@anjou6497 there's a mixture of midges, flies and horseflies depending on the time of year. Those clouds are usually just midges, the easiest of the bunch!
@@WestSpirit Yes, midges seems to appear in damp, misty areas, and near water. That's why fly fishermen suffer so much from midges in the UK ! These horses are very beautiful, the foals enchant me . 🤗🥰
If this is Wild horses Then they are The most Well conditionen Wild horses I have seen - and no scars ? Only minor it’s Winther time and they are all Well fed
We definitely do see many that are beat up, have wounds from stallion battles and predators, and often come out of winter skin and bone. But they are miraculous at recovering and healing and are so so strong
Thank God 🙏 we have Help Alberta Wildies Society fighting to protect these beautiful majestic bands of wild horses. They have a TH-cam channel. Well worth watching, on how they are collecting footage of these horses and how hardly any of their Foals survive from predators 😢😢 🐨🐨🦘
@florence2095 ahh, yes we know of Darrel and barbs work. They sure are a blessing. Some of these horses are in Darrell's range, but we mostly spend time further north of them.

Because they live wild, totally in tune with their natural surroundings, purely present at all times. They are their intuition. A magical way of walking through life..
Almost all of them on Elk flats(the majority of where are footage is taken) are still with us. We just got back from seeing them all. In the sundre area only about 10% survive.

Where are these at in AB? I really enjoy watching these scenes. When in my teens horses were my transportation.
These seem to be in better condition than the wild horses in the States, yet winters are harsher in Alberta. Are these a stronger bigger breed?
