Gotta run, so I'll finish the rest later, but just want to say that Larry is such a good interview. He knows everything, and his passion for coins is really evident.
Thank you for this, waiting for part 2. :-) As a Dane, I wish I had 70+ million to buy them all. Also amazing it survived two world wars without being looted.
Wow what an amazing opportunity it must’ve been to look at and hold these coins. It’s amazing what time can do to a coin. I can’t get enough of those beautiful original surfaces
Will watch more tonight to absorb all I can . Hope you are able to follow this collection as it is cataloged for auction! Thanks Ben, for being where big story is!
Wow. I'll be coming back to this video a few times before the auctions take place. Also, I found the video with L E Bruun's 4 large cabinets. Those cabinets are also impressive.
I think Ben should be able to talk about all the coins before auction... I could look at coins like this all day everyday... Definitely wish I had a few million to spend at this auction 😍
Museum worthy coins. One of the bigger advantages of having those coins locked away for so long is that they were kept away from auction houses, grading companies, coin dealers, and the general commoditization that has overtaken coin collecting in the 21st century. A bygone era.
Great stuff! What type of materials (wood and the red fabric) were used to make the cabinets the coins were stored in? There doesn't seem to be any environmental damage to any of the coins.
Curious to know the story behind how these coins survived being confiscated or stolen during WWII. Any insight into how they were hidden and emerged unscathed?
Can’t wait for these auctions to roll out over the coming years. Will to go after some of the little guy stuff, but I’ll will stay away from the plate money;)
Wow... these are eye candies. Thanks for sharing! I wouldn't be surprised, if most of these specimen looking coins were specially made for him. I mean, he was wealthy man and the mint in Copenhagen probably had all the dies still present. It wouldn't be rocket science to strike few extra coins. Russians at the same time made numerous different novodels. But that's impressive collection!
This collection could turn the coin market upside down. Will there be those with inside knowledge of upcoming coins who will sell theirs before they are devalued? I'm hoping not. That is part of the mystery in collecting and or investing in rare coins.
Ben could start a second business (as if he doesn't have enough to do) making videos for people's collections... I'd definitely send him my coins for a video description of his thoughts... And I won't even ask for kickbacks for my idea... Ben can keep all the profits!
I believe he is eluding to the fact that people "collect" as evidenced by collections over the years - people collect for the fun and the fact they own - ego is involved - but I disagree collecting has not changed but perhaps the way we collect
@@michaelgoodspeed846I completely understand what you're saying, and I agree. But 200 years ago in the US,the Mint was only 30 years old and trying to figure out how to make coins, not sure if there was a collector mindset.Obviously,in Europe, completely different
Thanks for geeking-out over these amazing coins with me Ben! Always fun hanging out with you.
always love videos with you at stack bowers larry! Thanks for showing us these

Please please do another one of these videos at the long beach show with him! I loved seeing coins from eras I haven't collected.
Glad to see NGC graded these coins nice coins nice holders
Hey Ben, you are the Vin Scully of describing coins - btw IMO - Vin Scully the greatest announcer of live baseball of all time.
Superb coins💎

Can u share the link to that video
They should let you do a video of all the coins in this collection
YES!!!
Wow, what a coup for NGC. Probably not a lot of cleaned and questionable color coins though. Very interesting.
This was incredible. Seeing coins that old in that fantastic condition is something to behold. Thank you, Ben!
I can't wait for this auction, better start saving now!

This episode is fucking fantastic.
Absolutely beautiful coins. Glad you know people Ben. Thank you for sharing.
This is a great episode. I've read several articles about this collection. It's awesome to be able to get such a good view of it. Amazing!
I'm glad Mr. Bruun didn't melt the coins because the spot price went up.
Please we need a part 2
that 1841 MS68.... wow! thanks for sharing Ben!
Pretty cool!!
Can't believe how scratched up the holders are already.
I have been impatiently waiting for this sale 🤪🤑
Crossed hammers are the mintmark of the Royal Mint Norway in Kongsberg !
Always nice to see interesting pieces under Ben’s loupe.

OMG!!!
Curious to know the story behind how these coins survived being confiscated or stolen during WWII. Any insight into how they were hidden and emerged unscathed?
If I find an answer I’ll tell

very interesting, tons of new info, and being able to see coins, that are far more than my beer budget.

Can't NGC make a 3 D holder for the thicker coins?
Ben could start a second business (as if he doesn't have enough to do) making videos for people's collections...
I'd definitely send him my coins for a video description of his thoughts...

Wow.
Why did it seem all the ngc cases were badly scratched?
Good thing they didn’t use PCGS. Many would’ve come back questionable color, cleaned, or environmental damage.
they are like bust dollar in MS66-68, speechless
Yay!
All of those crowns with all of those beads.... I'm thinking varieties. 12 beads, 14 beads, missing or misplaced bead etc. 🤓
Didn’t show grade on last coin can u show yr camera setup
Part 2 when ?
I'm not a collector of these but I may have to add at least 1 of the less expensive ones to my collection.
I'm surprised that the Nazi's didn't seize the collection during their occupation of Denmark in WW II.
Hey Ben
Will the common man (peasant) be able to afford anything from this collection?
Let's help out that TH-cam AL Gore Rythym
Hi Ben

That's gotta be the boldest set of noses I've ever seen.

Collectors haven't changed in 200 years?I beg the differ
