Nice hearing about Rob's experience on Solo. I was one of the many SAs/crowd/extras used in the making of the movie at Pinewood in both iterations and remember being maneuvered into position 'so the camera could catch all of us...' - and it did! 👍
Interesting. The show kept my attention with my memory and imagination doing most of the work. I must ask, What is the purpose of making a video for TH-cam if you're not showing us?
Thanks for pointing out that the time spent on dailies for the artists is better to be limited with the necessary time only. Pixels won't be done by themselves.
The reference shot which is spoken of can it be added? so that the viewer who has not watched the movie can get some idea of what was final and what could be cbb. It would also be great to see the faces of the participants, as it gives much more to be invested in. Thanks for the podcast.
Todd touched on a feature of his Enterprise shot never showing the entire ship in the frame. I don't know if there's a specific name for this phenomenon, but I've noticed that sometimes truly great shots deny you that perfect frame that contains the entire subject. I think, because of this, it keeps you hooked on watching it evolve as it fully plays out. I've seen this be true of many classic shots when I went back to review them more closely. Would have been great to show these shots on loop for TH-cam while they discussed them, though!
Had a similar experience watching episode 6 of star wars, my first time watching it on a theater, and it was amazing, huge star wars fan, but the vibes of the theater, the people, the emotion is just so good.
This podcast is so cool. Disney( MARVEL, ILM etc) is getting into TH-cam podcasting now. Wow!! The domination of cinematic entertainment continues. 😳😏😁
Sorry to beat this drum, but again why is Jenny Ely not credited? I see her face, I heard her voice, but every description I've seen says there are only two people on this podcast.
You're right. This is now fixed. It was correct in other locations but we got it wrong here and I should have caught it. Apologies and thanks for flagging.
So wanted visuals to support the revelations and discussion. Really disappointing that the artists behind the marvels aren't allowed to showcase their work, you'd hope that the studios and distributors would leap at the chance to promote the work for possible renewed consumption.
You guys are true wizzards! I'm a big fan of your great work! You take me to new worlds and show me amazing things I have never seen - on a huge screen, where I can immerse myself in this world! Thank you for taking me on this ride, again and again!
There's sooo much effects history and specials guests to call....this can go for years and years!!!! What a time to be alive!!
Extremely interesting subject for a podcast! I'm eagerly awaiting more.

A petition to make this a visual podcast!!!
This is such an effective and valuable contribution to our industry and the artists who will join it.
Thank you for doing this .

When I saw there's a YT vid I was afraid this podcast was going to have a visual component, glad it's all just audio!

Guys you're literally Disney, could you really not clear at least a still frame from the shots you're talking about?
It’s a podcast
