Hello friend, thanks for continuing to react. Originally in the Ygdrassil game there was a Race class called "heteromorph", who unlike the humanoid classes, had high starting power and access to many more abilities and immunities, but also weaknesses. Also, one of the drawbacks was that other players could kill heteromorphic players without "penalty", so in the game it became customary to chase them to level up quickly, to the point of almost cyberbullying. Momonga suffered from this until he was saved by his friend Touch Me [whos full name is Touch Me If You Can] (the creator of Sebas the butler) , who introduced him to his first friends and the 9 together founded their own guild under Touch Me's initial leadership. Since all of them were Heteromorphs and only accepted Heteromorphs instead of having other classes to balance better, which initially put them at a disadvantage, they chose a euphemistic name for their guild: Nine's Own Goal. Later, due to the fights between Touch Me and another fellow named Ulbert (creator of Demiurge), Momonga was chosen to take command of the Guild as he was a person everyone got along with. They then changed the Guild name to an anagram of the former, which became Ainz Ooal Gown. That is the explanation of the Name in particular. In the new world there are many things that don't work exactly like in the game or have completely new functions, that's why it takes Ainz so long to control the Remote Viewing Mirror. That's also why he's surprised that the Death Knight can abandon him, when in the game the summons had to stay a certain distance from the summoner even if they didn't want to. Being a cautious person, Ainz is afraid that the inhabitants of this new world are stronger than him, so he first tries a level 9 spell and then a weaker level 5 spell that could not harm him, but the knights cannot resist any. I take this opportunity to clarify that in the game there were 10 levels of magic plus a level 11 that worked as a special attack and that I will explain later. Level 5 Lightning is very low by the standards of a level 100 player like Ainz. The Mask that Ainz wears has some kind of joke in it. In Japan they celebrate Christmas, but they don't do it following any Christian influence, but they copy from afar what they see in the US and that is why it has become a holiday more similar to "Valentine's Day". In the Ygdrassil game, this item was given away on Christmas Day to all players who were online because they "didn't have a date" that night. Hence the euphemistic name of Mask of Envy. Now it is clear that Ainz and his base are not exactly in the Ygdrassil game, but in a different world, although for some reason there seems to be magic and items that existed in the game. The Great Tomb of Nazarick (the name of the base), is located near the border between 3 great nations: the Re Estize Kingdom, the Baharuth Empire and the Slane Theocracy. That's all for now, I'll see you all in the next Chapter. Let me know if the comments are inappropriate in any way. And thanks for reacting.
@@Nemesis10001 When the Guild changed their leadership to Momonga they also got more members so they had to change from Nine's Own Goal to something else. When you switch the Letters of the first Name you get Ains Ooal Gown. Hope this helps!
Even though I've watched Overlord multiple times and have seen a few reactions, paragraph people like you are the best. You're doing something very important, especially for this show. Thank you, paragraph person @KarNeoLeX
15:00 Not many people consider the possible political complications of aligning with a state-run entity that basically rents out martial power. You're pretty sharp. The author was a D&D player, so a lot of these questions have been considered, and either explained directly in the Light Novel or will be shown through snippets of dialogue as the show progresses. Just about everything has an explanation, and a lot of it is interconnected. Such as the magic system influencing economics, which in turn affects the upward economic mobility of peasants, on and on and on. Every explanation is like three layers deep, as D&D GMs are used to having to fill in these details to build a believable world to play in. Also relatedly, the author said that one of his inspirations for writing this story in the first place was that his old D&D gaming group had all moved on, or moved away, or were too busy to play anymore. So that feeling in the first episode of good days gone by, of absent friends, of nostalgia for past adventures, strikes a chord because it comes from a genuine place. Overlord is a show with OP characters and wild violence, but its world is cohesive and fascinating, and at its core is a really emotional heart that very few other shows in the genre manage to capture. That is what makes it a standout classic.
im not sure how true this is but i heard that Overlord is actually based/build upon a Campaign he had with his friends which they couldnt continue due to them having real life obligations.
@@KarNeoLeX Honestly, there are characters that straight up seem like they are cameos, so while I haven't heard confirmation of that rumor, it definitely seems plausible.
A few things about this series. First, pay attention to details, it's very rewarding. It's possible to figure things out ahead of reveals, or to notice entire story arcs and connections that you might otherwise have missed (not everything is necessarily going to be explicitly revealed). In particular, pay attention to tiers of magic and explicitly stated levels of power. That grasp heart is 9th tier magic or that the knight died so easily to "mere 5th tier magic" for exemple. 8:18 : The thing about a goblin army is a bit of a mistranslation. Ainz said "gunzei", it is a generic term that means "a military force", it can be anything from a squad to an army. Ainz didn't mean that he was giving Enri an army. 12:35 : No, the mask of jealousy isn't magical at all, it's not magically making them trust him, it's just covering his face.
He’s using a maxed out RP account. Against an equally leveled PVP player, Ainz-sama has little chance 1v1. But against a world that did receive the games most recent game update & removal of old level cap… lightyears ahead
I really love this anime community last time im watching Livestream reacting to the movie trailer and when we see the CGI instead of mad everyone is fucking laugh

たぶん、素材が動物の皮や自然のものだからじゃないかな。
