to glycolic acid as an exfoliant I find it’s just much more effective than lactic or mandelic. I only use one or twice a week. But I purchased yours recently and can’t wait to try it!!
I prefer a very gentle daily exfoliation through one of the Skin1004 toners: the toning toner (PHA) and the poremizing clear toner (AHA, BHA, PHA) when I get more oily... they are great. I started using the one from TO add deodorant a week ago after your recommendation, so far I got a bit of dryness but it's looking promising 😊
I like to use different exfoliating agents, depending on how my skin feels. I use AHA, BHA and PHA interchangeably, and once a fortnight, I use the strong red peeling from The Ordinary.
New subscriber here! I use glycolic acid combined with licorice root toner. My skin is NOT a fan of retinol or Vitamin C, so my choices are limited. Both retinol and Vitamin C creams and serums damage my skin barrier. My skin seems to be so sensitive with each passing day. LOVE your channel and I am now a subscriber! Thank you for these tips and advice!
I am a huge fan of it. Been using Dr. Idriss Major Fade for over a year now. Hate that it's so tacky but it's an amazing product. At 15% it's not for the faint of heart and has lactic acid as well. Everything else pales in comparison because it's so potent.
Hello Rob - I've been using your MAS chemical peel gel and it works really nicely! I don't use it as much as twice a week but when I have used it it hasn't caused irritation and I've been really impressed! This was a great hack video - I will def try the GA and Altruist as I have both in my tool kit - I had stopped the GA after getting your MAS product and also used the GA as Dr Idriss suggested to baste and that works brilliantly. Great video and thank you so much for your personal little message sending me my MAS moisturisers - I was so touched ❤
I still use glycolic acid after every shower. I put it on the back of my arms and legs and on the nape of my neck. It has pretty much cured my keratosis pilaris and seborrheic dermatitis. My thighs are sofa king smooth 🤫
The other channel I watch for skincare other than MAS is Chris Gibson, and I got the glycolic acid from Alpha Skincare he recommends. I will say I can certainly see improvements when consistent. And did I miss any announcements for the MAS Copper Peptides? Noticed it's no longer on the website. Thanks, and GO PACK GO tonight. Love you all!
Hello hun, how are you? The copper peptides will be coming back in the next month and I cant wait :) they have been manufactured so they are just going through testing.. sending you so much love x
I started using glycolic acid as a deodorant because of one of your previous videos❤️. Love it and works great. Trying the lips next. Thanks for the great tips.
I’m using q+a glycolic acid toner almost every morning after washing the face with water only. My favorite! I can use it even around the eyes without any issues. I used to use glycolic acid wash, but hard to find affordable one and with clean ingredients (no fragrance etc). This works excellent for me, glycolic acid is a must for me to keep pores at minimum, and that’s a big deal at age 52. Thanks for a reminder about using it on the lips, I always forget about it. Bottom line, I can’t live without it!
Love glycolic acid and will always use it. I first started it years ago before it was a huge thing. It was the liquid gold by Alpha-H. Never heard of it until then and wasn’t sure what to expect but I loved it and have used it since. Currently using the ordinary 7% toner and loving that too. I’m 51 now and my skin does amazing with it.
Glycolic acid has been effective for my keratosis pilaris. I have it on my upper thighs and arms, and this acid has significantly improved the appearance of my skin. It worked better for me than lactic acid. I don’t use toners, though. I use the real deal, 10%.
Hi 👋🏻. I wanted to started using glycolic on my face but my skin hates it. My face became so irritated and sensitive I had to stop using everything and just use moisturizer for two weeks. Tried it a second time and the same happened. And I didn’t over do it, I used it once that week i started. Now my go to is mandelic. Hopefully I can go up to lactic. I did though use the glycolic acid on my elbows to not throw it out and it made my elbows so smooth. Loved it.
I primarily use glycolic acid on my body via the Naturium body wash. Maybe once a week to once a fortnight depending on time of year. I use The Ordinary anhydrous salicylic acid nightly on my T-zone every night. Maybe once a month or two I will use glycolic acid on my face, mostly on some rougher areas I have from the edges of my mouth down. This was where acne showed up when I was younger and I tend to pick so it’s a bit rough and seems to build up more cells.
