This presentation, given by Ryan Downey, Principal Engineer at AVO Training Institute, discusses harmonics in electrical power distribution systems. The discussion includes detail regarding the IEEE standard that explains and provides recommendations and requirements for harmonic control. Also included in the discussion will be the various types of harmonic sources and the cause/effect problems they can create and how they can possibly be mitigated. - วิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี
Really well explained! Loved the information.
Really nice job, materials were expalined so deliberately
.
Thanks, very informative.
great presentation
Excellent
Good job
thank you loved person
Can I get the file of the presentation? Thank you
Hi, I like your lecture
Very interesting
Can I get the presentation
Thank you very much for your lecture.
Im studying electrical engineering and i have learned about harmonycs in my university only 1% of all this you explained. Better to study on the you tube rather to go in school !
you need to study and learn on your own. don't rely to your professors mate.
Sir greeting for da day, I know u are a busy man but I am asking is der any easy way to learn capability curve of a synchrons generator..... Plz reply ASAP
The best source of information on and performance curves for synchronous generators is the data sheet from the manufacture of the generators themselves.
These harmonics makes the power meter charge you more for electricity because of how the meter works. How can this be corrected?
Eliminate the harmonics
good
shuduk item
Nope. Not even close.
What you mean?
@@joeschmidt6597 Which harmonics are created is not a function of the kind of circuit you are using. 6 pulse rectifier vs 18 pulse rectifiers don't create specific harmonics just because they are have a certain circuit topography. There are laws that determine which harmonics are created and it's based on the angle at which the incoming sine wave was at when it intercepted the non-linearity. Read my book, don't wait for the movie.
Tell me why I see 5th 7th and 11th harmonics on my supply with 6 pulse vfd loads than . 😂 gtfo here this info is spot on
@@englandrasmussen3111 The PHASE ANGLE where the distortion impacts the input sine wave determines the "Harmonic Signature." It has nothing to do with anything else. Not only did I discover this, I came up with the formula that predicts why you get the 5th, the 7th and the 11th. The phase angle where the distortion hits the sine wave is what drives it. I found a mechanical website that showed a harmonic signature from a galled bearing and laughed my butt off as I read the idiotic excuses for this harmonic signature. I poked fun at them and got in trouble with the sys-admin for that site, so I made this video explaining how that works. th-cam.com/video/17PtfpLDV44/w-d-xo.html
QUOTE "Single largest cause of severe harmonic distortion is resonance" UNQUOTE. Not exactly so - though the harmonic resonance does cause some severe harmonic distortions. If one applies only Capacitor with a Non-Linear load, the capacitor would magnify harmonics and one would land into a severe harmonic situation. Save for that, it the extent of Non-Linear Loads and when the transformer operates near its full capacity (with high VFD drives etc.) that cause THE REAL AND THE SEVERE HARMONIC DISTORTIONS, both with the THDi (Total current Harmonic Distortion) and THDv (Total voltage Harmonic Distortion).
