oh wow my mom used to play the heck out of this game when i was little.
later she proudly told me that this was the only game she was ever able to complete.
This game came out when I was 9 and I was obsessed! It was my intro to the Star Wars universe. I played this for hours and hours while listening to music.
This game should be part of the free games list Windows gives along with Solitaire and Pinball.
It's nothing special, but a lot more entertaining than those two.
I've played it through all the 'awards'(green lightsaber, instant Force ability) and it's quite a decent way to waste time.
Yeah i remember getting the dragon's heart thingy for the green saber and was blown away. this game had alot more that people gave it credit for
One of my ALL time favorite PC games. I WISH I could STILL play it today...
It us downloadable on internet archive
Oh my God I was obsessed with this game when I was a kid
Oh Man I remember this. I once got a Lucas Arts Collection and this was one of the Games included...man...great Memories.
I want to thank Yoda Stories for teaching me how to read when I was a kid.
I love how Clint keeps the volume level consistent. No screaming into the microphone. Perfect for falling asleep to.
I played this in the late 90s as a kid. I was playing the X-Wing and Dark Forces series at the time, and I STILL had a lot of fun with this. Even back then I didn't expect much from a $10 title, but it was pretty damn fun. Great review, thanks for taking me back in time.
This game was my very first contact with the Star Wars franchise, built my hopes and dreams about the movies long before seeing the movies (poor country)
Loved the behind the scenes of the Making magic, or simply build my own story about what the movies could be about... ahhh nostalgia hits
Lol, what a sad story
Yoda and his mixed messages. When he says "Try Again" I think it's a test and you fail if you do try again, so you should just quit after that screen. That or the developer screwed up...
Do, or do not. There is no try.
I think Yoda is being snarky. "You failed because you tried, go ahead try again. * hidden snicker *"
But what if i just want to try the game? So confusing.
zorkan111 "Be good or don't even bother, there's no middle" - so Luke shouldn't have spent all that time balancing on his head trying to extract his ship from the swamp. He should have just called for breakdown recovery and waited under a tree in the rain.
Man these make my day! You inspired me to start my own PC game collection and i am at 121 games in the case :). Hope you never stop making these have a good day!
Good observation re: "Try again."
I remember playing the Indiana Jones one as a kid a ton, never even knew this one existed!
i remember this game, had a demo of it on my Windows 95
You got this out quick lol. Great review as always.
These Desktop Adventures were awesome but most of the folks I knew really did not like them at the time and I never really understood the hate until you pointed out that people saw "LucasArts" in it and were expecting a new lucasarts adventure game... and it all makes sense. For what it was, I always thought it did it very well: short bursts of star wars awesomeness in your desktop.
Great review btw, keep up the good work LGR
I remember this game, and absolutely loved it. Though after a certain point, you begin to see the repeating quests and stuff, even if it was randomly generated.
I remember having that game back in the day. I think I remember using a lot of the sound clips for the CD on my PC for different things like the start up etc ;)
oh man I played with this and the Indy one for hundred of hours... Love them
This game was nice , so many memories :p
So, randomized Star Wars Zelda.. What's not to love?
J.D. Whited The Indiana Jones one was my childhood!
Ahh! I didn't know there were other "desktop adventures" beside the Indiana Jones one, loved that game, nice vid!
I discovered this in a shop and bought it instantly. It was pretty fun, wish i'd know about the Indy one.
Whoa. Nostalgia overload. You ever not remember playing a game until you see a screenshot and then go on a deep dive to find the game? Yeah me too
I lost it at " bag of gravel mixed with molasses. "
me too
Wow, yet another nostalgia memory I needed dislodged. Thank you for this one.
I got this for my birthday (asked for it, don't worry) when I was 13. Loved it. Still love it. Glad to see someone else liked it for what it was.
Loved it as a kid.
still better than Star Wars Battlefront EA
Nah, Star Wars Battlefront II EA*
For some reason, I was convinced (as a kid) that if you played through enough of the missions you'd eventually unlock "special missions" that were directly based on the movies.
I used to love Yoda Stories when I was about 13, it was great!
This game also came out for Gameboy Color. I still appreciate random / generated levels to this day.
I remember playing this as a kid. It wasn't anything on the same caliber as other Star Wars at the time like Dark Forces or Tie Fighter, but was fun to occasionally play around in.