Still glycolic acid team, mainly use it on my feet, elbow , knuckles, scalp and underarms 😊. Once a month I use a tiny bit on my face with lots of hydrating cream. Makes my skin so soft😊. Still love and follow your ideas ❤ ❤
I generally use lactic acid, aha's, the blackhead Power Liquid BHA from cosrx, an salicylic acid on my large pores or breakouts. However, your acid serum sounds amazing! Thank you for the great video and information!
I was never really into glycolic acid. I started with the TO lactic acid 5% and when I'm done with my last bottle I'll switch over to MAS again. I really like the blend of acids plus the added benefit of kojic acid 😊 and I can use it even more often than the TO lactic acid because it feels gentler 😊
For my face: TO salicylic acid serum once per week, and Revox glycolic acid once per week. Sometimes, I dermaplain the cheeks instead of the glycolic acid. For my body.. Armpits: Revox glycolic acid a few times per week. Rest of the body: Revox glycolic acid once per week.
Ordinary glycolic & lactic couple times a week are great to help with smoothing texture, maintaining hydration, & brightening….also use it on feet, body & occasionally scalp 👌🏻
I like to use it around my cuticles (usually before bed underneath hand cream) to keep the area smooth. If there’s hard skin in that area I tend to pick at it so this has really helped!
I use several acids. I have a combo and am starting to use Mandela acid peels. I use Glycolic acid 15% from platinum and the glycolic sleeping mask from Medik8. I don’t use it daily. I may be doing this wrong by i change it up and will use a high concentration of glycolic but have now received the MAD acid treatment and will be trying this too. Hope that made sense.
I am using 25% glycolic acid with ph 3.1 (approximately 20% free acid), because I am using it for anti aging benefits. GA had the most science to back up the anti aging claims when it comes to AHA s, especially when you are using free acid value s around 15-20 (or higher). Ofcourse your skin has to tolerate it.
Where do You get that high percentage of it ? Is it by prescription? I want to get it for antiaging as well because I have read about how it’s very good for skin
@@saniaz680 i started with 8 percent from Paula s choice which has a free acid value of 4-5% I think, then start using Isispharma Glyco a medium peeling 12% (ph 3.0) so it has a free acid value of approximately 10 percent glycolic acid and finally since 3 weeks make a step to Isispharma Glyco A Intense peeling 25% (ph 3.1). At this moment I use it 1-2 nights a week.
I use that toner once a week all over my body 15-30 minutes before I take a shower, I hope that's enough time for it to absorb. I don't really use it on my face because I use tretinoin so it can be too much, I switched to Korean exfoliators with pha because it easier to use with tret.
I still use TO's 7% glycolic acid toner occasionally, though no longer on my face. My favourite toner, innisfree Green Tea Balancing Skin toner, has a PHA complex that I find gentle enough for daily use and my skin loves it. Occasionally I use the ELF oat toner, and that has glycolic acid in it, though I think it's at a lower percentage than the TO toner.
My skin tolerates glycolic acid well, and it's really helped my skin, so I'll keep using it. At this point, I don't want to mess around more than necessary with my routine. When I baste my lips, I go in heavy with both strong acid and with cicaplast (?) B5 topped with vaseline over night. My lips always cracks this time of year, but I've had no trouble so far after starting doing this a couple of times a week.
Hi Rob I love using the MAS Light Chemical Peel Gel as a face mask once or twice a week. I was wondering if The Ordinary Glycolic Acid would help with ingrown hairs on the body, or would you recommend another product? ❤
Oh thank you so much hun and I am so happy the MAS peel is working so well for you :) .. I think it would be a great option for ingrown hairs for sure hun its affordable and the right strength to be effective xx
Every low molecular weight product (certain hyaluronic acids, glycolic acid, lactic acid) stings when I apply it and causes sensitivity for a day or two afterwards. Although PHAs don’t cause dramatic results, they don’t cause as many issues. My skin is so sensitive that my current max is twice a week.
On my face I like lactic acid but glycolic acid saved my feet. I had edema in my feet and when the edema was gone there was thick dry skin left. Glycolic acid helped me get my feet back to normal.
I use it on my scalp, feet and armpits, i tried it on the insides of my thighs to see if it would lighten the chub rub marks but nah. Ohh I use it on my elbows too
I'm never touching exfoliators again. It ruined my skin barrier which hasn't been quick to regenerate. Some areas have recovered but the cheeks is sooo slow to get back to normal.
