I saw them perform this song last night. Likely the top 5 live songs I have EVER heard. Atmospheric as hell. reminded me of a Radiohead show. Not to be missed.

such a shame the TH-cam video won´t capture the complexity of the sound. I don´t really know Shakey Graves that well but this is such a unique rendition of this well known classic. Glad to have stumbled upon it.
Yes. I saw him live and his guitar is like thunder! So much sound but you still have no problems hearing him singing.
I saw him live at a small event a few months ago, and he played this. Super moving and powerful to hear in person, the recording doesn't begin to capture it.

Saw him last night with Sierra Ferrell (Think a young Dolly Parton). He threw in Pixies and David Bowie. Then in the 2nd half he did his busking act and played non stop for 30 minutes. Even kept playing while he fixed his drum pedal.
He doesn't disappoint, at least not in my opinion.

Been a Pixies fan for 28 years! Just heard Shakey Graves last year with “Roll Them Bones” Love the cover & new subscriber now! Thanks for the post! There is always a place for different genres of music! My friends & family think I listen to weirdest music but I am cut from a different cloth! I listen to everything! Mostly music that is not mainstream popular because that’s how I expand my mind.

Loved the performance huge fan of shaky and your channel. The microphone's gain is set a bit too high making the vocals a bit harsh. Not every microphone can handle this guy's voice.

Nail on head! Just saw Shakey Graves at an outdoor folks festival in Lyons Colorado. I had no idea who Shakey Graves were. By the end of the night I was front stage and ready to join his cult. This was the opening song and it echoed down the river valley and canyon walls……

Umm..I was obsessed with Jeff Buckley and omg the chills I got when I heard this!!! I would have stopped the world for Jeff Buckley's voice and his words, it didn't even hit me a hard time in my life or even speak to me in my situation then, but it resonated so much that I literally couldn't contain the emotions I felt..and all I could do was cry, he teared up a little too, because he knew I 100% had 'the ear'..the first time my dad played his version of hallelujah..on a Casette tape that he recorded from a radio station (oh imagine the excitement in your life just sitting and waiting to record a song off the radio because it spoke to you...I envied him back then but that's what I strive for today to one day in the future sit and have several drinks and hit record whenever music speaks to me...I mean what Else in life could you want)