I remember playing it as a kid and I loved it back then.
In a random arduino project search I find this video of gold that shows a true treasure from my child hood
My good old grandma offered my brother and I either this game or Dark Forces II Jedi Knight back in 97 for Christmas. We nearly go with this one given I liked the box art more. But in the end we chose Jedi Knight.
We chose well.
I never thought I'd see this game again. A random game from my uncle's computer that I found and got to play every so often.
I had this once, and I actually kinda liked it. Great review as always.
i used to have so much fun playing this game as a kid(despite my dads firm conviction it contained a virus which resulted in the disk being shattered) . as a young boy obsessed with star wars i enjoyed this game immensely and it was one of the first games i played on the pc.
I loved this game!! I was born on '92 and got this game before I could read, so id have to get my mom to sit with me. i pull it out occasionally, and for real it wasnt bad for a desktop time waster. I appreciated the puzzles and the ability to not only travel to dagoba, but other planets in one game. The fact that there were a couple scenarios was great because hitting new game led to a new adventure instead of just one on loop. Gotta say, most gamers freak out when when they hear the sound byte of Link opening a treasure chest. Sometimes, I geek out when I hear the starwars theme and I go back to when I finally found the locator in the AT AT on hoth in this game. Cheers, Clint, thanks for the review!
2:24 Artoo (not R2)! Artoo Deetoo... That is amazing. This game is brilliant, I cant wait to play it again.
Even back in "The Day(TM)" I thought those help lines were silly. Maybe in an even older The Day they were pretty useful? Ah well.
Infinitely replayable! (Goodbye, Solitaire!)
I adored it. This was at a time in my life where i thought there could be no bad star wars products though....
I loved this game back in the day. A fun casual experience
Oh God the walking animation! As if Chibi Luke wasn't slightly discomforting enough they gave him that freaky waddle!
I remember this game, this game would be good on phones now.
I loved this game as child :3
Dude. Killing it as always!!! Mahn...u deserve more views.
I loved this game lol, I had the gameboy one as well :)
I feel a tremor in the FORCE here... Quick! Artoo we need to try again!
I spent way too many hours playing this as a kid. It blew my mind that I didn’t need a disk to play it at the time.
Ive been trying to find this game for years. I played it on PC as part of some kind of star wars game compilation. Crazy
Holy crap, stayed away for maybe 1-2 weeks from this channel and boom! 9 videos to viewe, Awesome, love LGR
"Yes I'm telling me that!" Oh my goodness! Oh, oh stop stop XDXDXD My sides!!
Holy crap man this video... Far funnier than it had any right to be. Great videos!
I played the Indiana Jones game build over the same engine back in elementary (a looong time ago!) and always wondered what was it called. Thanks LGR.
I still have this cd buried somewhere in storage. Got it on trade for some other game I'd finished with back in the 90s, but for some reason couldn't get it to install properly and never ended up playing it. May have been a scratched disc issue if I remember.
I had the shareware/demo version of the Indy game when I was little. But as far as I knew that was the full game. It blew my mind when I found out my grandpa had the full version with more to do.
I played it in the 90s, and it was indeed better than solitaire.
The year is 2020
Andcrhere is STILL only one trilogy.
We can only assume that Luke Skywalker went on to kick butt and use the Force to restore order to the galaxy.
Meanwhile his sister and her scruffy looking, nerf herder kicked butt and repaired ships throughout the galaxy and finally Leia returned to politics, helping planets establish stable governments in the wake of the collapsing Empire.
Training Jedis and restoring order. Luke, Leia, Chewie, Han Solo, C3PO, and yes, even Lando Calrission, would finally look out among the stars and witness the grand legacy of the Skywalkers.
I used to love this game as a kid. So much fun playing as luke on hoth
Wow this is nostalgic. I remember playing this so much when I was younger. Good stuff.
I grew up with this one, Mysteries of the Sith, and Tie-Fighter.
Good memories, looking back at it it's just an awkward fetch quest filled action only Zelda though.
I always enjoyed how it was randomized though.
I remember playing this a lot as a kid. Thought it was great!
LGR is the man
Wow, I remember this! Like you, I thought it was a fun little diversion!
