I honestly don't know why people don't talk about his PLUS 41 in the 22/23 season. That's major and I've I'm not mistaken that led the team, that's a huge add for the current team glad to have him back.
I remember that last playoff run, he wasn't very productive at all. Thats why they walked away from re-signing him. During the year he was good though.
@@THEHOCKEYSKATEDOWN Look at his career numbers. I hate when people only remember 1 playoff and overly judge a player on that basis, but, with him it's every playoff year and the sample size is big enough.
I so want Tarasenko, I thought hik and Hughes would have something together, but not looking like that now, thought JVR too, but Tatar got along great with everyone, easy transition
I think hes done Rob, from doing the lines on paper there was one spot open and Tatar was signed. I really want Tarasenko, but not looking like that now, unless a trade is made
Yeah I agree with everything said. Tatar was a 20 goal guy for us and a legitimate leadership guy. 2 way guy - he was a +41 for us in his last season and they let him go. His last 2 seasons he didn't fit in well I guess with the Avs or Kraken. He has 220 career goals and 15 seasons already but worth a shot and the price is right. I had always wanted Pacioretty but after 17 seasons and his recent injuries and low stats he's probably fully cooked.
Dude played well for us and got focused on money. Tried to leave to get more money and failed. Why he didn’t just resign last season is beyond me. Imo as a bottom 6 ageing forward. If you find a home, stay there tuna.
NOT a top 6 player and basically a throw-away signing. Would have rather seen a young kid like Graeme Clarke take that spot. But Fitz shipped our best forward prospects for nothing, so we have to sign an old retred to appease the fan base after such a brutal FA period. NJ picked up the league's trash It will be fun however, watching Tuna score more than garbage man Palat who "earned" 193k per point last season 🤡
Don't like it. He wasn't worth the 1.5 million he got paid last year. He was abysmal. Why is he getting 1.8 here? He should be getting 875k tops. Poor attempt by Fitz to try and cover for the fact that he failed to deliver the impact forward that we need in the top 6. This isn't the answer.
And 1.8 after a bad year too, maybe he had other offers and that drive it up a bit. He works well with the guys in the room, I like Tatar but I prefer him more in a 3rd line role, I wanted Tarasenko, but maybe Fitzgerald is working on a trade, who knows
I like it. Tuna never should've left. I think he will have a rebound season in NJ.
Absolutely
Solid player. Always hustling. You can see he gives 100%.
Me too, I liked Tuna but we were in a weird spot with our cap when his contract was up. Glad he's back though, skates hard
Welcome tuna. We miss you.

Glad you mentioned that, yes +41 is very impressive. This is a great addition. A loved player on and off the ice
Love the signing!
Me too, great signing by Fitzgerald especially only 1 year too
So happy hes back
I know me too, Tatar is a really good compliment with our team both on and off the ice
I. love. this. Tatar is perfect fit and he is what we need. Buys some time with the young guys.
It was a good signing, I agree. Very familiar & got along great with our team and its a seemless transition with our players
Excited to hear Chico call him Tar-tar again
I know right lol, Chico is the best
Looking at Tatar's playoff numbers throws cold water on my enthusiasm but I can't complain about bang for the buck.

He was a top scorer in MTL. Devils are one of the most improved teams with these smart signings. Upgraded every position
Yeah he was awesome in Montreal. I agree Austin, devils did well this off-season with their moves. Slafkovsky signed a nice long term deal too
@@THEHOCKEYSKATEDOWN Which is a steal. Slaf has so much potential especially if Dach is healthy to play with him.
😂😂😂😂😂🤡
This offseason for NJ has been TRASH 🗑
Jealous!
Tatertot! Great signing due to his chemistry, on and off the ice. Thought maybe we get Tarasenko or JVR after Henrique re-upped with Edmonton.
I so want Tarasenko, I thought hik and Hughes would have something together, but not looking like that now, thought JVR too, but Tatar got along great with everyone, easy transition
Happy he's back I know we cant keep everyone but still hurts
I know, Cap management sucks, but glad to see Tuna back
The Devils brought back both Tatar & Noesen! I like that!
Both great signings
Both great signings
Foote too no?!!
Gotta feeling Fitz isn’t done cookin yet. Think he’s gonna sign JVR for 1 yr at 1.25 mil

Bro I'm just getting this video wtf
Thats weird, I released 2 videos this day maybe that's why, IDK, TH-cam is weird with this sometimes
@@THEHOCKEYSKATEDOWN yup I hear ya
He is a bottom 6 guy at best, but for 1 year, no risk.
Exactly, but hell probably factor into the top 2 lines
How do you feel about pursuing anymore top 6 forwards in trades and who would you aim for?
Anson i really want Tarasenko, but getting Tatar seals up the lines unless there's a move coming, well see
I had a feeling he would be back. Good signing

I agree, & maybe it was NJ too not offering him anything earlier as soon as free agency opened and maybe that upset him, who knows
Why did they need another forward though? I would give that spot to Halonen. He seems like the kind of guy who can get it done.
I like Halonen, hopefully he gets inserted when we deal with injuries. That dude played awesome in Utica, scores, battles, and fights.
@@THEHOCKEYSKATEDOWN I would just use him regardless of injuries. He plays the right way.
