    Thanks so much for doing an acceleration test. So many people just spin the tire in the air and call it good.

    you ever check out the asi controllers can increase the rpms without changing your torque output with the same sprocket

    • @VOLITANT
      @VOLITANT  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you referring to flux weakening? If so the votol has this ability however increasing the rpms is at the cost of more amps used, the other alternative to more rpm is simply higher voltage however there is a saturation point where the motor can not put out any more torque/rpm without causing excessive heat

    So sick dude I'm getting closer and closer to finishing mine. Check out part 1 and 2 on my channel if you haven't already! Also where did you find those 5S 27AH lipos?! 60mph top speed is awesome. What has your ride time and or range been like? I wish I had someone to film me...cue the 🎻

      Thanks buddy, I have just checked it out, awesome start so far!! The lipos were on AliExpress, and bought on a whim but so far they seem very promising for the price, ride time is very similar to my smaller 2000w(18s20ah) bike which is expected as whilst this bikes battery is slightly larger, the bike weighs slightly more, draws more amps, larger grippier tyres etc etc but still a good 15-20 mile range with how a ride and damn there's no way you can't crack the throttle every five seconds it's just too addictive haha

    • @VOLITANT
      @VOLITANT  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure does! My charger essentially sees the battery as a huge 5s 108Ah battery when all 4 are in parallel, you can buy cheap balance boards which I tried but it gave dodgy cell resistance values so I made my own balance lead instead

    • @vincentpernicano3277
      @vincentpernicano3277 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@VOLITANT how did you do it? Just solder together the connections from the equivalent cell from each of the 4 packs together to the final lead going to the charger? You don't really even need a bms for convenient charging with that set up as long as you don't overcharge then the controller takes care of the lvc...nice dude, nice

    • @VOLITANT
      @VOLITANT  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@vincentpernicano3277 yeah that's it, all the leads in parallel, yeah I have no BMS as the charger balances them perfectly every time, Im sure there's some good BMS out there but have seen quite a few people have problems and for the money (£100 charger set up) it's a lot cheaper and reliable, in the future I will make a harness which allows the pack to be charged in the bike as well

    • @vincentpernicano3277
      @vincentpernicano3277 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@VOLITANT Ah I see the caveat is that you have to disconnect your series connections and re connect them in parallel to charge...makes sense. I'm curious how you would set it up so that you could charge it without having to swap the connections to parallel 🤔. Also you say the two psu in series gives you 24V so how are you charging up to full voltage (82-84V)....does the isdt handle that?

    • @VOLITANT
      @VOLITANT  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@vincentpernicano3277 yes that's correct initially when I built my first bike I was concerned the lipos would get beat up inside the box during riding so I made it so that I would remove the batteries for inspection each time but now I know that they are completely fine I had thought about simultaneously wiring the parallel charging loom in tandem with the series output loom to power the bike all inside the box so that it can also be charged still in the bike but haven't tried it yet.
      The isdt only charges up to 8s and operates on 10-40v but requires at least 24v for 30A output but because each of the 4 5s lipos are plugged into the charger in parallel it only sees it as one giant 5s 108ah lipo (27ah x 4) and as long as all 4 batteries are drained at the same rate each time which they are in the bike the charger will safely balance all cells at the same time.

    • @VOLITANT
      @VOLITANT  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      On the first page other than the busbar current I left all the parameters stock, and I would share the other pages but when I first got thist motor and controller I complete messed up the other pages settings and had to start from scratch, and I read a few of the newer model controllers values don't mean the same thing on the older version so I can't really recommend using my parameters as it could damage your controller or just not work at all, it's a bit of a risk

      Using 8awg to connect each lipo together but the main two output wires are 6awg , and yeah it's a 12v version, some come with 8mm contacts and some 10mm but they both seem to handle the current fine even at 200A there is no heat but as I say they can be built slightly differently as there's a lot of them