I was using The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% or their Glycolic once or twice a week and getting decent results but since i switched to MAS (omg the smell is soooo good almost identical to the Super Serum mmmm) i found the glow to be much more noticeable and its much less drying .. ive used the AoS Mandelic Pigmentation Corrector Night Serum too ( as a treat lol ) its got soooo much packed into it but super super hydrating but yea overall im sticking with Glycolic for my body and MAS Light Chemical Peel Gel because i enjoy the blend of all esp Kojac for my skin..that is when i can drag my nose away from the bottle lol 😂❤ yes im weird hahahaha 😊
OMG I love the allies one but your right its treat level expensive so I dont use it all the time lol.. Hope your having a great start to the weekend.. sending love x
Glycolic acid 12% of Geek and Gorgeous is the first step in my pm routine next I use retinol 1% of the French brand Nooance:it works wonders !😂 Do you think it's a good idea? Thnks for your great videos😊👍👍
I use glycolic acid before putting on deodorant and it works perfectly. A tip for the ladys: i also use it under and between my breasts where it can get a bit sweaty sometimes.
So guys what is your exfoliating acid of choice, let me know in the comments section below. Love you all xx

On my face I like lactic acid but glycolic acid saved my feet. I had edema in my feet and when the edema was gone there was thick dry skin left. Glycolic acid helped me get my feet back to normal.
I love this approach and it sounds like its working for you.. Hope all is wonderful with you hun.. love x
I still to this day use the Good Molecules glycolic acid exfoliating "toner". Its only 3% and I use it 2-3 times each week.
I use it on my scalp, feet and armpits, i tried it on the insides of my thighs to see if it would lighten the chub rub marks but nah. Ohh I use it on my elbows too
Thank you so much for watching and sharing your thoughts x
If used on scalp does it interfere with colour treated hair?
I'm never touching exfoliators again. It ruined my skin barrier which hasn't been quick to regenerate. Some areas have recovered but the cheeks is sooo slow to get back to normal.
Maybe go for a very gentle one, like mandelic and acid lactic? My partner has strong sensitivity and rosacea, and these work well...
@@Luciana_TK I have tried lactic acid and other milder exfoliators, and they have been no good. I guess my skin just doesn't like them.
@@annana9297 Hmmm what about PHA?
oh I am so sorry to hear that hun but thank you for sharing your experience for others.. love x
Been using it for deodorant it’s works really well
I know right - I didnt think it would be I am a total convert now x
@MadAboutSkin thanks hun and you 😘 gearin up to watch your new vid in a bit when the big mug of Bailey's coffee is made hahaha ✨️🎄🎅🥃😉
Glycolic acid 12% of Geek and Gorgeous is the first step in my pm routine next I use retinol 1% of the French brand Nooance:it works wonders !😂 Do you think it's a good idea? Thnks for your great videos😊👍👍
Love the G&G one.. I always say if it works for you and your skin then keep on with it.. love x
My skin likes glycolic acid so I’m still using it 😊
yay I am so so glad its working for you hun.. thanks for sharing x
I use glycolic acid before putting on deodorant and it works perfectly. A tip for the ladys: i also use it under and between my breasts where it can get a bit sweaty sometimes.
Oh great hack thanks for sharing for others and I am so so happy its working so well for you xx
I like to use mandelic and lactic acids. I have super dry skin. I think glycolic would dry out my skin too much.
I agree hun I think for super dry skin then lactic is the best for sure. love x
Mandelic and lactic acid.😊👍❤
Love both.. Hope all is wonderful with you hun and sending you so so much love x
I always have acne whenever I use Loreal glycolic acid face wash. Like it appears within 12hours of usage😮💨
Thank you so much for watching and sharing your thoughts x
Isn't glycolic acid on scalp dangerous since we can't put sunscreen on it ?
No not really as the hair will cover.. I maybe wouldn't do it if your going to the beach in high sun but day to day this wont be an issue x
@@MadAboutSkin Ok thank you I will try it then!
Lactic acid didn’t help much with acne marks as much as glycolic acid
Thank you so much for watching and sharing your thoughts x
Can you use glycolic acid if you have moles?
hi hun, yes you can x

Twice a week, 18%.
