Other sheikhs and scholars don't ask money for there luxuries or rich life..they ask inorder to feed poor children who they care for..actually they make us a way to repent..which Allah loves..thinking about our ummah by giving and thanking Allah Subhan wa'taa'la because he chose us..so don't be so arrogant..u don't know what those other scholars are doing..Ma sha Allah I love Mufti Menk for the sake of Allah..I personally feel relaxed and my heart soothes after listening him but I love all scholars..I respect them..Many scholars are from poor family they can't afford caring huge numbers of children in madrasa so they ask ummah to contribute..Allah Subhan wa'taa'la gave you to give other's..be calm..Don't blame them for which they are not actually doing..I hope u will get my point..don't take this otherwise..brother we are all one ummah..Make dua for all..don't blame anybody

One of the most important things that I learned from Mufti that he talks about here is that we must thank Allah for closing doors and opening up others. I had a big problem about letting things go. But I listened to him talking about this and it helped me so much

OK this interview has helped me understand this brother better in a good way. I may not agree with some of his views, but I have more respect for him than what I had before this interview.
Wow, this totally changed my mindset about him. Subhan Allah thanks for shedding some light about our misconceptions about people, and about muslims in general. I truly learned a lot, and got a lot of benefit from this podcast. Baraka Allahu feekum.
Mufti Menk only eats once per day ? I've been doing that for years and people think I'm strange. That's why when I try to explain to people that fasting during Ramadan for me isn't too difficult, is because im used to having one meal per day. I also come from a colder climate, so needing lots of water isn't so much needed. In the morning only one thing is on my mind and that's Fajr, after that the day has began. Also my stomach feel full in the morning, like I've just eat, so I never feel the need to eat breakfast or force myself to eat food for the sake of eating. During lunch time I usually only have 30 minute breaks from work and I'm usually watching speeches or talks or reading the Quran and have some nice hot tea. By dinner time thats usually when I get a little hungry, so this is usually when I eat and I keep it light and healthy.
This is basically been my life for many years and people always called me crazy and other things.

The Prophet Mohd (SAW) had food on alternate days and that too just once a day. Great to know you're following a similar discipline.

I love this man from the bottom of my heart. At the age of 32 this is the first time, that a mufti, a man of the deen really spoke to my soul. It has more to do with his manners and character then the content of what he says. Because when we think about it, many leaders have said more or less the same thing he says. But it is his delivery that stays with us. His natural charisma, his charm, his manners whilst delivering sensitive content, yet he remains humble. May the Almighty inspire our youth to become the next Mufti Menk, ameen.
