He's just criminally underrated. A player who gets written off way too soon, too frequently, only to prove his worth time and time again. We always say that all we want players to do is give 100% and Soucek does that every minute he's on the field. Love him. - Charlie
I always used to enjoy listening to Potter speaking to the press as he seemed honest, open and insightful. Moyes was always very defensive, conceited and spiky without offering much information. Lopetegui never gave anything. So refreshing to have a knowledgeable and likeable bloke as the clubs figurehead and spokesperson ⚒️
Graham Potter has been a fantastic appointment so far, you can tell the players have clear directions on the pitch, can't wait to have Todibo and Bowen back and also the signing of a new striker.
What a difference some energy and hope gives us all! The pressing game and leading from the front was amazing to see, I think this will help give us an edge and see us score first a lot more than under prior managers
Jack, this was the west ham my age group saw as kids. The passion, the attacking passing,, pressing, baller in the middle, tricky wingers, crowd on their feet. This is why we wanted Moyes out. This is what we have been pushing for. Hopefully this will make sense now after seeing what we believe our club to be
We had most of that with Moyes to be fair, except pressing high up. We used to press in our own third, but otherwise, we would concede possession to gain space in transition. But we definitely had those other elements and when we were in the top 4 for periods during the season, we were clearly playing some good football. I'm wishing Potter well and looking forward to see his brand of football, but I just don't think it's necessary to make endless comparisons. We've yet to see if a team can play Potter's tactics and hold a European spot in the table. Brighton currently 9th. Forest playing counter-attacking football. So, without the players to hold possession and be press-resistant that the wealthier clubs can buy, it's not clear how we gain a competitive advantage with players who don't have those skills consistently. Can Potter play like this and consistently win? And what happens if we stay mid-table, how long before fans tire of it or start blaming the board for not spending more etc.
Hearing you boys talking about the match, started getting me excited again😅. On Fridays 1st half,we made Villa look like brum City😂. A confidence in possession we havent seen since the Pandemic.Sunday was more than a delight, cos we were destined to lose😊. We Truly needed Potter⚒️. Karen 'The Teeth' Brady❤ pushed this to happen...RESPECT! Your analysis of WH⚒️ is 'next level' compared to whats out there,& some are pretty Good⚒️👌. Keep up the Good work lads ⚒️COYI⚒️
Great to see team spirit and players clearly enjoying and trusting in Potter. Couple of key signings will open up more options going forward and still need to work out how to get Kudos more effective. Good video as ever.
Was definitely an improved performance! Loppy’s tactics reminded me of a broken clock, sometimes he got it right (Ipswich at home and Newcastle away) but like a broken clock- it’s right twice a day lol, was so chaotic with the changes, hopefully potter finds his best team whilst keeping the other players hungry and involved, I’m confident he will :)
AU, nice to see the smiles on faces. A very fortunate result but well earned. More Doctor GP because of our injuries than Wizard Potter. Hopefully, after viewing how much the players backed the manager, the board will also.
There is no such thing as bad players at this level...you guys were slagging Alvarez 3 weeks ago. Nice to see you recognize how proper coaching and a suitable system has such an impact. Imagine potter getting kudus (also slagged off) and bowen and summerville firing. Upside is immense.
You should've seen my reaction when he coined the term 'pocupation' to describe occupying pockets of space during this week's Preview show on Patreon. Only Cal Goodall, one of a kind. - Charlie
Kudus was fouled relentlessly and couldn’t even get a free kick from the ref. I bet his calves are peppered with holes from all the studs he took. His shirt is probably a size bigger now, too. I was surprised it wasn’t ripped he was held so often, on and off the ball. The tactic worked but shouldn’t have been allowed.
Yes the team was far better in terms of cohesion, commitment and strategy. But, for example, focussing on the 10 minutes of quality football around the goals, we have small spells of doing the same under JLo. Don’t get me wrong, I’m delighted with Potter and agree re recent managers but this is a little revisionist. JLo started this possession approach and for some reason, probably when it’s allied with Potter’s overall control and vision, it clicked more (but not completely) in this game. Let’s keep our feet a little on the ground and not be so blinkered
I have a controversial opinion… I’m going to caveat it first, overall I do like Wan-Bissaka I think his going to ground with big tackles, running with the ball, and even crossing is great. However, I feel he is a weakness in defence when facing someone like Iwobi who exposed him twice with the same cross/goal. Too often he gets caught out and looks a bit lost when the ball is moving around fast around our box. Am I the only one that thinks this?
And again …. The comments about chance creation and the quip that JLo created “nada”. We seemed, to me, the be creating far higher attempts on goal under JLo than previously. Didn’t we have the highest number of chances just a few games ago?! Come on lads, be fair
Wow! You all look and sound just like I feel-happy and optimistic. Great summary!
Soucek was excellent, club legend is a bit of a stretch at the moment, but he'll go down as one of my favourites. Performed under every manager
King Souy⚒️🤩⚒️

The first couple of years under Moyes when we would score early doors were a beautiful thing to behold. I long for it's return! - Charlie

We are going to the very top
the perfect title
Most people would say ‘extra man’ only cal would call it ‘numerical superiority’ 😅 always using such unnecessary long vocabulary and I love it !

This is the West Ham Way.

He's probably used to it, to be fair! His ability to cope with so many players attacking him at once is amazing really. - Charlie
