Such a nice looking plane , Great flight and Landing Gina . Been grounded here for week waiting on some half decent weather . Its is what it i . Rather than eh . Blessings my Dear .
Thanks for picking up the slack😂. I'm on a mini holiday with my gals. Dodgy WiFi but lucky to watch my favorite lady pilot in action 😊. You really are getting comfy with your strip. Well done little buddy.
Thank you, Adam. It's another classic case of the full size airframe's benign nature transferring directly into a smaller version. She's a sweet flyer ☺
What skillz, cross wind takeoff & 3 point landing, i love the exciting bits like hubbies hand launches and the perfect grass landing/crashing, more please. :)
The Wind certainly has been a thing. Sorry you lost a tree. This lovely, stable Cherokee is perfect for the conditions though, I like the trike undercarriage on these. The plane didn't LOOK phased really, 'twas a good flight and a great landing in the lovely sunshine. Nice one Gina! 🌟👍
Thanks, William! Yes, the Cherokee coped admirably with the wind - it's a lovely airframe by its nature. Well, we did lose a tree. Our neighbour came around to help us clear the road and heft some of the stuff, so we cut up the trunk into logs and gave them to her for her log burner, so some good came of it.
Hei! Kiitos! If you've never had a low wing aircraft, may I humbly suggest the E-flite T-28 Trojan 1.1m wingspan? It's about as stable as any low wing model comes.
Cheers for your Cherokee ! That really is a great flying plane. I end up enjoying some slightly non-scale aerobatics with mine - because it can flow through the maneuvers so well. I enjoyed your beautiful flight even though the wind tried to sour things a bit. I agree with you - I hate when the wind makes things all janky and it bounces my plane so much that my little on board pilot nearly gets air sick. I don't know how much of a morning person you are - but I find that to be my most rewarding time to fly. I will check the next day's forecast, and if the wind looks to be light - I put batteries on charge as I go to bed. Then, next morning - I often find the wind is light just before sun up ( and I sometimes start about a half hour before actual sun up. ) And it is usually good for the next hour, and sometimes for a little longer. So that target time of about one and a half - to maybe two hours is golden for me. In addition to the nice, smooth flying - I love how the sun makes an artwork of the blended pink and light purple clouds spread across the sky. { My favorite time to enjoy some fresh air! }
Thanks, JR! I'm with you about scanning the next day's weather forecast. My preference is to charge the batteries just before flight and then go out. There's certainly something magical about those two 'golden hours' either end of the day ☺
Hi Gina, Your MKI Cherokee seems to fly very well, and a great landing on the strip. I flew my MKII blue Cherokee last week and it flew a treat. Thanks for your recommendation, much appreciated. I flew the Beach T18 as well, just needed some new batteries which I got on Saturday as my 4 year old packs were getting a bit sad. Just waiting for another good day. Cheers for now. Lee.
G'Day, Lee! Yep, this OG Cherokee really is a super flyer, and I'm really pleased to learn that you're enjoying yours as well! There's a full-size Beech T18S that flies around our part of the world now and again... it's painted a lovely, eye-catching bright red, too. A lovely thing...
@@purcellrcaviationchannel Gee, a bright red T18. That would stand out a bit. Mines silver grey with black stripes on the fuselage and a red anti glare panel on the nose in front of the cockpit front windows. I just need to fly mine more when the wind settles down, we're in for a windy week here. Catch up next video. Lee. Lee.
@@purcellrcaviationchannel Quick question…in my new Mustang (Eachine 500 mm,brushless) the control wires for the ailerons (single servo under wing) are a bit ‘slack’ as in,they rattle in flights, annoyingly as this is a brushless plane…it’s ‘buzzing’ How would you stop this occurrence?…I’ve bent the wires longer/shorter,but it just throws the ballance of the ailerons out…was thinking a tiny bit of superglue on the horn-hole WITH the rod still in it…then ‘free up’ manually, after the glue has dried…or do I need them little plastic tubes? Which would be a bugger to get on now with all the bends in place ?…Any advice greatfully received.
@@joelfildes5544 Hi Joel. That's a tricky one 🤔 You could either: 1) Remake the pushrods from thicker wire 2) Sleeve either the pushrod or the control arm hole... both a PITA 3) Smear a generous blob of Vaseline or Castrol grease on the point where the rod goes through the arm. This would stop the rattling and still allow free movement, but might need doing regularly.
@@purcellrcaviationchannel Brilliant! The grease is a great idea ! It’s so annoying as it’s actually louder than the old gear driven ones ! I’ll get meself a Chapstick !

Thanks, Philip! I hope you can get a break with the weather ASAP.
Gina fantastic flying and landing. The Cherokee will land at a slower speed. Jeff in LA USA
Thank you, Jeff! I've yet to master the art of the slow landing with this Cherokee... but I will, one day!
Beautiful airplane and a great flight Gina!
Thank you very much, Alex! ☺

Nice one.If your looking for a smooth and graceful aeroplane , then take a look at the 2M Volantek ASW28 motor glider.
Thanks, chap! I have the Volantex 2.6m ASW28, if that's the same version you have? I've only maidened it so far but it shows real potential 👍
Need to practice your handbrake turns for them landings…!
Haha!! That and a bit of TWOC-ing as well, Joel 😆 ...in the style of the early 90's car theft craze