I got this game for Christmas one year, along with Dark Forces, Xwing, Tie Fighter, and demos for jedi knight, mysteries of the sith. I liked this game, I was so mad when I found it didn’t work on windows XP
i loved this game growing up
I... LOVED... THIS... GAME! Nostalgia overload!!!
I remember my dad had a demo of this game on his computer. I completly forgot about it until I saw the X wing landing near R2D2.
played this all of the time as a kid came in a collection with dark forces, xwing, tie fighter etc.
Your reviews are better & more entertaining to watch than the big $$$ pros on my tv.
No, seriously.
I really played this game a lot as a kid. And actually there is kinda a "goal" in this game. After a certain amount of missions (if I remember rihgt) Yoda even disappears of Dagobah and you have this special mission to rescue him (also only appeared ONCE in all the time I played). In the end you receive the green light saber. This is just my memorie...probably not 100% correct but this really happened. After this special mission it went back to normal and nothing special happened ever again, just random missions.
Loved this game as a kid, played it right to the end. :)
I used to love this game!
WOW, memories. I played that game a LOT.
Awesome review as always, Clint, and I'm glad you're uploading reviews this fast after that incredible unboxing video! :D
Just a question: Can Google/TH-cam be out for your ass for that tiny clip with Yoda included in this video?
I remember playing tons of times with an old demo of this game and then, after... 15 years or something I got it bundled with an old copy o Shadow of The Empire! :D (if I remember correctly)
Great, interesting diversion it is! :D
I had this. It came bundled with the Indiana Jones one, which was pretty much the same game. While the game is a bit lackluster, it did include some Star Wars mouse cursors, sounds, and a wallpaper, which I decked out my first laptop with.
I love this game when I was little!
oh my god i used to have that. i totally forgot about it until i saw the top down perspective. i loved that game
I played this years and years ago as a pretty young kid and enjoyed it a lot despite not knowing what I was doing. Our family moved from that house and around the time, I got a hand-me-down laptop to play games on from my father, so I stopped playing on that computer. Over a decade later, I always thought those memories were from a fever dream or a Chinese knockoff game.
I actually kinda like this game, it’s sprite art is pretty good too
My grandmother had this installed on her PC and I would play it to death whenever I was over for multi day stays. Honestly, it may not be the most complex game, it is the most true to the universe game I have ever played. I'm actually looking for a copy to refresh myself from what these new movies have done to the franchise.
Oh my god! I was searching this game for years! Thank you!
Wow that's a neat game! They could totally port this kind of game to smartphones :)
I guess you have never heard of the awesome Prequel trilogy clint?
They were pretty awesome from the pod racers to some awesome battle scenes & even the infamous "Nooooooo"
Hi LGR... I've always been curious about this game! thanks for the review. Quick question: are u planning to make a review about Street Rod games?? Those are totally worth to be seen again.!
Great review! I had this back then and Indy's Desktop Adventures. I remember playing Indy's Adventures for HOURS. This game posed many annoyances for me since it was basically made for a low resolution screen. I ran 1024x768! Didn't anyone else?? I remember how annoyed I was and used to lower my video resolution just to play these games. Still though, extremely fun and enjoyable to play. I'm probably going to get my CDs these right now.....;-)
I loved the old Solitaire (before XP) because the designs of the cards were better (in my opinion), some even had animation, and I'm not sure if the newer versions of solitaire still have the bouncing cards when you win. I really liked that part.
"Stevie Wonder on glitterstim"
Sounds like how half the people in this town drive. :-)
Skywalker's Challenge! Bummer!
I still own a CD copy of this game :D I dont play it much It never took on for me, not when Tie Fighter was out at the same time
Pssh. Best 10 bucks/month ever. So much entertainment.
I'm honored you think so :)
Cool, i remember with joy the Indy game for PC (Desktop Adventure)
I acknowledge the existence of the Prequel Trilogy. Lucas wrote it so it exists.
Oh my god i completely forgot this one. Oh dear me. I had it in some kind of Collection CD (Europe) and it was rather fun but it was overly hard for my young mind so i just quitted after getting stuck so many times. Darng such nostalgia.
Your channel is brilliant. So entertaining and interesting
I got this game in a pack of six star wars games. Whats surprising is they were actually all good. This one was my favorite. Totally underrated.
