The original author has zero involvement in the making of the anime, the director of the anime chose to keep a slightly open ending but I'm afraid he's 100% dead. Although he could've lived through the incident because he's gone through worse, he decided to die peacefully because the stab reminded him that he and Eiji live in completely different worlds and for Eiji to be 100% safe Ash was better of dying leaving Eiji alone, also he basically had to lay low for the rest of his life since he was wanted and presumed dead so he was practically done with life.

Never buddy..... I haven't even watched from ep 20 onwards to spare myself the pain in the end.... I watched all four episodes of this fan made adaptation of garden of light manga and I was crying, sobbing in each episode... I guess after I watched GoL fan made eps back to back, by the time they reached ep 4 I accepted ash's death along with Eiji... A true masterpiece
OMG I can't believe someone really made this. Main plot of BF is so touching in itself but these side - stories make everything more profound. I still can't describe the way I feel when Ash's photograph, 'The Dawn', is revealed in the final pages of GoL...it's so sad but there's also that warmth in it, as if Ash is the source of it and the rays are reaching out to you from the picture...can't describe it :'-) Thank you so much for this ! Great fans of a great series ❣

I Just found this because of tik tok. I love banan fish so much, Banana fish will always have a secial place in my heart and to be honest I can't heal from this anime. I am very sad since i never saw garden of light and finding this made me so nostalgic, sad. Thanks for making this
i cant explain how i feel about banana fish. I love how it made me so emotional, its a pure masterpiece but i hate it so much for making me cry when anything reminds me of it. I hate how much i tried to get over it but i coudnt, i hate im crying rn and i hate the end. But i love the small moments they had, i love how Ashu always protected him, i love it. Before starting Banana fish, someone said that they loved eachother like lovers do, i obviously didnt get it back then but now i do. And i wish i couldnt. Ill just accept the fact that ill never be the same person i was before Banana fish, ill accept that im never gonna get over it and ill accept how weak this anime made me. Sometimes i wish i could go back in time and tell myself that i shoudnt watch it.

After watching the anime, he pulls up the Garden of Light manga (Edit: does a full reaction) and says barely anything at all. You can pause to read it and the screen it's on is pretty large so it's easy to see. He also reacts to the Banana Fish Private Opinion manga at the beginning of the video, which shows how Ash and Blanca met. I didn't see anything romantic between Sing, Eiji, or Akira. But maybe it's shown in a different manga? It's still hard to believe though, since Akira is much younger than Sing, and Eiji seems unlikely to move on with another romantic interest. I thought Sing and Eiji were only close friends.

This was really well done! The expressions, the audio, the colors - it all brings it to life and the effort is amazing! I wish I could have found it way earlier. But it also helps to make me realize that my heart wouldn't be able to handle a season 2.

I just read a theory video that Ash is alive based on the opening intro where Ash is walking outside the snow after being stabbed...he must have survived... but i come to think on this Epilogue that would contradict the ending. Oh, i wish there would be a Season 2 to give way on Second Chances..even just an exception on whatever crimes he did. That was just caused by his abusive past & he deserves to live. Thanks again!
