To answer the coma question, the longest a person has been in a coma and eventually recovered is 37 years. Terry Wallis was in a coma for nearly 20 years after being injured in a car accident in 1984, and he regained consciousness in 2003. However, he remained in a minimally conscious state for several more years before recovering further and being able to communicate and interact with his family.

I loved King’s pop-off moment in the end. After everything he saw, he basically said “Y’all dumb, y’all ignorant, and you on your own now. I’m Canadian now!”
    One of the best. ❤

What many people don't realize, even the OG Boondocks watchers; is that this episode was just one of Huey's prophetic dreams. Dating back to the first episode his first lines were something like "I am not a prophet, but I often have prophetic dreams.." Hence why Huey was the only main character narrating throughout this episode.

The sad thing is that Guinness have a record for the longest coma; it was 42 years and she died in 2012.
The longest coma where the person woke up was 29 years.

8:04 I think this part in the episode is trying to highlight how Rosa Parks is always credited as the FIRST African American to not give up her seat, when in actuality, she was not the first..
A woman named Claudette Colvin, was 15 at the time, did the same thing but wasn’t given the same recognition. I saw another interview from the 90s with this older black gentleman who said when he was kid, him and his mom were thrown off the bus down south when she refused to leave her seat.
Long story short, many black people did what Rosa Parks did during Jim Crow..

    • @theprotagonist1311
      @theprotagonist1311 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

I don't remember if it was her or another woman who was pregnant at the time too but they didn't want her to be highlighted because she got pregnant out of wedlock which was would have negatively impacted the bus boycotts.
It's been a while so memory is not as sharp when it comes to this bit of information

Edwarda O'Bara's 42-year diabetic coma, which began in 1970 after she contracted pneumonia in 1969, is considered the longest coma in history according to Guinness World Records. Other people who have been in long comas include:
    Elaine Esposito
Died in 1978 at the age of 43 years and 357 days after being in a coma for 37 years and 111 days.
    Munira Abdulla
Waked up in 2019 after being in a coma for 27 years following a brain injury in a car crash in 1991. Abdulla was treated in hospitals in the U.A.E., U.K., and Germany and underwent months of therapy before regaining consciousness.
    Jacob Creasman
Waked up after an 8-year coma following a brain aneurysm. Creasman regained consciousness but struggled to speak.
Comas can last anywhere from a few minutes to a few weeks, but longer comas often lead to brain death or a persistent vegetative state.

“Turn the other cheek” was taught in Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, but it is limited only to insults. It has nothing to do with violence.
In the culture, a slap on the cheek was an insult.

Your question about why Robert didn't get Credit while Rosa did is actually pretty relevant to real history. Rosa's protest was staged, like they say, but it was modeled after a real moment. Claudette Colvin courageously refused to give up her seat when confronted and was arrested. The leaders of the Civil Rights movement did not make big deal out of it because she was a 15 year old, unwed teenage mother. It was bad PR. So they had Rosa recreate it since she would be a better face for the movement.

Other people who have spent years in comas include:
Edwarda O'Bara: An American woman who fell into a diabetic coma in 1970 at the age of 16 after contracting pneumonia. She remained in a coma for 42 years before passing away in 2012.
Munira Abdulla: A woman from the United Arab Emirates who was in a coma for 27 years after a car accident in 1991 left her with a severe brain injury. She woke up in 2019.
