The 2024 F1 Baku GP was super entertaining. This was a real breakout performance from Oscar Piastri who beat Charles Leclerc to the win. Max Verstappen struggled all weekend and was beaten by his championship rival Lando Norris who started down in P15 after some bad luck in qualifying. Rookies Oliver Bearman and Franco Colapinto also starred with some amazing performances. In this video, review the weekend in a very serious manner (sarcasm).

Yeah I felt bad for him. Finally was about to get a breakthrough and it ended so abruptly.
LOL! The spot where Checo and Sainz collided kinks to the left about 10-15 degrees, Sainz turned with the road and Checo just sat there going straight (towards the right side of the track) with Sainz right beside him. Checo shouldn’t even be driving in F1 at this point.
@@AlexPeace246given the onboard thats just not true. The road stays relatively flat and sainz has half a car width to the right of him. It's insanely clear that he just wanted the slipstream. Both at fault, racing incident.

Piastri and Leclerc give off sibling vibes like Charles is the older brother who can’t help but be happy to see lil bro succeed even at his own detriment at times. Monaco and Zandvoort were him just showing Oscar the ropes so he can level up.

charles and oscar are by far the best drivers this season. oscar is showing great moves, he clearly has a great understanding of his strength and can read the track exceptionally well and charles just keeps on proving that he is Ferrari’s golden boy for a reason, his consistency and never ending strive to prove himself and bring honor to the team is what create miracles. them being able to race wheel to wheel for 20+ laps and keep it clean and entertaining was the biggest highlight. i really wanted charles to win but I will not shy away for two pilots showing off their craft in best ways possible. in a way I can see some parallels with charles vs max. the way those two fight is unmatched in the current generation. i feel like oscar is getting there. he’s slowing joining their ‘don’t try moves on me, I will match it and send us into the wall’ circle. yeah, great things await us for suuuure

Just remember that the constructor's championship is THE IMPORTANT championship... The driver's one is just for PR. Once you understand this, you'll start to realize the tragedy that Red Bull's campaign is turning out to be.

Leclerc had the pace to win in Baku. He had to defend better during Oscar's overtake and he would've pulled away from the lead in clean air. He went easy on Oscar not knowing the McLaren was a rocket on the straights

I can't say that was also the fault of Charles. They were doing the routine, because the hards are a thorn in Ferrari's car and take way too long to get in the right temps, if he did defend, his tyres are definitely gonna get cooked way sooner.

We do need more teams, and more races. I think it's all coming. F1 struck gold with their Drive to Survive, and 2024 is an amazing season. The Brad Pitt movie is coming out and it looks pretty legit. I think F1 is coming into a new era and they're going to have to expand, and if they do it right (not too much, keep the 2-man team dynamic always) it'll provide more while maintaining the good drama.

Charles would have cruised easily to P1 if he was in the Mclaren yesterday. Seeing how norris managed to went from P17 to P4, it was clear that the car was the difference maker in Baku. I won't discredit Piastri but it's just clear that one car isn't equal to all the others.
Yeah true. Leclerc really squeezed every drop of performance from the Ferrari. I also remember them saying before the Monza upgrade they’d focus more on providing a car that suits Leclerc’s driving style rather than chase performance. Cuz he’s the kind of driver who can you can get an extra 2-3 tenths from if the car is to his liking. Essentially, he IS the upgrade

I love the idea of more teams in the competition. Add another 2 teams. Unfortunayely nepotism seems to get in the way. Get rid of Stroll, Bottas, Riccardo, Zhou, Kevin M, to give the rookies a chance. They may fail but we have seen the Bearman, Colapinto and Lawson have all had great starts

Tbf, this race, more than the coming of age of Piastri, was the demonstration of what happens when the guy is given first driver treatment all weekend, doesn't have to deal with Norris, and is allowed to drive at his fullest from start to finish. Hope this will be the first win of a long "Lando Norris humiliation tour".

No one is taking anything away from Oscar, but it McLaren ARE cheating. The rear wing config doesn't give just an advantage in the straights. It lets them run MUCH more downforce without losing any speed on the straights cause of the mini DRS, meaning they have much more speed in low speed due to high load under deceleration. It's a loophole similar to Ferrari 2019, which everyone loves to say is illegal
If McLaren can keep up a decent car, OP will win in 25' He's just that much a machine.

Charles actually had the fastest car and the setup excuse is something no one at Ferrari or their drivers are making except the fans. Ferrari was just 3 kph slower than the McLaren and that too was not because of there downforce setup but because Ferrari uses smaller turbos which is what helps them in street track in acceleration but less overall top speed

Don’t think saying Oscar ‘25 champ is wild. Yeah I can put my hands up and say I prolly bash Norris bit much for laughs. But honestly, I think he’s very good. His quali pace is outstanding. Zandvoort was superb from him - very clinical. Just a few small errors make a big difference for him. Rn he’s slightly better, but OP has been moving differently now it’s his 2nd season
